1. Bring GTA 5 to Manchester

GTA has been in a global phenomenom for since 1997, it has featured locations based on New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco. Not to mention smaller locations such as Chinatown, New Jersey and London in 1969.

The time has come to inject some international flavour to the series by bringing it to the United Kingdom and more importantly Manchester.

2. Fairer Prices at Tesco Kennington Park Road

Tesco on Kennington Park Road has been open for a nearly a year. Most people living nearby do the majority of their shopping in this Tesco local due to time constraints and a lack of personal transport.

There are hardly any value products in store any more and alot of prices are higher than the bigger supermarkets.

The store is so busy they have even added a self service till. We feel that the loyal customer base they have built up over this year deserve to be treated fairly.

3. 20 mph speed limit for Lambeth residential streets

Lambeth’s road casualty figures are some of the highest in the UK. Of all the 32 boroughs in London only Westminster and Barnet have more casualties on the roads. Lambeth has the second highest casualty rate in London for both pedestrians and cyclists. (See: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/Cycling/casualties-in-greater-london-2010.pdf ) A third of the worst spots for collisions involving cyclists in London, are found in Lambeth ( http://lambethgreennews.blogspot.com/2011/10/lambeth-and-southwark-account-for-half.html )

A study conducted at monitoring sites across the capital in 2009 showed roads in Lambeth were among those to exceed recommended levels of nitrogen dioxide, a toxic gas that can cause health problems. Brixton Road, Christchurch Road in Tulse Hill, the Bondway Interchange in Vauxhall and Streatham High Road all had levels above the recommended limits.

20 mph speed limits have been proven by several studies to significantly reduce road accidents. They also encourage cycling and walking, reduce carbon emissions by helping the flow of traffic and improve air quality. Slower speeds also promote social inclusion and access to transport, particularly for those with mobility, vision and hearing impairments.

Already 7m residents in the UK live in towns which are adopting or have adopted this policy. It is time that Lambeth did too. (For more information see here: http://www.20splentyforus.org.uk/ )

4. Save Stratford Children's Library

The children's library at Stratford Library is a vital community resource and an important and necessary investment in the children and young people of our community, where children from babies to teens gather to read, explore, and learn.

Current plans will drastically reduce the size of this space after a six-month closure from 1st October 2011. The community was not consulted in the plans for our library.

The Stratford children's library is heavily used in its current size. In a reduced size it would become over-crowded and would drive children and parents away.

The destruction of our treasured children's library space will be a disinvestment from a whole generation of young people and could have devastating long-term effects. It represents a betrayal of Newham's pledge to invest in our young people and regenerate our community.

5. Impeach Bob Blackman, MP

Directors of a company told lies to their workers about the financial state of the organization and abused an invoice factoring service by submitting large numbers of invoices for goods that were never manufactured.

They then took advantage of loopholes in Employment law to withhold wages and cheat employees out of money owed, leaving them poorer, stressed, suffering sleepless nights, and ultimately unemployed.

Harrow East MP, Bob Blackman was asked to take action in this case; but instead procrastinated and failed to have the aforementioned Directors struck off, failed to pass legislation to close the legal loopholes, ignored calls for an inquiry into this scandal, and instead claimed that this issue is "not in the public interest". He now refuses to answer further correspondence about this scandal.

Therefore, we say that this matter is in the public interest, that Bob Blackman has failed to represent the concerns of his constituents, and therefore should resign or be impeached from Public office. More details here.

7. Empower the police to stop the riots

The riots starting in London and across the UK are due to opportunistic criminals who are an embarrassment to our country. Innocent citizens are paying the price, homes are being burnt down and livelihoods lost. We have a history of criticising our own police who in turn are afraid to use the necessary force required in these critical situations.

The police are putting their lives at risk and are not receiving the recognition or support they deserve. The media are quick to publicise negative stories about the police but this is not what the majority of the population feel. Most of the public are supportive of the police and this is the opportunity to be heard.

This aim of this petition is to show the government and police that they have our FULL support to use whatever measures necessary to keep order in this country.

10. Petition for a cricket facility for London, Ontario

Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world, in terms of participation and spectators. It is played in every part of the English-speaking world and in several non-English-speaking countries.

Cricket also has a long and distinguished history in Canada, where it was the most popular sport until the 20th Century. Sir. John A. Macdonald liked it enough to declare it the national sport of Canada. Moreover, the first ever cricket match was played on Canadian soil in 1785. Cricket is also a part of London's heritage. The "Eldon House Diaries" indicate that cricket matches were a regular occurrence in this city. Aside from being an integral part of our heritage, Cricket is regaining its relevance to Canada.

