61. Stop the destruction of Adam's bridge or Rama bridge or Ram Setu 
The ill-planned destruction of the thousands of years old, man-made stone bridge known as the Holy and revered Adams bridge or Rama Bridge or Ram Setu, 48km long and 2km wide, connecting the southeastern coast of India with the northeastern coast of Sri Lanka (previously known as Ceylon), commenced on 11 Dec 2006.

Corporate arguments put forward in support of the destruction of the Holy and revered bridge, i.e. shorter-ship-sailing-times from West to East India, to avoid sailing around Sri Lanka, fuel economy etc. do not compensate for the loss felt by billions of Hindus, Muslims and Christians all over the world.
This Holy and revered bridge is priceless. There are underwater cities not too deep under the water. Tools and artifacts from the huge wall stone structures date back to over 7,500 years ago, making it the earliest civilization known to man, thousands of years earlier than the Indus Valley civilisation. The area of shallow waters around the Holy and revered bridge need to be dried out and preserved as the Holy land it once was in ancient times as a place of Holy and revered pilgrimage.

Due to an Indian court decision, work on the Holy and revered bridge has halted for a few months. Protests are being organized by many Hindu organizations to ensure this destruction does not resume. What is needed is a global effort on a massive scale.

62. Stop 'Bible Bashers' harassing people in bristol, UK
Today I was deeply disturbed to be stopped in the street by a woman in bright red overalls saying 'Jesus will save you!'. I apologised, said sorry but all of my friends and myself are straightedge and satanists (and no, this isn't what most people think it is).
She then accused me of pushing my 'religion' on everyone else (Despite the fact that being straightedge involves no drinking, no drug abuse and no sex outside of a relationship.) and threw a load of notes in my face.
She told me, that as a woman I was leading my male friends straight to hell. I found this a disgrace towards my gender.
It is people like this who are continually harassing people, disturbing them and upsetting them .
I'm all for people believing what they want to believe, but when they start forcing their religion upon everyone.
May I also note, this woman also deeply upset an old woman she shouted at?
Why should these people be allowed to harass people in such a way?
And if you would like the evidence, I shall be sure to scan up a picture of a pamphlet telling everyone how everything we enjoy is evil.
63. Official Grievance Against the College Republicans at the College of Saint Catherine
The College Republican's Anti-Affirmative Action Bake Sale, entitled "Affirmative Action is a Negative Reaction: Only Racists Consider Race" in the CdC Atrium on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, was an extreme display of white privilege and racist representation. We oppose the hypocrisy of a bake sale that supported this slogan, rhetoric and action.
What happened that day was racism—racism that is part of a larger systemic problem in our society. The language and action taken by the College Republicans are to be taken very seriously, as their position threatens and oppresses the rights and livelihoods of those whose social locations are already marginalized in our society—women, people of Color, the working class and the poor. This event led numerous students to feel unwelcomed, unwanted and unsafe.
Do not be confused. Their campaign that day was not independent of a larger systemic movement that supports and controls the White Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy.

This petition for Delphi Community High School to offer courses in Biblical Teachings, and to have Creationism taught in Biology, or any other science class, along with Evolution, the Big Bang Theory, etc... Evolution is taught in schools today as a fact, but it is only a theory.
As Dr. Carl Baugh puts it, "Evolution is anti-evidence faith and philosophical propoganda, which does not even qualify to be a scientific hypothesis, much less a proven "fact" of history or science." So if schools teach propoganda, than they can teach the Bible also, and that is what this petition is saying.
66. SAVE the holy sites and human history in Jerusalem from Israeli illegal excavation & destruction
End the Israeli destruction of the holy sites and human history in Jerusalem.
Recent Israeli excavations and destruction near and under the holy sites in the Old City Jerusalem threaten to change history. These excavations, if allowed to continue, threaten to seriously distort the historical significance of the Old City of Jerusalem. The integrity of monuments and historic sites that identify the heritage of humanity, especially sites of spiritual and cultural diversity, must be protected by responsible members of the world community.
On February 6, the Israeli antiquities authority started demolition of historic sites near the western wall of the holy sites compound. A hill, a wooden bridge, and two rooms at the foot of the hill will be eradicated in order to build a permanent bridge/walkway for Jewish settlers to access the Jewish Wailing Wall/ Muslim Buraq wall on the road leading to Magharba gate. These monuments represent different periods of human history.
Jerusalem, the mountainous walled city with a rich religious history, is sacred to followers of the three great religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; more than one half of the world's population.
For Jews, Jerusalem is the holy site of the Wailing Wall ; for Christians, the site of Christ's burial and resurrection; for Muslims, the site of the Prophet Muhammad's night journey to heaven, as well as the first direction they prayed towards before Makkah, and one of the three holiest sites.
Israel has been conducting what it terms 'excavation work' , an archaeological digging/tunnel , near and under the holy sites compound. since 1969.The current digging imposes a direct threat to the sustainability of Al-Aqsa mosque, as well as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre; where it is believed Christ was buried and rose from the dead. Other adjacent historic structures are also threatened.
In February 2004, excavation work led to the collapse of a part of the path leading to Al Magharba Gate, one of the holy compound’s main entrances. However, Israeli media claims that the excavation had no effect on this incident and cites a snowstorm as the reason for the collapse. In February 2007, they characterizes the recent excavation/demolition as repair, maintenance, or restoration activities.
Jerusalem’s rich history belongs to all humankind. Old City of Jerusalem was declared by UNESCO as a threatened world heritage site.
The recent Israeli excavations and demolition of historic monuments of Jerusalem are a clear violation of the international laws as listed below:
UNESCO Decision 30 COM 7A.34 (2006), 31 C/Resolution 31, as well as to the provisions of the four Geneva Conventions (1949), The Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict (1954) the related Protocol and to the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage (1972), the inscription of the Old City of Jerusalem on the World Heritage List and on the List of World Heritage in Danger and the recommendations, resolutions and decisions of UNESCO on the protection of the cultural heritage.
Jerusalem world heritage sites are a significant part of world history. As we speak, the world is witnessing the destruction of a history that belongs to all humanity. If we do not raise our voices in opposition to this illegal excavation, this historical treasure could be destroyed and wiped off the face of the earth forever.
We urge all concerned people of the world to stand firm to protect our human history and to stop all forms of demolition and excavations of the historical Jerusalem.
We urge the international community to appeal to governmental and non-governmental archeological, anthropological, historic, and human rights organizations, institutions, and legal entities to safeguard the cultural heritage of the Old City of Jerusalem

