I am starting this petition to try and get the TV channel GOLD (formerly UK Gold, UKTV Gold and G.O.L.D.) to join Freeview and be available to Freeview viewers.
The channel predominantly shows classic British comedies like Only Fools and Horses, Blackadder, One Foot in the Grave and Fawlty Towers for the vast majority of the day.
The channel is currently available only on Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk TV.
I feel it would be a great advantage to people who have Freeview, and who do not want to spend a lot of money on buying Sky/Virgin etc. Many people are fond of these old sitcoms.

Tiswas first started in the A.T.V. Midlands region on 5th January 1974. It was cancelled by Central on 3rd April 1982. A Tiswas Reunion special was broadcast in 2007.
But now, we want a full series of Tiswas back to our screens.
3. Do NOT Delay Hillingdon's Building Schools for the Future Programme 
In 2008 the Government announced that Hillingdon secondary and special schools would be included in a £150 million programme of modernising and improving our schools and making their facilities fit for the 21st century.
A year ago the council sent out to local schools a brochure setting out their plans on how this money would be invested in improving our schools. The Council said at that time that “We will experience exciting new changes in Hillingdon schools, making them suitable for 21st century learning.” The Council told us that the plan was to start in the south of the borough and include the north of the borough as soon as possible.
The Council should have agreed its plans with the Government by now so that we can secure the funds and start the work. However, on Thursday 18th March 2010, the leader of the council informed secondary head teachers that the Council is delaying agreeing the improvement programme plans until after the election and is laying off the bulk of the staff working on the programme. In addition the national Conservative education spokesperson has said that if the local programme has not reached “financial close” by the election “then it won’t be guaranteed.”
In effect this means that the £150 million programme for our schools is now at serious risk.
4. Rescue Children Against LTTE Terrorists
RESCUE CHILDREN PROGRAMME
RESCUE CHILDREN is a leading independent Programme functioning under our foundation. The programme is in its initial stage to create a real and lasting change for children of war in Sri Lanka and around the world. It will an affiliated programme of this foundation. It hopes to work with local and International Children Rights and welfare organizations working around the world to ensure the well-being of children’s, whom life became a nightmare due to the Terrorism and war.
The history of Our Foundation is a story of positive change in people in Sri Lanka and among International Community about the sacrifice of our forces in the war against Tamil Terrorism and bring the everlasting peace and freedom to sri lanka and specially to the thousands of Tamil people live under the troubled North and East under LTTE Terrorists.
Today millions of children in thousands of communities around the globe — working together to create opportunities for the world's children what has been victims of war and Terrorism and to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives.
In January 1989 for the first time I had setup a Individual Research Peace promotion and conflict research programme called " war cry for peace "and continued PEACE PROMOTION exhibitions in the I island and also it was the first ever exhibition was able to organize commemorative Exhibitions of World War 2 in Sri Lanka and it became more popular among public and schools.
It was the time we experienced the terror of JVP and LTTE.In 1992, with the help of group of concerned Friends volunteered to help me to setup the above foundation and gathered to respond to the needs of the foot soldiers, disabled ,and sick soldiers and their families and displaced peoples hard hit by the LTTE Terrorism and In 1992 August I founded this foundation with a few welfishers and Volunteers,
Since 1992 our foundation has committed to do the best for the foot soldiers in the war front, sick,dead and disabled soldiers and their family requirements.
Due to the continuing LTTE Crimes against children has raised the International concern including the UN but theirs nothing much they could do or interest to do but just issue statements, but thanks to the heroic effort of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces on going humanitarian mission to rescue the children and people in the North and Eastern Province of Sri Lanka gave us a opportunity to commence this programme.
Our MISSION
To win the hearts and minds of the People who has been victims of the LTTE Terrorism and Racial conflict against Sinhalese People and thousand of Young children who lived under LTTE iron fist, The time has come and the liberation is near for these innocent children and families and as a preparation to face the after shocks of war and to assist authorities on rehabilitation of the rescued and escaped and escaping children from the LTTE Terrorists, We intend to launch the RESCUE CHILDREN Programme as a civil welfare programme.
