Petition Tag - munyaradzi gwisai

Zimbabwean human rights activists Munyaradzi Gwisai, Tafadzwa Antonater Choto, Hopewell Gumbo, Tatenda Mombeyarara, Edson Chakuma, and Welcome Zimuto were arrested on February 19 for having organised a video showing in Harare about the democracy struggle in Egypt.

They have been charged with treason, which is a capital offence in Zimbabwe.

The original arrests involved 45 people. Of those, 39 have now been freed with all charges dropped.