67. Petition to get a Class on Islam at Willamette
The religious studies department at Willamette has unjustly left Islam out of its curriculum. Islam is the world's second largest religion, making up 21% of the world's faith.
An introduction to this fascinating and controversial religion would be very helpful to understanding a culture that many students from the west have not experienced. I believe that it is imperative that we have a class on Islam taught in the very near future.

That's why we have to make sure that the UN and other international organisations cause an international pressure upon China to make sure the Tibetan people can live in peace and harmony whit their religion.

As many people who are against gay marriage say, heterosexual marriage is for reproduction, and of course there is no reproduction in gay marriage. However, nowadays and for many years now, people have not necessarily gotten married to have children, but because they love each other : so why can`t homosexuals have the same happiness through marriage?
Everybody is different and unique but they must be respescted and have the same rights as everyone else. As for religious issues on gay marriage, not everybody in the world is Christian (or any other religion that bans gay marriage), there are about 4,200 religions in this world.

An American Hindu family living in a rural Village in Western New York State is appealing a Court Injunction banning their Family Cow.
The Village allows a Commercial Beef farm to operate across the Street from the family's home.
The Local Courts have reufused to address the First Amendment issues, saying the case has nothing to do with Religion. The Judge did not give the family a chance to testify at their trial.
The family wants to keep a cow and her calf on their 14 1/2 acre Village property in order to demonstrate humane and responsible care of cows and to promote vegetarianism, sustainable agriculture and locally grown food as the first steps towards a socially responsible diet.
They advocate Ahimsa (non-violence) and work to promote peace, gratitude and mercy in human society; all of which are symbolized by the cow in their religion.
Although the practice of protecting cows is unique to Hinduism, the principles of responsible and humane treatment of cows represents the Free Speech interests of a broad spectrum of Americans concerned with animal rights, vegetarianism, sustainable agriculture and nonviolence, (Ahimsa).
The Village of Angelica does not forbid farm animals and other residents keep cows, goats, sheep and chickens for commercial purposes and as pets.
Please sign the petition to the US Commission on Civil Rights and let them know the US Courts should give serious consideration to cases involving Free Speech and Religious Expression.

The first amendment: " Congress shall make now laws prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
Two court cases will be held before the supreme court to hear the ruling and to make a decision on the rules of publicly displaying the Ten Commandments.
The large Texas cases took form in 2002 when a homeless atheist man named Thomas Van Orden passed by the monument, which sits next to the American Flag, American Eagle, and other religious symbols subscribed by Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and charged it of being an unconstitutional establishment of religion. The federal district court rejected his argument, ruling the state's reasons for placing the monument were clearly secular. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit also upheld the decision in 2003, and Van Orden appealed the decision to the Supreme Court.
The out come of this case will inevitably change the way the Christian religion is held in this country. The ruling of making the ten commandments illegal to have in government buildings will trickle down to it being illegal to having them displayed anywhere in public. This will most likely lead to crosses being taken down off the sides of churches and the ultimate concealment of the whole Christian faith! This clearly violates the first amendment the courts are saying the ruling would be supporting.
Please help justice prevail in this court and help protect ALL religions in this great nation we reside in. Please take time to sign this petition and put forth an effort to keep the Ten Commandments in view of all onlookers.

