1862. Global Day Of Peace For Victims Of Terrorism
Following on from the horror which occurred in the United States on Tuesday 11th September & the subsequent day of mourning declared by both the United States & the European Union, I have set up this online petition to call on all world leaders to declare a public holiday to honour all victims of terrorism worldwide, not just the ones in the United States. From the Omagh bombing to random acts of terrorism in Middle Eastern countries to the World Trade centres, terrorism attacks us all.
We should have a day to honour the dead & injured. A day of peace if you will that enable people to think about their auctions. Please sign the petition, please do not make bogus signings etc.
1863. Bring Osama bin Laden to justice
Osama bin Laden is by all reasonable standards a madman. He has been confirmed to have been involved in numerous terrorist acts, including the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, and the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole in Yemen. Yet we, as a government, have done little but whine about his continued freedom in Pakistan/Afghanistan. While he takes the lives of American servicemen, no attempt is made to force his extradiction and inprisonment.
It is my firm belief that this freedom has resulted in his latest terrorist act, the crash of 2 jetliners into the World Trade Center Buildings and 1 into the United States Department of Defense office, also known as the Pentagon, and the death of thousands of Americans.
We can no longer allow our freedom to be compromised for his. We, as Americans, need to exercise our right and demand justice be brought to those who have harmed our innocents. I ask that you sign my petition and show our government what its constituants want.
1864. Fathers' Equal Rights
My Name is Edward Goldstone. I am just one of many fathers who has had to say goodbye to their child. The last time I saw my son was July 9, 2000. This is due in large part to a court system that has large biases in custudy cases that give more rights to mothers as a parent. More often than not, the courts note only the father's income, rather than their ability to love and care for their child.
On December 22,1999, at the Abbotsford Courthouse, I was given legal visitation rights to see my son, and was required to pay a monthy child maintenance. Since then, in breach of the law, his mother has taken him and disappeared, denying me the right to see my boy, Austin. With the aid of private investigator, I have searched for my son's mother and grandmother with no success. I continue to pay monthly maintenance. Family Maintenance Program (which I volunteered to pay her through) knows where they are but doesn't have authorization to tell me.
Although she is deliberately breaking the law, the authorities can do nothing to stop her. This is due to the omission of a peace officer clause. Without this clause the police can't help me, essentially the court order means nothing. I am trying to get Dads' voices heard. Both parents should be given joint custody (providing the child is not in any danger) and a peace officer clause be included, to make the order inforceable.
I would like your help to put pressure on the Canadain Government to change these out-dated laws. You could help greatly by signing this petition. Its time for dads to have equal rights as parents!

This land has been used as an Inert Waste Landfill for many years and we "the Citizen's of East Point, Georgia" want this operation stopped. This landfill in its present state is operating against the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division, Chapter 391-3-4-.06 (Solid Waste Management) rule.
The City of East Point has not provided any permit applications, Notification of Permit By Rule Operations, monitoring reports (391-3-4-.17), inspection reports or any other demonstrations of compliance of Chapter 391-3-4 (Solid Waste Management).

1867. Reform ERISA Now
Petition started September 2001 by a person who has a disabling condition, worked all her life, and was improperly denied long-term disability from her insurance company (AND employer), despite medical evidence to the contrary.
The reason for the denial? Because they "CAN". Claimants cannot sue, except in Federal Court after a long process overseen by the insurance company, and then only for the exact amt of the LTD. Insurance companies KNOW about the ERISA loophole and use it to their advantage. MILLIONS OF AMERICANS ARE AFFECTED BY THIS, as their LTD benefits are covered under ERISA.

Seperatist L.T.T.E. movement is waging a war for a seperate state in the Nort/East of Sri Lanka for Tamil minority rights. It has bled this once Paradise Island to the brink of complete anarchy.
The EU led by the Norwegians with the full backing of the U.S. and the Indian governments started a peace process between the government and the rebels, only to be thwarted by various interested factions, depriving the large sector of silent peace loving Sinhales, Tamils and the Muslims to live in harmony.
This petition is to revive the peace process, a cantonal system as a model of devolving power sharing.