Our national team has made it to the World Cup several times and talented Canadian players are starting to get noticed on the world stage, despite the fact that Canada has no major cricketing facilities. Immigration is also increasing cricket's relevance with major cricket-playing nations accounting for a bulk of new Canadians. Currently, Londoners have to make do with playing in empty parking lots, indoor gyms, baseball diamonds and backyards.

Despite the lack of facilities, several informal cricketing clubs - composed of university students, other post-secondary students, and working professionals - exist in the London area. If any Londoners want to engage in a formal game of cricket, they have to travel to Toronto, Waterloo or Windsor, which are cities that have public cricketing facilities. London will benefit from a local cricket facility. It will attract business in the form of organized cricket matches with teams from other parts of Ontario.

A cricketing facility will also render London a more attractive destination for those who are considering studying, working or traveling here.

12. Boris: Install mirrors that save cyclists lives (Petition for Paula)

On April 5th 2011, on a clear afternoon long before rush hour, London cyclist and student Paula Jurek was knocked down and killed by a lorry turning left from Camden Road into St Pancras Way. She was just twenty.

She joins many other cyclists killed or gravely injured in the same circumstances in London, but if you click the image above to sign this petition for Paula, and many others, you can help ensure this doesn't happen again.

Her death could have been prevented by three things, one of which is so cheap and simple it could be done tomorrow.

As Boris Johnson tries to coax more cyclists onto our roads, he must also make the same effort to keep them safe. Here’s how:

1. MIRRORS FOR LORRY DRIVERS: In 2010, Mr Johnson introduced "Trixi" mirrors, mounted at junctions to give lorry drivers greater visibility on their left sides and to prevent these kinds of accidents.

But he installed only 39 of these mirrors for the entire capital.

He said they would be "reviewed", but their effectiveness has already been demonstrated in Europe. In January, he was asked when this review would be available. His answer: "TfL will shortly be discussing the results of the trial… to retain the existing mirrors and to install further mirrors." That was January. Where are the results? Where are the mirrors?

Both lorry drivers and cyclists have agreed the mirrors are a big help. Even the Deputy Chair of London's Transport Committee and one of Mr Johnson's own colleagues, Caroline Pidgeon, says these mirrors are an important part of improving cycle safety. But Boris has stalled.

The mirrors do not cost much to install or maintain, and the process involves no disruption. They save lives. We need more, now.

2. CITY TRAINING FOR LORRY DRIVERS: Lorry drivers cannot always see cyclists. While a few London boroughs have specifically trained lorry drivers to watch for them on the capital’s busy and sometimes narrow roads, most boroughs still haven’t.

3. SAFE CYCLE ROUTES IN CAMDEN: There are few provisions for cyclists in Camden, yet many students and young people bike there every day. Camden's roads are packed and its cyclists need safe cycle lanes and cycle boxes. The junction at which Paula died has only one cycle box. Why? It should have three.

Camden Councillor Paul Braithwaite has been pushing TfL to improve cycling provisions where Paula died. "There are far too many deaths on Camden Road," he says.

14. Mayor must keep transparently his promise to improve WEZ air quality

Clean Air in London wrote to the Mayor of London on 3 December 2010 saying it was considering suing him over the air pollution consequences of removing the western extension of the congestion charging zone (WEZ). The Mayor had estimated that some 30,000 vehicles per day would return to the area if the WEZ was removed.

In response, the Mayor has promised that air quality in the area formerly covered by the WEZ will be improved relative to 2010 as a result of mitigation measures he would take. The WEZ was removed on 4 January 2011.

There is a serious risk that one or more of the three monitoring stations that measure and report local air quality will be closed making it difficult to assess the situation.

You may wish to sign the petition because you live in the area formerly covered by the WEZ and are worried about your health or that of your children or, wherever you live, just because you want the Mayor to keep his promises.

More details can be seen on the Campaign for Clean Air in London's website and the London Air Quality Network. Clean Air in London is the legal entity responsible for the Campaign for Clean Air in London.

15. UK UNCUT

UK Uncut call for Tax Evaders to be held accountable to the state and pay their dues when it comes to taxes.

UK Uncut research show that the UK Government have paid out £1 trillion to save banks from collapse.

Barclays Bank recorded Just over £11 Billion in Profits yet paid a mere £120 million in tax, they should pay nearly 30 times that!!!!.

Sir Philip Green managed to evade £300 million in UK tax by moving it around offshore accounts, this money could pay for 20,000 qualified nurses salaries or 36,000 hiked up students fees.

In 2010 Boots paid £14 million in corporation tax to the UK due to offshore banking, despite years earlier being bailed out by the UK taxpayer.

