In the past Barnum High School has employed a State Licensed Guidance Counselor. During the past two years Barnum High School has used a Dean of Students (who is a certified teacher/not educated or licensed as a Guidance Counselor) to fulfill the duties of a Guidance Counselor. The Barnum High School Students deserve a Licensed Guidance Counselor.

The hiring of a Guidance Counsellor is already in the Operating Budget of the school. This change will not eliminate any jobs as the teacher acting as a "Dean of Students" is tenured and will revert back to her teaching duties (without loss of pay or grade). Barnum High School Staff and Students deserve the immediate hiring of a Licensed Guidance Counselor.

The Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center, is a unique facility in the bustling City of Johns Creek GA. It features 46 acres of forest, woodland trails, winding creek, heritage gardens, historic buildings, and animal exhibits.

The beautiful Autrey Mill of today was built over a 20-year period under the leadership of the non-profit Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Association (AMNP) Board and its talented staff, with the vital help of generous public and private supporters, and by harnessing the indispensable work of volunteers.

With the stability provided by a 30-year lease agreement (originally with Fulton County and now with the City of Johns Creek) AMNP has been able to conduct long-range planning; receive major grants; undertake larger, multi-year projects; and accept donations of heirlooms and important historic items. Operating under this lease, the AMNP Board has provided responsible stewardship of the land and continually made improvements.

On March 11, 2009, the City of Johns Creek took the extraordinary step of suing the AMNP non-profit corporation operated by community volunteers. In its lawsuit the City seeks to invalidate the 30-year lease and seeks control over the historic items that have been donated to AMNP over the years.

On September 1998, Donald Kowalski a young man of 22yrs of age with a drug problem committed several B&E's. When his friend was arrested on an unrelated crime he admitted to a number of B&E's in the surrounding area. He implicated Don to save his own skin. He served ONLY 2-1/2 years on the same Conducting a Criminal Enterprise (CCE) charge and now he is on the run for several more crimes.

Instead of charging Don with only the crimes they had evidence of, they charged him under the RICO act, of(CCE)and combined all the charges into one. The problem: every B&E in a 14 county radius was thrown in, thus 50 cases were closed, the detectives basically patted each others back and closed their case load. Under the RICO law it says: #1 Proceeds of a crime are being used in some manner to run a business that continues criminal activity. #2 The criminal activity affects either interstate or foreign commerce, thus a federal crime. #3 The proceeds of such activity can be seized to compensate victims. Donald was unemployed owned no business or property and the crimes all occurred in the Eastern part of Michigan. Don's criminal activity did not meet the statutes as set forth by the RICO act.

However, a scared young man accepted a plea not realizing at the time the ramifications and not having competent counsel to make an informed decision. Before taking the plea he had not been informed that because he had 2 priors of UDAA and B&E at he age of 16, which they held it over until he turned 17 and tried him as an adult from 4 years previously that he would be charged as a habitual offender. Thus he was sentenced to a 20yr minimum and 40yr maximum. A single count of B&E carries up to 10 years. Run concurrently, even 14 counts, he would have maxed out over a year ago. Don has served over 11yrs now.

Since Donald's imprisonment he has achieved high honors in all his course studies, obtained his GED, Certificate of Completion for Substance Abuse, Narcotics Anonymous, Degree in Agriculture, Certification for Ordained Ministry, S.L.F Course for Owning and Operating a Business and Perfect Attendance.

I have researched many cases by far are worse than his. Such as: 2nd degree murder, out in ten yrs. 6 counts of embezzlement, served 3-1/2yrs. and 4 counts of criminal sexual conduct, served 8 yrs. 2 counts 1st degree home invasion, 2 counts safecracking, unarmed robbery, served only 5 years.

In addition, Donald has secured an offer of employment and a place of residence. Donald has been rehabilitated and has come to the point where release is the best alternative. His sentencing was severe, especially for a non-violent offender with only two priors as a juvenile. It is time for Donald to come home, his wishes are to be with his son and family. We are requesting your support.

Mac users are aware that there is a current version of MSN, however this is the most basic version you could expect as this has no Winks, Nudges, Webcams, Voice Clips, Background images and everything else.

Prior to January 1, 2007, Garden Ridge and some of the other units were operating Monday through Friday and weekend working schedules. The Units were operating with less staff, salaries were less and overtime for pay for staff was limited.

