1. ABOLISH DEATH PENALTY IN IRAN: 10,000,000 SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN

In the past 32 years, the Iranian fascist regime has executed tens of thousands of Iranians--mostly prisoners of conscience and members of minority religious groups. We believe that no one is entitled to take another person's life. This motivated us to start a 10,000,000-signature campaign to abolish death penalty in Iran.

3. Restore the freedom to perform to Iranian musicians

The status of Iranian musicians after 1979 Revolution has worsened because of the following evidences:

1) Non-governmental music is not supported by Iran's regime.

3) Female solo singers are forbidden from performing for men entirely.

4) Since the revolution, Iranian instruments are not allowed to be shown on state television programs.

4. Supporting the Iranian People’s Rights to Obtain Freedom & Democracy

Dear friends,

Almost one year has passed since a new era in the struggle of the Iranian people to achieve freedom and democracy in Iran has started. Following the June 2009, farce presidential elections nationwide uprising and demonstrations have been continuing unabated. To quell the uprising of the people, the religious fascism ruling Iran has arrested, tortured and hanged many innocent people, among them, charged with "Mohareb" (warring against God, punishable by death), there are many relatives of the residents of Ashraf who are living inside Iran.

The Iranian regime fears that the very existence of people of Ashraf is now the symbol of resilience and steadfastness for the people of Iran; and Ashraf is the motivation for opposition to the current dictatorial rule of Ahmadinejad and Khameneie, the supreme leader. Therefore, the mullahs in Iran have ordered their elements within the current Iraqi government to destroy Ashraf and its residents in order to end the opposition and uprising inside Iran.

The events in Iran and in Ashraf require an initiative to call on the international community and the United Nations to oblige the Iranian regime and Iraqi government to respect the basic human rights of the Iranian people and residents of Ashraf. To this end, we would request you to sign and support the declaration below which will be presented to the United Nations and the EU.

Thank you for your support and solidarity.

5. Solidarity with Iranian people’s uprising - Solidarité avec le soulèvement du peuple iranien

The Iranian people’s uprising for democracy and human rights heralded a new phase on December 27 when millions of Iranians expressed their aspiration to change the regime in its entirety. A number of protesters were killed on that day, hundreds were injured and thousands were arrested.

In a bid to prevent the expansion of the uprising, the regime has put some of the detainees on trial as “mohareb,” literally meaning “those who wage war against God,” a charge that is punishable by death sentence. The First Deputy of the regime’s Judiciary has announced that supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) are all deemed as “mohareb” and must be executed, while Salavati, a judge in charge of the clerical regime’s kangaroo court formed to try the “moharebs,” has said that since “the core of the PMOI has not been eradicated, the organization remains subject to Article 186 of the Islamic Punishment Act,” and that, in accordance with this Act, “as long as the core of the PMOI remains in place, all its members and supporters … are considered mohareb, even if they are not involved in the armed wing.”

The persistence of brutal physical and psychological torture practiced on political prisoners, which in many cases has led to their deaths, has provoked serious concerns on the part of the international community.

In such circumstances, it is imperative that:

• The dossier of human rights violations and suppression of the Iranian people’s uprising be referred to the United Nations Security Council for the adoption of urgent measures.

• All diplomatic, political and economic leverages to be used to impose pressure on the Iranian regime for the immediate release of political prisoners and those detained during the uprisings.

• The European Union and member states suspend their economic and political relations with Tehran until such time that hanging, torture and the suppression of protests in Iran have ceased completely.

6. 25 July, International Day Against Dictatorship

Following the electoral fraud of 12 June 2009 in Iran and the repressive measures imposed by the outgoing government of Mahmoud AHMADINEJAD, a worldwide day of protest, IRAN GLOBAL DAY, was organized on the 25 July 2009 in solidarity with the Iranian people in the name of freedom and democracy in Iran and against dictatorship.

The participation of thousands of people around the world was not only a triumph for the Iranian people who thus received the backing of the international community in its struggle against dictatorship, but also a victory for men and women of all origins around the world who, thanks to the Internet and new information technologies, managed to mobilize in the defense of the rights of a repressed people in its struggle against a totalitarian regime that had become a danger to the whole of humanity.

In a global world in which the fate of all individuals, peoples and nations is increasingly interconnected, the defence of human rights of a people living under conditions of tyranny is an issue that concerns us all. United we can act more effectively in the struggle against dictatorship and dictators for peace in the world.

10. Support Democracy & Human Rights in Iran

To the Right Honourable Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd,

On June 12, 2009, millions of Iranians, many of whom have friends and family here in Australia, went to the polls to elect their next president. Unlike the 2005 presidential elections where 48% of the electorate voted in run-off elections to choose Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, many more voters were expected to and did turn-out to vote against his disastrous domestic and foreign policies.

