31. Extension to the number 28 School bus route

July 23, 2006

This petition is now closed.

September 22, 2005

The number 28 Route runs hourly between Morrisons, Evesham to Stratford-Upon-Avon Bridge Street. However on the school bus for this route which leaves Stratford at 4:00 terminates at Evesham Bus Station. The bus station is nothing more than 6 bus stops.

It would make great sense to continue on for the rest of the route, where the 28 would start as the normal 28 bus from Morrisons, Evehsam but instead it starts at Evesham Bus Station and is not a place where the buses are stored or kept.

I have seen at least 20 people who catch the bus from Morrisons, Evesham, and that was just in one day all getting on at the same time.

32. Take Racism off The Radio

Star and Timothy Joseph, self proclaimed, Original Haters of the Star and Buc Wild radio show, which is broadcast on multiple stations nationally, has downgraded radio talk since their arrival in early 2000.

Their attempts to capitalize on degrading, racial commentary are not acceptable or entertaining. Our citizens are not niggers, crackers or wetbacks and we should not have to tolerate being classified as niggahs, bitches, hoes, or poor white trash.

The lots of us are diverse, upstanding, intelligent, respectful citizens who are trying to cultivate, unify and elevate our nation as a whole. At 6:00 am when our young scholars are heading to school, Star and Buc Wild are polluting the air waves in an attempt to signify that it is ok to classify people in racial stereotypes and degrade women of all backgrounds.

The message needs to be sent out that no matter what your ethnic background is racism is not acceptable.

33. Bring back Z 95.7 to San Francisco!

This is a petition to bring back the best radio station there ever was to San Francisco: Z 95.7.

This radio station not only played rap, hip-hop, and R&B, but it also played alternative, pop, and rock music. All of my friends loved listening to this radio station because it had something for all of us, and we never had to switch the radio station back and forth (as we must do now).

PLEASE BRING BACK Z 95.7!!!

36. Resurrection Request of WHFS 99.1

WHFS Changes Its Tune to Spanish

WHFS-FM, the Washington area radio station that was a pioneering purveyor of alternative rock to generations of young music fans, did a programming U-turn yesterday by ditching the genre for a Spanish-language, pop-music format that transforms it into the largest Spanish-language station on the local dial.

In an instant, the station abandoned the likes of the White Stripes, Green Day and Jet for middle-of-the-road superstars such as Marc Anthony, Juan Luis Guerra and Victor Manuelle.

The switch reflects both changing demographics and a corporate war of attrition involving Washington's two major radio station owners, Infinity Broadcasting, which owns WHFS, and Clear Channel Communications, which owns WHFS's chief competitor, DC-101.

37. Save WHFS 99.1

As of January 12, 2005 the legendary WHFS 99.1 alternative rock station changed its format without and warning to its listeners or to its employees. At 12 noon, they simply stopped playing the music my generation has loved for years, and switched to a new format. No warning, no good-bye, no anything. I have listened to this radio station for years, infact, it is the ONLY radio station i listen to.

This also means an end to the legendary HFStival and Nutcracker concerts that WHFS puts on every year. I am attempting to collect as many signatures as possible with the intentions of sending the petition to Infinity Broadcasting in an effort to get them change their minds and not take this great radio station from its thousands upon thousands upon thousands of loyal, dedicated listeners.

38. Belmont Station Assigned Parking Issue

Sequoia Management Company recently repaved the parking areas of Belmont Station. In doing so, the parking space numbering was also removed and never replaced. It has now become impossible to tell where the assigned and visitor spaces are now located. Visitors now have no idea where to park (at no fault of their own) and have been parking in what was assigned parking spaces. Because there are no markings on the paved areas, property owners are unable to ticket or tow vehicles and have lost the use of their own spaces, 2 of which are included in the sale of each ungaraged townhome.

Property owners who purchase townhomes with garages don't have this problem because they have a garage and a driveway; plus VISITOR parking if need be. Garaged townhomes are sold with NO assigned parking because of this, which is how it should be.

Unfortunately, the property owners of the garaged townhomes feel that they are also entitled to assigned parking spaces - which would give them 4 parking spaces plus visitor parking!

It is being argued that they don't use the garage for parking but rather for storage. That is the property owner decision and property owners of the ungaraged townhomes should not lose parking because of this.

In conclusion, the policy should remain as is - townhomes with garages should continue to have the use of visitor parking only - they should NOT be assigned 2 additional reserved parking spaces - this takes away from the parking for the property owners without the garage/driveway.

This petition is for the benefit of the property owners of UNGARAGED townhomes that are in jeopardy of losing much needed parking.

Please keep the parking policy as is and repaint our numbers in the assigned parking areas as soon as possible.

Thank you!