As regard to weekend staff, staff was able to provide more community activities for the residents and because of these activities residents were contented.

At the present time, as a result of changing to patterns, excessive overtime for pay is prevailing, more employees are quitting their positions, absenteeism now exists and in due time all this will directly affect the residents.

We would like to request a few minutes of your time to address a critical problem that, with your help, may be greatly diminished. It is a Noise Level Control problem.

There are two Clubs "Las Vegas Sports Club" and "Las Teja Restaurant & Bar" that are operating out of 1075 Portion Road from the hours of 8 P.M. to 3:30 A.M. Tuesday thru Sunday. It is a complex issue involving a number of factors. The one we'd like to address is the ongoing problem with both clubs playing loud music that is affecting our sleep and disrupting our lives and affecting the quality of life.

Another serious problem related to these two clubs is that drugs are being sold in the parking lot and that patrons are/may be leaving in an intoxicated or drugged state and are operating their vehicles through our neighborhoods causing a dangerous and potentially deadly environment for our local residents and public.

We have contacted the Town of Brookhaven, Code Enforcement Dept and 911 to assist the residents with some relief when the music gets out of control. When the officers request the business owners to lower the volume they comply, however once the officers leave the location the club owners raise the volume up on the music again and it remains that way until we call 911 again.

Mr. Kingsley Rodrigo, Chairman of People's Action for Free and Fair Elections' (PAFFREL) Sri Lanka has alleged at a press Conferance held by PAFFREL on the 15th March in Colombo that there are Muslim paramilitary groups operating in the Eastern Region of Sri Lanka and he has named 'Jihad'and 'Jamath E Islami' as two of the paramilitary groups.

He has claimed he can produce evidence to backup and confirm his claims. The Inspector General of Police has denied that there are any armed Muslim groups and the Muslims too have denied its existance. The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka has in a letter to the PAFFREL Chief challenged him to produce the evidence he has within 07 seven days.

On the branch campuses, where many of the students are non-traditional, have jobs, families, and responsibilities other than being full time college students, our Library has let us down.

We, who work, raise families, and have other responsibilities that take up our time throughout the week, and only have the weekends to utilize the Libraries as facilities for study, learning, and as a hub to our educational experience are shut out! The Branch Campus Libraries' hours are all shorter on the weekend than throughout the week.

This is a terrible example of discrimination based on the status of the non-traditional students. It is unfortunate that the University is so intolerant and unresponsive to the needs of students, but as exemplified in Issue I, The Ohio State University is not interested in us, in our educations, or our lives…The Ohio State University is only interested in generating revenue and doing what is easiest for them!

We need to act! Attached is a petition seeking to force The Ohio State University Marion to offer the same hours of operation for the Library on the weekends as throughout the week, thereby ending the discrimination inherent in this policy toward non-traditional students.

I've created this petition to try to get Microsoft to create a patch to allow older (Windows 95/98) programs workable.

As almost all computer owners are aware, there are many games, as well as other applications, that were made before Windows XP was released, and will not work with Windows XP.

Countless dollars have gone into buying computer games, with the idea that you will always have the game to play. As time went on, Windows 95 turned to 98, and that evolved into ME. My first computer was a Windows 95, which I upgraded to 98, and all of my games worked. I soon bought a new computer with Windows ME on it, and many of my games still worked just fine. Then came Windows XP.

Upgrading to XP is pretty unavoidable, as all new programs are mainly manufactured for XP use. With upgrading to XP, you are losing the ability to play older computer games. I presonally have over 150 games that I am unable to play now. I probably spent an average of $10-$20 each on them, so that is alot of now wasted money.

I am now hesitant to buy any games for my new computer because they may not work in the next version of Windows.

Please, sign this petition to help me in my struggle to get Microsoft to develop a way to play older games on the computer.

We, citizens of Europe, ask our representatives in the European Parliament to vote in favour of a European law which will protect European consumers.

This law forces computer manufacturers to supply the operating system on a media (CD-ROM or DVD-ROM) separate from the computer's hardware. Furthermore, this law adds minimal rights concerning the use of operating systems: the operating system must be used on a single computer, but this computer may change over time; the operating system may be installed and used on a laptop computer if the user already owns a licence for a desktop computer. This law must guarantee that the individual has the right to choose, freely, his or her operating system and the computer in which that operating system will be used.