However, even before a tally of the votes could be taken Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his supporters declared victory with 63% of the popular vote. With lightning speed his rival’s campaign headquarters were closed, many of their leaders were arrested and a heavy police and paramilitary presence was brought into the streets. Are these the actions of someone who has won a free and fair election?

Although the world does not yet realize it, on June 13th we witnessed an unprecedented coup d’état veiled in the guise of a popular election. If this coup is allowed to succeed and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC) are allowed to consolidate their power, not only will they pose a danger to the Iranian people, but will also become a much greater threat to the outside world.
The implications of this coup are far-reaching. Whereas before the hard-line elements in the IRGC were held in check by the Supreme Leader and the clergy, over the last four years they have come to assume a position of immense power in Iran.

This coup represents the consummation of their new position in the state, and has grave implications for the Iranian people, Australia and the Western world.

15. Allow Ali to remain in the UK

March 02, 2006

This petition is now closed. Thanks to all who signed.

August 19, 2005

Petition to Tony McNulty, Minister for Immigration, requesting he allows Ali Reza Fakourpoor to remain in the UK.

Home Office reference F1021561

We ask that you allow Ali Reza Fakourpoor, an Iranian man to stay in Britain with his wife Jenifer, who is a British Citizen.

Ali met Jenifer in Glasgow and they married in 2002. An application was submitted but this was refused in February 2005. An appeal is now pending.

The Home Office want to remove Ali to Iran but this would result in the couple's forced separation. There are several insurmountable obstacles that would prevent them living together in Iran. Iran does not recognise dual nationality. It is likely that Jenifer's British passport is confiscated. In order for the Iranian authorities to recognise their marriage Jenifer would be forced to convert to Islam. Jenifer has no knowledge of Iran's language or culture and it is very unlikely she would find employment in her current field.

It is also uncertain what would happen to Ali on his return especially given the current political climate, his political views and previous opposition to the government. We believe that a forced separation would be unjust and inhumane.

In spite of the stress he is under Ali has remained an active and widely respected member of the community. He has learned English and updated his skills in carpentry and furniture making. He is not permitted to work so volunteers at his local Oxfam shop on a weekly basis.

16. ALLOW HOSSEIN SIAVOSHY TO REMAIN IN THE U.K

Dear Mr Clarke,

Re: Hossein Siavoshy Home Office Reference S1086061

We ask that you allow Hossein Siavoshy, an Iranian man to stay in Britain with his wife, Jessica, who is a British Citizen.

Hossein met Jessica in London and they married in 2003. An application was submitted but this was refused in February 2004. They are now waiting for their 2nd Judicial review application to be processed.

The Home Office wants to remove Hossein to Iran but this would result in the couple's forced separation. There are several in surmountable obstacles that would prevent them living together in Iran. Iran does not recognise dual nationality. It is likely that Jessica's British passport is confiscated. In order for the Iranian authorities to recognise their marriage Jessica would be forced to convert to Islam. Jessica has no knowledge of Iran's language or culture and it is very unlikely that she would be able to find employment in her current field.

It is also uncertain what would happen to Hossein on his return especially given the current political climate, his political views and previous opposition to the government. We believe that a forced, indefinite separation would be unjust and inhumane.

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

We the undersigned, as the Iranian community of Canada and U.S. would like to express our thanks for your government's efforts in the case of Canadian journalist who was murdered in Iran, the Late Ms. Kazemi. We would like to remind your Excellency that it is greatly important for the Iranian community all across the world that the truth is known about the circumstances surrounding the arrest, torture and murder of Canadian journalist Ms. Kazemi in the hands of Islamic Republic officials. It is needless to say that Ms. Kazemi's case is just an example of what the government of Iran feels entitled to do to its current or former citizens.

Your Excellency, we demand the full protection of our rights under Canadian as well as International laws. The government of Iran must not be allowed to violate the basic human rights of its citizens, let alone the citizens of other countries and Canada. The international community and the Canadian government must make it clear to the government of the Islamic republic that they will not be allowed to get away with these violations.

Your Excellency, we demand that your government cut all ties with the Islamic republic should the government of Iran continue to refuse to send the body of Ms. Kazemi back to Canada for a fair and transparent investigation and continues to violate the rights of Iranian citizens. We would also like to express our full trust in the Canadian Criminal Courts and system. We would also like to express our support and appreciation of the Canadian Law enforcement in Vancouver British Colombia and let you know that the Iranian community resent the shameless allegations of the Islamic republic officials with regards to the tragic accident in Vancouver B.C.