Attend the needs of the children escaped form LTTE recruit camps, and escaped from LTTE control areas and look for a possible solution to rehabilitate their lives and return them to the society where they can have a normal life and enjoy the child rights.
Help children to reunite with their families; Rehabilitation programmes in Education, Health, Religion, Social welfare rights; Provide necessary assistance such as, Re settlement in their own homes, Help them to trace their families. (Many Children were kidnapped by the LTTE and hold them in various areas to train them as CHILD SOLDIERS, SUICIDE BOMBERS, INFORMANTS AND USE THEM IN FRONT LINE FIGHTERS,
Provide Mental healths, Religious Counseling,(Many of captured children and children live in LTTE areas lived under so much tension pressure and been abused by the LTTE and needs mental and spiritual counseling to heal their wounded hearts and minds before they ready to re enter in the normal Society.
Through the decades, we have evolved into a leading national relief and development organization. Countless events and achievements have shaped the development of our organization and helped change the lives of the we serve.

5. Freedom of the press in India and Arunachal Pradesh
Arunachal ban on news programme
Itanagar: The District Magistrate of Papum Pare district in Arunachal Pradesh banned the airing of news programme by ‘Aaj Ki Awaj’ by cable operators for allegedly violating rules.
The District Magistrate in exercise of his power conferred under section 19 of the Cable TV Act, 1995 prohibited all cable operators from transmitting or re-transmitting the news programme by ‘Aaj Ki Awaj’ with immediate effect, official sources said on Saturday. In an order, the District Magistrate said ‘Aaj Ki Awaj’ has been airing programme without registering with the authorities and alleged the programmes are defamatory and suggestive innuendoes and half truths.
‘Aaj Ki Awaj’ has been covering news from all over Arunachal Pradesh and providing them to cable operators for circulation daily for the past few years after Doordarshan station at Itanagar discontinued airing privately produced news programme. PTI
6. Stop Actors abusing the Smoking Ban
Last night on East Enders (Thurdays 24/01/2008 screened at 20:00), a distraught Dot Cotton sat on her sofa smoking a cigarette while confiding in a friend. As this scene was filmed, a person was sat in their place of work smoking a cigarette next to a non-smoking colleague.
How is this legal? Surely there are no loop holes in the smoking ban. And surely the production company can not argue that "it is for the realism of the show", because none of the characters ever swear.
I feel that this blatant disregard for the laws of our country needs to be addressed immediately.
7. PROSECUTE LTTE FOR CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN
For the last 2 decdes LTTE alias LIBERATIONTIGER OS TAMIL EELAM Terrorsist group in Sri Lanka practise of force, abduct children in the North and East and traina gainst their will in their camps for various Terrorists attacks in Sri Lanka and overseas.The estimated childrens been kidnapped over 5000 for last 2 deacdes bby the LTTE.
Most of these children are between ages of 10 to 18 and bothe Male and Femals. Some children around age 10 has been train in isolated campse for suside missions for LTTE. These camps name as ROSE GARDEN where children lived in a isoltaed camps forbidden to enter for many. Today due to the lack of man power LTTE use children to fight with the Armed Forces.and also use as child slaves in their camps in the Wanni region in SRi Lanka.
It is very unfortuante thet the UN or the ICRC failed to resuce these childrens.
Thje parents are afraid of ther lives cannot raise their voicre against LTTE crimes agiant children in combast,UN have any clue or geniune intrest to activly invetigate this crimes but just was bale to made statments and send envoyes time to time for nothing,we belive the sri lankan community AND iNTERNATRIONAL community can make a push to build up immidate action against LTTE and bring them to INTERNATIONAL COURTS OF JUSTICE and punish them for their continue crimes against childrens in Sri Lanka.We also planing to offer a rehab programme for children esacpe from LTTE slave camps and you can write to us if you like to contribute your donations.