42. HELP US STOP THE PROPOSED 24-HOUR CONVENIENCE STORE AND 24-HOUR GAS STATION AT 500 WILLOW ROAD

The owner of the existing gas station is requesting a Use Permit from the City to demolish the existing gas station and car wash and add a 24-hour gas station and 24-hour convenience store. As residents of this area of Menlo Park, we have significant concerns about allowing such a facility in this largely residential area.

43. Pat Sharpe 4 Radio1

With audience figures dropping more frequently then ulrika johnson's knickers... it's obvious that radio 1 is in need of a major shakeup. Some have pointed toward the development and untilisation of new talent and trends. This may be the case, but without question radio 1 needs to invest in older more established talent as well to bolster the ratings.

One man waits poised in the wings, a former employee of radio 1 and currently presenting on heart...he is the man, the myth, PAT SHARPE!

His family orientated humour would no doubt herald the remergence of radio 1 listeners and increase the current profile of the station. This petition is proposing the move of the king of family based comedy PAT SHARPE taking over dave pearces drive time slot on the station. A man whose credentials shadow anyone else on radio 1 is the man needed to turn around the demise.

This petition will be promoted amongst the radio community, the concluding results will then be sent to the controller of radio one andy parfit.

44. STOP OVERPLAY ON ALTERNATIVE STATIONS!

We, the alternative-rock fans of Chicago, IL and other metropolitan areas, have become greatly disappointed with our alternative-format stations. I started listening to WZZN-FM, a Chicago alternative station last year. Why? Because it wasn't a pop station so I figured it would play a wide variety of songs in a night set. Recently I have noticed that the stations excessively play the songs that are making it big on the charts, or the "hot" songs, which we are all getting sick of. For example, I once heard "By The Way", by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, 3 times between 10 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. That's the same song 3 times in about 5 1/2 hours. And frankly, my fellow music fans and I are getting really f---in' sick of it. We propose that a limit should be set on the number of times a certain song is played per day, more attention is paid to independent, unsigned artists, and that a wider variety is put into the nightly playlists.

46. Improve the Countryside and Save It From Destruction

In Croft, there have been many plans to open it up and improve it but so far, all have been thwarted by people intent on keeping it what it is on the flimsy pretext of 'protecting the green belt'. The most recent plan is to re-open the station - a plan that would vastly improve the area. Why? Because they claim that it would involve building a car park to fit 5000 cars. How likely is it that any place that gets (at most) 350 cars a day would build a car park that would leave at least 4000 spaces empty every day? It is almost impossible! The objectors base their claim on environmental issues but I challenge that. If there was a station, there would be less cars on the road. Were there less cars, two things would happen; there would be less pollution and there would be less demand for new roads. By keeping the station shut these people are forcing more cars onto the roads. This means that new roads will have to be built as the existing ones cannot cope with the ammounts of traffic. Building new roads will take up even more green belt than the small space needed for a car park. The car park will not be an eyesore as it will surely be small - it cannot be any otherwise! Even if you do not care about a small village that you probably have not heard of, the environment affects everybody, and it is all of our duty to protect it in whatever way we can. The only way to stop the whole country from being covered in motorways and otherwise trashed is to open it up now - starting with the stations!

47. Sidewalk Addition to Havenner Road

Our neighborhood has seen many road improvements over the last two years, but one significant issue continues to haunt us all, -- the dangers for any pedestrian, both young and old. *Over 110,000 pedestrians are injured every year and many are even killed by automobiles. This carnage is attributable only in part to individual misjudgment -- a failure to "look both ways" as children are taught. These deaths an injuries are also the consequences of a transportation system gone badly wrong -- a system focused on making the streets safe for cars instead of making communities safe for people.

Indeed, people are 1.6 times more likely to get killed by a car while walking than they are to be shot and killed by a stranger with a gun.

An in fact our own neighborhood has had consistent trouble with speeders, hazardous driving and lack of accessible walkways. One neighbor was hit just a year ago and got seriously injured.
Two important points:
1)Senior Citizens Are At The Highest Risk and
account for 23 percent of all pedestrian
fatalities -
2)Most Fatalities Occur On Neighborhood Streets, More than half -- 55 percent -- of all pedestrian deaths by automobiles occur on neighborhood streets.
Let's take a step forward to gaining back our streets for those that want to walk, run, exercise, and enjoy our beautiful neighborhood. There are many attractions, such as the pond and the pool that are just not accessible to the average walker/family. Sidewalks can be the beginning to opening up ourselves to a new way of life in Fairfax Station.

48. Restore WZTO-FM 101.1 "The One" to Nashville Radio

On Friday, October 12th 2001, Clear Channel Radio, without warning or advance notification, pulled the plug on contemporary Christian radio station WZTO 101.1 FM and replaced it with a non-Christian urban hip-hop format under the call letters of WUBT.

WZTO met a strong need in the Nashville area to minister to Christians age 25-40 through faith-based music and a message of hope. We hope through this petition to encourage Clear Channel Communications to restore WZTO-FM to the airwaves.
