1. Lights for skatepark at West Wood
The skateboarders need lights!!!! The City of San Antonio has invested in making skateparks. This is a beautiful thing.
Just one problem though. There are no lights at West Wood Skatepark in San Antonio, Texas.
2. Longbridge roundabout Horley, remove traffic lights for good
Longbridge roundabout in Horley is at the junction of the A23 and the A217, along with a small local road. This roundabout has a set of traffic lights that when operating cause considerable congestion.
This causes delays to peoples journeys and an increase in local CO2 emissions due to traffic jams. This must amount to hundreds of tonnes per month. When the lights are turned off, traffic flows freely. These lights serve no purpose.
3. Support Traffic Lights at School Intersection
There have been several near-miss situations with respect to pedestrians and vehicular traffic. Heavy traffic patterns throughout various times of the day result in long wait periods for drivers travelling east/west or turning left to travel north/south.
Current crosswalk light system is insufficient for the following reasons:
1. Safety of pedestrians and school crossing guards during peak school traffic periods.
2. Safety of pedestrians during non-peak school traffic periods.
3. Vehicular traffic has increased significantly, rendering present crosswalk light insufficient.
4. Vehicular traffic uses intersection as 4-lane, instead of 2-lane. Many drivers go around a vehicle turning left without taking the crosswalks into consideration.
5. Development continuing in the area which will increase vehicular traffic.
4. Light Arbolitos Sports Park - Poway, CA
By lighting Arbolitos Sports Park from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. it allows two additional 1.5 hour practice sessions where we can schedule 6 teams per session thereby allowing us to triple our practice time on Arbolitos for the Fall and Winter months.
Lighting Arbolitos will open fields to other sporting groups and maximizes the sports programs for all of Poway's youth athletes.
Current traffic law 1174 does not address the consequences of ignoring the reds of a school bus and causing injury or death to a child.
Vale of Ah Dog park is used extensively by residents that fall within the Bankstown City Council's region. The park provides a place for residents to exercise their dogs in a safe and responsible manner.
Due to the cessation of daylight savings and the absence of lighting at the park, residents' usage of the park is extremely limited.
7. Stop Constructing the Flat Branch Sports Complex
Stop Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation and the South Charlotte Soccer Association from Constructing the Flat Branch Sports Complex by Polo Ridge Elementary School
In 2001, the land by Polo Ridge Elementary School was purchased in 2001 with 1999 General Obligation Bonds with the intent of developing a community park and nature preserve. In 2004, CMS identified this land known as the Flat Branch site as a location they wanted to pursue for a joint school and park. That same year, the voters agreed on a bond package, which included money to jointly develop athletic complexes. Parks & Rec solicited bids to develop the land and allegedly the only one that responded was the South Charlotte Soccer Association (SCSA).
The North Carolina Open Public Meetings Act requires the Mecklenburg Parks & Rec to put this community on proper notice of the full extent of its plans. The only meeting that ever took place was in October of 2007; however, at this meeting, Parks & Rec failed to provide the Community with a copy of the SCSA proposal that included stadium lights, concession stand, PA system, and restrooms. In addition, Parks and Rec failed to provide this Community with the Master Plan with the lights diagramed to review at that meeting. Parks & Rec failed to provide us with information that would allow us to have an open discourse on the full impact SCSA’s plans would have on our children’s safety, parking, noise, lights, property values, etc.. No one in this community knew that the lights are going to remain on until 10:30 pm almost every day during the week for half the year. We also have note been advised as to how they will handle parking.
What was originally supposed to be a community park is now turning into a sports complex with up to 12 stadium light poles, a concession stand, restrooms & perhaps a PA sound system.
8. Join Earth Hour, Mormon Temple of Oakland
The Mormon Temple in Oakland shines bright all night every day of the year. The energy used to keep the lights on is tremendous.
We are asking the Mormon church to join the rest of the world in turning off the lights for just 60 minutes on March 28 from 8:30-9:30 pm. Cities around the world have committed to join in this statement of energy awareness.
Indeed, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the City of Lights, are joining over 400 cities in 74 countries around the world in this simple yet powerful statement against climate change and wasteful energy consumption.
9. Pedestrian Crosswalk Signal On Tranquille Road and Southill Street
A recent death has opened my eyes to the dangerous intersection of Tranquille Road and Southill Street and the need for a pedestrian crosswalk signal.
