Le gouvernement francais vient de regrouper Radio France Internationale et France 24, et cherchant à diminuer ses coûts risque de fermer l'antenne RFI en Jamaïque. Il conseille aux auditeurs francophones d'utiliser les ondes courtes.
The French government is merging France 24 and RFI, and in a bid to cut costs, might close RFI in Jamaica, asking the listeners to listen to it on shortwave radio.
2. Action on litter in Kingston upon Thames
Kingston is a wonderful place but is marred by too much litter.
I'd like the council to take more proactive action to tackle litter.

Bad road, poor infrastructure, no road surface.
5. Raven’s Ait Petition For Community Use
Due to the need for urgent environmental action. We have occupied an island in The Thames.
In these times of rising tides and melting ice shelves, we thought we should get a bit closer to studying the watery world and its rise.
Ravens Ait Island is a unique wedding and conference centre with halls, many rooms, workshop spaces, kitchens and gardens. On an enchanting island in The Thames near Kingston, (opposite Hampton Court). Which we are transforming into an Eco Conference Centre.
Come visit, help, book in to run a skill sharing workshop and put it on the timetable. Network it. There will be an ongoing discussion here “how do we find SOLUTIONS to the environmentally critical situation we face?”
6. Private Home Daycare Expansion
Currently, Private Home Daycare laws only allow 5 children in addition to the providers own at any given time.
In the past, Kingston, Ontario had a trial period where we were allowed to take up to 14 children and hire staff accordingly.
I think it's time for this trial to be re-introduced! With the changing times and the high demand for infant spaces, I feel we can quickly and effectively make a huge difference in the childcare field!
Please Note: Not every private home daycare would be ran like this, the current law would still exist. We would be introducing the option to operate a large family day home (with a permit) for those who are interested. (This would be monitored/licensed care, like a center) Each home would be assessed separately and according to it's size, etc. (This is currently being done in Manitoba and Saskatchewan and works quite well.)
My personal thoughts: I believe this would be a good way to accumulate additional infant spaces that this province needs desperately. I can't stress enough how much safer it would be to have two or more staff on site at all times!