This measure must allow the consumers to reinstall the operating system under the following conditions:

- my hard drive has been destroyed and I have to buy a new one;

- I'm buying a new computer and I certify that my old computer is disabled and that it has not been sold or given to a third party.

We recognise that software publishers have the right to protect themselves against software piracy, but not at the expense of the citizens. They must find a way to counter software piracy which does not have a negative impact on the citizens.

Let's collect 100,000 signatures in United Kingdom, in Ireland, and more than ONE million in Europe.

The whole world realized how destructive terrorism
could be after the September 11th attack. The paradise
island of Sri Lanka had been experiencing similar
attacks for the last 18 years resulting untold
hardship to all the ethnic groups, but the world never
paid any attention to the reality for so long enabling
LTTE terrorists to get stronger day by day. Though
late and a major damage is done, the UK government did
identify terrorist organizations which are operating
from the British soil and banned them following the US
footsteps. Obviously notorious LTTE was included in
the list of terrorist groups banned in the UK
completely destroying the claim of LTTE being a group
of freedom fighters and labeling them as terrorists
rightly so, due to the activities they have been
involved in the past. While all the peace loving Sri
Lankans would like to pay gratitude to the UK
government and its officials who took the first step
of fighting against terrorism, there are a lot more
work needs to be done. It is a very well known fact
that the LTTE operates several offices and some of
their key personalities are still based in the UK
providing them a safe heaven to plan, raise funds and
carry out more and more barbaric attacks against
humanity. The only way to stop them from doing so is
by closing all their offices and arresting the LTTE
leaders including their theoretician Dr. Anton
Balasigham and Mrs. Balasingham, who is an Austrian.
It should be noted that Mr. Balasingham holds a
British passport that is being heavily used to gather
international terrorist momentum. In addition to
arresting and charging him on terrorism counts, he
should be charged by immigration authorities for
illegally leaving the UK soil and entering other
countries. The most recent case being his entry into
the war zone in Sri Lanka and returning to the UK via
Thailand by illegal means. All the other LTTE front
organizations and their leaders also should be treated
the same way before it is too late. As shown in the
recent past, community unrest is popping up in the UK
and it will not take a very long time for the LTTE to
start a separatist movement in the UK along with
similar claim in Canada.

Once again, the leader of the LTTE terrorists Mr.
Velupillae Prabakaran is trying to side step and buy
more time until the dust settles of the US attacks by
claiming that he is "willing" to consider a settlement
short of a separate state. Even though the media has
given a vast coverage to that statement we should not
forget the fact that it is a very ambiguous statement
and he has never kept his proclaimed commitments in
the past. To start with, he purposely used the word
"willing" in his statement, which does not have any
binding. At the beginning of the Norwegian peace
efforts he committed to start peace talks without any
pre-conditions but later started putting up one
condition after the other. So the only way forward is
to shrink his international network by closing all the
front organizations and arresting leaders operating
openly. In that sense the UK government is better
equipped than any other EU members to lead from the
front. It should be noted that if Afghanistan is
guilty of harboring Mr. Osama Bin Laden and his Al
Quaida network, the UK government and other
governments in the world who keep a blind eye to the
LTTE activities in their own backyards are also guilty
of the same crime. Of course Sri Lanka is not a super
power but how can anyone justify over 62,000 deaths in
Sri Lanka in addition to infrastructure damages worth
hundreds of billions of dollars?. After all, the core
issue of discrimination is not only confined to the
Tamil community. Each and every citizen of Sri Lanka
except a select few multi millionaires are
discriminated regardless whether he or she is
Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim or Burger. The only way out
is a complete destruction of the LTTE terrorism with
the assistance of the international community and a
free and fair political culture in which every Sri
Lankan can live in dignity.

We urge the UK government to proceed to the next step
of fighting against terrorism by arresting the leaders
and closing terrorist networks particularly the LTTE
which is the largest such group operating on the
British soil.

The Lexmark 1100 is used by many people who also use Windows 2000. Unfortunately, this combination will not work. Lexmark refuses to recognize Windows 2000 as an operating system that home users would install. In fact, in a Lexmark 1100 Info Sheet published by Lexmark Canda, Inc. (a division of Lexmark International) in 1998 stated that the 1100 would support Windows NT 4.0. (You can find this at http://www.lexmark.com/canada/pdf/1100spec.pdf) Now, almost 3 years later, that support has yet to come. This petition is designed to help them work faster.