A Petition for human rights. I am a 14 year old WHITE male. I beleive all of God's children should have the same equal rights and not be singled out by groups like the Ku Klux Klan. They constanly insult and humiliate blacks, lesbians, homosexual men, jewish people, and other races and religions as well. I am making a stand and trying to make history. 1870. More BTO Options from Apple Computer, Inc.
In the Wintel hardware world, there are hundreds of choices of different motherboards, video cards, and cases from dozens of different manufacturers at various price points, depending on the features you want or don't. This is one of the few features I admire about the Wintel world.
Wouldn't it be great if we had similar choices in the Mac world? While I wouldn't expect Apple to license their technology any time soon to companies like Asus or Abit so that they could build all kinds of different Mac motherboards, maybe we could get Apple to rethink their "BTO" Power Mac strategy. At the minimum, it would be great if Apple allowed us to purchase only the components we needed to build or re-build our own Power Macs. However, I don't think this would ever happen, at least not as long as Steve Jobs is the CEO at Apple. Maybe we could convince Apple to re-think their BTO Power Mac options:
This is what I propose - Lets start a petition to get Apple to offer REAL BTO options whenever someone goes to buy a Power Mac at the Apple Store. This petition would collect the names, e-mail addresses, and comments of all Mac users who'd have an interest in seeing Apple offer TRUE BTO options. What do I consider "TRUE BTO OPTIONS"?
A - Three (minimum) different motherboards - Low, Medium, High End - with different price points to match:
- Low End: 3 PCI slots, 1 AGP, 1 USB, 1 Firewire, 10MBps Ethernet, 1 UDMA66 Connector (Supporting 2 Hard Drives)
- Medium End: 4 PCI slots, 1 AGP, 2 USB, 2 Firewire, 10/100 Ethernet, 2 UDMA66 Connectors (Supporting 4 Hard Drives)
- High End: 5 PCI slots, 1 AGP, 2 USB, 2 Firewire, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, 2 UDMA100 Connectors (Supporting 4 Hard Drives)
- G4 Processors - 733Mhz, Dual 733Mhz, 800Mhz, Dual 800Mhz, 867Mhz, Dual 867Mhz - These would be able to be used with either MB.
B - Three (minium) different Tower Case Designs - Small, Medium, Large (possibly with different colors) - with different price points to match:
- Small: (1) 5.25" External Drive Bay, (1) 3.5" External Drive Bay, 2 internal Hard Drive Bays for SCSI or IDE drives (3 different color options minimum)
- Medium: (2) 5.25" External Drive Bays, (1) 3.5" External Drive Bay, 4 internal Hard Drive Bays for SCSI or IDE drives (3 different color options minimum)
- Large: (3) 5.25" External Drive Bays, (2) 3.5" External Drive Bay, 6 internal Hard Drive Bays for SCSI or IDE drives (3 different color options minimum)
- Power Supplies: 250Watt, 300Watt, 350Watt, 400Watt - with different price points to match - any of which can be used in either case.
C - Video Cards - As it now stands, the choice is decent, but lets throw a 64MB ATI Radeon 8500 AGP, 32MB ATI Radeon AGP, Formac Proformance 3 and 4 AGP into the mix as well.
D - BareBone Power Mac: Any MOTHERBOARD from above, with any CPU from above, in any CASE from above, with any VIDEO CARD from above -
- This should require the purchase of the lastest version of OS X.
- NOT NECESSARY to purchase - RAM, Hard Drive, DVD/CDRW/SuperDrive
Unfortunately, I do not have my own website where I could host this porposed petition. If anyone who reads this likes this idea, please feel free to "take the ball and run with it." Feel free to use any ideas/wording from this posting in the petition. Lets try to get Apple to Re-think Differently about their BTO Power Mac Strategy. Lets let them know that we want more choice. I would love to be the first one on this petition. My idea would be to run this petition for at least 1 month if not 2 to collect as many names as possible.
While this type of BTO system would increase the cost of Apple's R&D, and as a result increase the price of Macs or BareBone Macs, I believe the price increases would not be dramatic, and it would in my opinion be worth it to get the kind of Mac motherboard/case/video card that I would want.
I believe this would also have a good chance of increasing Apple's market share and OS X adoption. Consider one scenario - Joe, a life-long Wintel "Poweruser". He's seen OS X and is interested - Unix core, reliable, powerful, with plenty of eye-candy too. Maybe he even likes the design of Apple's hardware. He'd like to give it a try, but he doesn't want to spend a minimum of $1699 for a low-end Power Mac since he spent about $1300 not too long ago for a high-end 1.4Ghz Athlon. But for say $1000 (or somewhat close to this) he could get a Low End motherboard, 733Mhz G4 CPU, Small Case, 32MB Radeon AGP Video Card, and OS X. Then all he'd have to do is take the RAM, Hard Drive, DVD/CDRW from his Athlon and put it into his new BTO Power Mac (or at worst spend another $150-$200 on some RAM and a Hard Drive from any reseller for his new G4).

Under the leadership of immigration minister Philip Ruddock, the government of Australia has turned a blind eye to all requests for a serious investigation of Australia's immigration policies and the mandatory detention of people who are legal asylum seekers under international law. These refugees are seeking legal asylum in Australia and are being held in violation of UN directives (which are the law in Australia). Conditions in detention centres must be investigated. Philip Ruddock must step down. Humans rights violations must result in trials.