On the evening of January 31st 2009, a young man was hit while using a crosswalk at Tranquille Road and Southill Street. He was pronounced dead at the Royal Inland hospital. Speed and alcohol were not involved in this accident. This intersection has a confusing turning lane, which caused the pedestrian to be obscured from through traffic by a turning vehicle. A vehicle going through the intersection hit the pedestrian while he was crossing.
There is heavy traffic flow along Tranquille Road because it is the quickest way to and from the airport. I myself have experienced one of the many “close calls” that happen at this intersection.
This area in Brocklehurst is a walking community since there is a high school, a elementary school and a Boy and Girls club just down Southill and a large shopping complex including; a grocery store, a pharmacy, a thrift store, a movie store, a gym, convience store, a bakery, a salon, a pizza shop and others. Also in the area are apartment buildings and retirement homes. These are all within walking distance of the crosswalk on Tranquille Road.
As concerned residents of Kamloops especially Brocklehurst, we should NOT WAIT until another member of our community is lying in the road dead from lack of pedestrian visibility. Now is the time to act to prevent such a tragedy from occurring again.
10. Lighting for the alley running parallel to Maindy Road
In the last week there have been three muggings on the alley way running parallel to Maindy Road up to the gate of Cambrian Point, leading out onto North Road. Two of these have involved personal violence.
The alley-way in question at night is virtually pitch black and it is hard to see where you are going, let alone see if there are people around.
The residents of Maindy road have also suffered from a spate of burglaries.
11. Clopper Road and Waring Station Road heading into Germantown
This is a petition to put lights on Clopper and Waring Station Road heading into Germantown. It is a very dangerous road at night.
There are several accidents that have occurred on this road and some of the accidents have resulted in people losing there life. I was riding with my mom on this road and at night the visibility in it is very hard.
12. Lighting the Stadium Field at Darien High School
DHS Lights Information Committe:
The DHS Lights Information Committee is providing the facts about plans currently
under consideration by the Board of Education to place lights on the Stadium Field at Darien High School.
13. Remove Police Mobile Camera at entrance to Heron Drive
There is often a mobile police camera unit situated at the traffic lights at the entrance to Heron Drive on Parlaunt Road, Langley, Slough.
This camera parks but no speed camera warning signs are displayed on Parlaunt Road.
14. STOP The Removal of The CROSS and BLOOD from Soul Chasers Prayer & Outreach Center
HELP SAVE OUR CROSS AND ARTWORK depicting the BLOOD of JESUS. Soul Chasers Prayer and Outreach Center has only been open in Amarillo, Texas since May 1st, 2005. We completely renovated our building which we lease from the San Jacinto Masonic Lodge No. 1330, the Masons welcomed our Christian Evangelistic Ministry with open arms.
The Master of the Lodge gave his approval on behalf of the Lodge for the placement of the Cross on the roof. In addition approval was granted for the painting of the cross on our back door. The Master of the lodge in agreement with our Lease gave us full aproval to paint the outside of the building and create signs and artwork.
The only sign on the building which is on the front wall, consisting of a flat plywood board, was painted in red paint with "JESUS SAVES" written on it. On the corner of the building and directly under the rooftop cross our artist painted red blood flowing down the side of the building. Written inside the red paint are different quotes, concerning the Blood of Jesus, such as "The Blood of Jesus Sets you Free".
Upon completion of all the outside artwork the Master of the Lodge advised us to cease from any further painting, as members of the lodge had complained about the blood artwork. They found the Blood artwork to be disturbing. The Director of our organization contacted the City of Amarillo Code Enforcement Department to obtain what rules, regulations and laws pertained to all the work done during the renovation of the building.
Per the City of Amarillo, no permits were needed for the artwork, as it is not considered to be signage under city ordinances. String lighting (Christmas lights) were placed on the border of the roof outlining it in white lighting. The Cross was lit up with red christmas lights. These lights are not regulated by the Code Enforcement Department and are not considered to be electrical work which normally needs permits and inspections.
On August 15, 2005 Six months into our lease we received notifcation from our Landlord - San Jacinto Masonic Lodge No. 1330, that they wanted the Cross removed from the roof, the Cross removed from the back door. They found the lighting on the cross and roof to be a hazard (in their opinion) and therefore disconnected all lights.