I am guaranteed freedom of speech, so i ask you only respect my opinion, the same i would do for you.
With that out of the way, let me describe why i want to stop the legalization of gay marriages.
Marriage is currently defined as a union between a man and a woman. This is how it should stay. When i was a child, everything i saw had an imact on me, and the same is true today. I do not want my future kids to see 2 men kissing, and get the idea that that is right. It's just not exactly..... natural.
Men should love women, not each other.
83. Abolish All Phrases of God In The US government and the Amendment of Seperation of Church And State
In school, all American's said the pledge of allegience with the phrase "one nation, under god..." Everyone handles our currency, which has the phrase "In God We Trust" on it. During the presidential debates, both the candidates, John Kerry, and George Bush, ended with the note of "God Bless."
Well what about those of us who don't believe in god. Such as myself, I am an athiest. It offends me that everythign in our country has to do with god this and god that. I've always thought it to be such bull, and none of religion to be believable.
Everyone always says the phrase speration of church and state... correct? Read through the Constitution. No where does it state it. So in this, I am calling for an amendment to the Constitution that will change this, and be dubbed (Amendment) Article XXVIII: Seperation of Church and State. This way, it can not be used as an excuse to get past all of us. In Article 1 (first amendment), it states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" That represents the Seperation of Church and State JUST, by not establishing an official religion. That line does NOT state that the government can not use religion.
In the future, if a candidate for president uses such phrases as "God Bless", that would be accepted though, under the law of Freedom Of Speech, also stated in the 1st Amendment.
Do the right thing and correct the Constitution that so many have been tricked into believing by the words that they use.

because he practices Falun Gong
(a Meditation) and observes it's principles of truthfulness, Compassion and tolerance.
Ms. Yu Hong Li, 32, has been living in Germany for 1,5 years. She was arrested
during a visit back to China in May 2003 and illegally detained in the same Detention Camp/Jail. Ms. Yu was practicing Falun Gong for several years and since the beginning of the persecution appealed in Germany for her freedom of belief, freedom of expression and was only trying to be a good person.
Up to now the Chinese Communist Party has arrested more than 100.000 people for practicing Falun Gong and sent many of them to labor camps. At least 941 people have thus died because of torture.

85. Abolish Evolution From Science Textbooks
This petition is to abolish evolution from science textbooks and move it to social studies textbooks since it is technically a religion. Children are being taught evolution as a fact, not a theory.

Throughout history, people have been able to look at anything on the internet. This year, LWSD has hired websense to block all good sites such as email and even the district homepage. for kids who dont have a computer with internet at home, this really sucks and puts those kids at a disadvantage and closes a door to them. i believe that porn is good and if a guy is set on shooting his goob at school, hes gonna do it whether theres games or porn or not.
Furthermore, religion has really corrupted kids and we cant even look at alternative religion and get information on them w/o having to steal a teachers password. espionage has become a common thing and websense has promoted teen violence and theft.
87. Stop Neopets Abuse of Freedom of Religion!
If you've heard of neopets.com or seen its commercials in "Lunchables" or on other TV commercials, you know about the greatest virtual pet site on the internet. Well, this site is as great as it seems.
Neopets is a well-patrolled kid's website that makes sure no profanity is exposed on the site, but they are prejudiced against the Christian religion and all related Christian things including Christian guilds (kind of like clubs), Christian users, Christian shops, and many Christian banners in the shops, but allow Wiccan, Muslim, and other religious things on the site. Even if you are not Christian, you know that it is wrong for neopets to not allow us to express our beliefs. In the United States it is the law that we are allowed to express are beliefs on the internet and anywhere else. neopets is a bad example for kids, teaching them to be mean to other people for their religion, color, or any other thing about a person. That's what started the Holocaust! Hitler was taught to hate! WE CAN'T ALLOW THIS!!! STOP NEOPETS ABUSE!!!
88. Keep God in the Pledge of Allegiance
When the story came on the news, I was appalled: 1 person might keep God out of the pledge of allegiance because he doesn't happen to believe in Him? In fact, Constitutionally, they shouldn't be allowed to abolish it. According to the first Amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech..." Of course, that didn't stop them from taking prayer out of schools.
Many people today believe in God and if they can't say that this country is under God when they truly believe it, they have taken away their rightof expressing religion. Our nation was founded by people who wanted to worship freely, without the government hanging over their heads. Let everyone know that there is no such thing as separation of church and state and stop this before we can no longer worship God at all!
This petition is to ban his website from making negative and discriminating remarks about the Wiccan Religion. Many of us have fought to hard to have to try to allow such sites to continue to exist. We want it corrected and the ignorance to end.