Vodaphone....... probably the biggest culprit, managed to evade paying £6 billion in UK Tax, work out the math and you will soon realise that these corporations are making a mockery out of you and the this country!.

Additional Tax Evaders are: RBS/Natwest,Tescos, Cadbury, Walkers and Dieago.

17. Stop the Greenwich Traffic Gyratory

At the start of 2011, Cabinet Members of Greenwich Council will vote on whether to proceed with plans to part-pedestrianise the town centre that will result in the implementation of a 1.8km one-way dual carriage traffic gyratory system through the heart of the West Greenwich Conservation Area.

This is contrary to the vast amounts of money being invested by TfL and other enlightened London Council's who are removing such failed 1960's gyratories as found at Wandsworth, Aldgate, Brixton, New Cross and even Picadilly after the pedestrianisation of Trafalgar Square.

Gyratories are proven to create speeding in the good times, increased congestion in the bad times, rat-running through residential roads, severance of local communities and destruction of businesses.

18. Oppose the proposed UKCMRI medical research lab on Brill Place

The proposed lab betrays the precautionary principle by facilitating extensive research on dangerous human viruses right beside one of the major transport hubs of the UK and Europe.

The democratically agreed Camden council planning brief for the Brill Place site (empty land behind the British Library) calls for:

* any development to contain at least 50% housing by floorspace, of which 50% should be affordable housing;
community facilities on the site;

* the development to be permeable, not one solid block.

The proposed development contains not one home; a limited, token community offering and there is no permeability through this high-security facility.

19. Save Grove Park Library

Grove Park Library, London SE12, is an essential free service for all our community, regardless of age or cultural background. It is especially important for children, local schools and older residents.
We believe that there are other areas where Lewisham Council could more usefully save money, rather than removing this valuable resource for the community.

20. A Living Wage for Southwark's workers

Cleaners, carers and other people working for Southwark Council contracts are currently paid less than the basic amount you need to get by in London - the London Living Wage. This is currently £7.85 per hour, or about £15,000 a year.

In 2008 the Green Party introduced a policy, supported by the Labour Party, to pay workers the living wage as contracts came up. But it has never been implemented.

22. Keep Our Crossing

Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, has announced that 145 pedestrian crossings across London will be removed.

One of those crossings is on Lewisham Way, the removal of which will make crossing the road to St. John's station and St. John's medical centre more hazardous for pedestrians, especially older people, people in wheel chairs and parents with prams.

We are petitioning the Mayor of London to reverse this decision and keep this much used crossing.

23. Save Tideway Village

Londoners - help us save Tideway Village houseboat community.

We all love London for its special locations, squares of historic houses, green parks, second hand markets, unexpected gems such as Neal’s Yard, Little Venice and Portobello Road to name but a few. Just some of the attractions that give London its individual character and helps draw so many tourists.

Yet recent developments are threatening to transform the city for good into a highrise, sterile, impersonal landscape of concrete and glass with a chain store at every corner, a soulless world where inhabitants never greet their neighbour. Canary Wharf and St George's Wharf may be the best examples of what the centre of London will look like; alien space stations hovering in the middle of the city.

24. Wales to represent TeamGB Football at London 2012

The English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish football associations have agreed that only one FA should represent Team GB in 2012; I propose that Wales should replace England. Wales consistently fail to qualify for major championships and should be given an opportunity.

England consistently fail at major championships and risk the reputation of TeamGB for commitment and sportsmanship. Wales will positively represent a united GB.

NM has been taken away, from custody of her father, by Social Services in Westminster Council in London.

This followed the illness of her mother a few years back. EM was assessed for three months to check if he will be a good father, following that he was offered the full resident status. NM was returned to custody of her father in 2003. Family was assessed every six months until 2008. NM did not do well in school, due to social instability and she was not supported enough by School. Based on this, and on some teenage and repelion of NM's brother and other issues, Social security has sought a court ruling to take NM back last year. EM is well known to Sudanese Community as being of good standing.

He wants his children to grow up with some Sudanese cultural core values without compromise of the British norms.

City University has closed the prayer room that the Muslim students have been using for over a decade now and intend to move the Muslim students to a Multi-Faith prayer room located in the basement of the main building. (next to the kitchens)

The problems are the following:-
- Room is far too small compared to the current room
- Room is a multi-faith prayer room which Muslims cannot pray in as other gods are worshiped in the same room.
- The washing facilities are inadequate to cater for the needs of a Muslim which are essential before the prayer.
- Booking of the room must be done prior the use which clearly limits the time and duration of the prayer.
- It is a violation of the Human Rights Act 1998 in particular to the right to freedom of religion