They demand immediate removal of all artwork painted with red paint on the outside of the building. The sign and the artwork of the Blood of Jesus. They state that their membership voted on the issue and want it all removed. They state that it violates the Grand Lodge laws which prohibits the Lodges from placement of any signs or emblems denoting a particular religion.
We are in full compliance with our lease agreement. During the renovation and placement of the artwork and crosses the Master of the Lodge and other members were involved and get informed on a daily basis. They consistly gave their approval for all our work, citing we had done a wonderful job and they were very pleased to have us as tenants.
In addition, the supplied equipment such as ladders for us to place the cross on the roof, and to install the lighting. The Master was constantly encouraging us to paint the outside of the building (since it was in poor condition) and told us to paint whatever we wanted. Furthermore, we had even negotiated with the Lodge about possibly renovated a large historical murial on the North wall of the building, which had started to peel and fade.
We presented them with plans of painting a depiction of Jesus Christ surrounded by drug addicts, prostitues and homeless people. The Master of the Lodge stated we had his approval.
Upon consulting with City Officials and our Attorneys, we our in full compliance with the law and followed proper procedure for approval per our lease agreement.
We therefore refuse to comply with the demands for the removal of these items. In addition, we request your support in standing with us on this issue. The Masonic Lodge is only offended by the Christian emblems of the Cross and the Blood of Jesus, because they despise both and teach against them.
The members of the Masonic Lodge are the only individuals that have made any negative comments about our artwork. The cross and the Blood artwork have drawn the comments and attention of every person that frequents sixth street in Amarillo, Texas.
We have been overwhelmed with compliments from all types of people from various faiths, beliefs and backgrounds. The cross and the Blood Artwork have become the Outreach's Identity as it is located on Historic Route 66 amongst Antique shops, biker bars and clubs. We will stand strong for the CROSS and we Proclaim once again that THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
We will not back down from what we belief is our right and priviledge to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus, the Death on the Cross, the atonement of our Sins throught the Blood of Jesus and by his death we obtain Salvation, and through Jesus only, not by works or by any other human means.
We are justified and washed in the Blood of Jesus. Satan ! Masons ! You are defeated in Jesus Name and we proclaim Victory so that the Lost may be Saved.
15. Sports Lights for the MP III clubhouse
We have a new clubhouse that opened up for our section of the development. We would like to add sports lights to the tennis and basketball courts. The other 2 clubhouses have these sports lights and many residents would greatly appreciate and benefit have the lights.
16. Install Lights at Provinces Park
We, the undersigned, residents of and around the Provinces, parents, and friends of children who are members of JPYO, would like to petition Anne Arundel County to install lights at Provinces Park. In the past some criminal activity has taken place in the park, i.e. the concession stand has been broken into, etc...
Installing lights will deter some, if not all, criminal activity, making the Park a safe place for families and residents in general.
Please make the Provinces Park safer for our children, their parents, family and friends and the residents of and around The Provinces, Severn, MD.
17. Oppose Artificial Turf And Lights At Heather School
The San Carlos Parks and Recreation Commission voted on April 7th to recommend replacement of the natural grass field at Heather Elementary School with synthetic turf and field lighting.
18. Road Closure at Westwood Dr & Margin Dr W
As the William Floyd Parkway has seen more and more conjestion and traffic, drivers have decided to take alternate routes to by-pass traffic lights. It has become an increasing problem with development in the surrounding area. For example; the new Head Start opening, the opening of Home Depot, and extra traffic lights have added to the already serious problem. Numorous accidents have happened in our residential neighborhood just off of William Floyd Parkway.
Our main fear is that our children are at risk of being the fatality that will bring attention to this issue of speeding vehicles on residential streets. So before that happens a solution must be found.
19. Holy Bible in every American school
1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters.
1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament:
and it was so.
1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself,
upon the earth: and it was so.
1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind:
and God saw that it was good.
1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for
seasons, and for days, and years:
1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open
firmament of heaven.
1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every
winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and
it was so.
1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind:
and God saw that it was good.
1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over
the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the
fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have
given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

We the residents of Cane Estate request the installation of street lights in this neighborhood in order to deter criminal activities and promote safety for the residents.
21. Farndon A46 access - Farndon crossroads should have traffic lights
Farndon village residents have to negotiate the A46 when entering or leaving the village. This trunk road is extremely busy and at times perilous. We believe that there needs to be traffic lights at Farndon crossroads to alleviate the risk and prevent any further accidents and subsequent loss of life.