1880. Create a new Neopet!
Several months ago, neopets.com was forced to change the design of a neopet called Fuzio (nowadays, the Neopet is called Capara), an online poll was held by the neopets staff to determine which of 4 totally new, totally seperate designs should be used as a replacement. Myself and many others believe that, while the choice ultimately made to replace Fuzio was a good one, the first runner up deserves a spot as an actual Neopet as well. This petition will be submitted to the Neopets staff in hopes that the show of support from actual Neopet users will prompt them to officialize this design. 1882. Restore Beef Insulins to The United States
Diabetes is a chronic, fatal disease. Many diabetics must take insulin. Many seem to do fine on Humulin, Novolin Human, Humalog, NovoRapid (Novolog), Lantus and other synthetic insulin types, however, many diabetics need beef insulin, beef-pork insulin or pork insulin (Iletin 1 & 2 insulins). The US FDA and Eli Lilly have elected to make it very difficult for some US, Canadian and all diabetics to be able to obtain insulins which work best for them.
This is an international problem and you don't even have to be a US citizen to help us to help diabetics around the world. Diabetics should not be forced to inject themselves with the waste-products of genetically engineered e. coli bacteria or yeasts. They should be entitled to freedom of choice in insulin that they must inject to live. This petition seeks to get the US Congress to make beef insulin legal in the US. Beef insulin has been the insulin of choice for 80 years and is proven. None of the synthetics have worked so well in managing diabetes.
If you know a diabetic, odds are about 1 in 10 that s/he will eventually need beef insulin to control his/her diabetes (there is absolutely NO BSE mad-cow] risk in any beef insulin according to the most recent research we've read). The FDA reports 8 deaths per month from the synthetics at a 1-10% reporting level.

1885. Bring Youth Wrestling To Chesterfield County Middle Schools
Please take the time to read and sign our petition to have youth wrestling instated into the Chesterfield County athletics program. It is our attempt to collect as many signatures as possible, to present these signatures to the county school board as a show of support for wrestling in our middle schools.
What effect can wrestling have on our children's character development? Success factors in sports, or anything for that matter, are part God-given (i.e. height and size) and part acquired (i.e. endurance).
Success in wrestling depends most on acquired factors, and unlike most other sports, wrestling does not favor athletes of any particular height, size, weight, muscle type, race or social class, and does not rely on superior vision or hearing. Wrestlers learn, by the nature of the sport, that long-term success has much more to do with the investment made than the 'natural' gifts one is given. Wrestlers learn the value of reparation and hard work, and the role it plays in achieving one's goals. Wrestling provides real-life experiences that build and strengthen character.
Is wrestling a dangerous sport? There is a common misperception among the non-wrestling public that wrestling is a very dangerous sport. Perhaps it's the aggressive nature of the sport, association with 'Pro Wrestling', or perhaps fear of the unknown. Several studies have been conducted in recent years that show wrestling to be safer than many more common sports including football, ice hockey and gymnastics. Most notable in these reports, is wrestling's low percentage of serious, permanent and life-threatening injury in relation to other sports. A quote from USA Wrestling Club Organizing Guide has the following to say
about Risk of Injury: In summary, of the many sports your child can participate in, wrestling is perhaps the most misrepresented, misunderstood, and underrated. The ratio of participation to public awareness is remarkably lopsided. 1886. Petition For Standard Referral To Local And/Or National Support Group At Time Of Diagnosis
I had a son who was diagnosed with multiple birth defects and who spent the first 10 months of his life in the hospital. The doctors gave me little information, and in terms that I didn't understand and they didn't refer my family to a support group or other knowledge bank. I felt alone and helpless. Most people who have been diagnosed with medical problems or people with family members who have been diagnosed with medical problems encountered the same problem that I did-- lack of information, no referrals for a support group, no one to turn to who could answer your questions. How many of you didn't find a support group until years later, if at all? How many of us stayed up until 3 a.m. searching the internet for information? How much difference would it have made in your child's care and outcome if you had that information and support? How much difference would it have made to your sanity if you knew that you weren't the only one going through all that you or your family member's medical problems has put you and your family?

1888. International Transfer of Offenders Treaty
This petition is on matters concerning the International Transfer of Offenders Treaty. American prison authorities, both federal and state, have for years violated the Transfer of Offender Treaty rights, including the letter of the treaty, with discrimination, denials, injustices, lack of medical treatment, the list is not exhaustive. Her organization has recieved a Federal hearing by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission)in Washington, DC. This petition, which includes 287,000 signatures, would start a new path to "destruction" for the rights of Christians. Her petition, #2493, is an effort to stop Gospel readings on the airwaves in the USA. If they win this petition, Christmas programs will be eliminated from television and radio. TV shows such as Touched by an Angel will have to cancel. Together, we can stop this from happening. We are hoping for one million signatures. If we do this, we can prove to Madeline Murray O'Hare and her organization that we Christians are still here and that we are not going to back down.
