Petition Tag - games
The International Olympic Committee, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that those who cannot compete at an "Olympic" standard are no longer welcome to participate in future Olympic Games.
This decision goes against the basic Olympic Creed, which Baron de Coubertin installed in 1896. It states the following:
"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well."
Those who support this elitist decision are thumbing their nose at the very ideals that Baron de Coubertin envisioned when he brought back the Olympic Games.
122. Yes to Tourneys in Flipside Social Rooms
This is a petition to rebutt the one to ban Tourney Playing in Uproar/Flipside Social Rooms. The leagues that operate in these rooms do a lot of work to host fun games for players that enjoy. These players also bring new players to Uproar/Flipside and support the playsite a great deal. Also, the tourney playing only takes up a few tables at a time and in no way interfere with non tourney playing.
123. Bring Zoids Video Games to United States
This is to bring Zoid games like Zoids vs. and Zoids Saga (the only two zoid games) to the United States.
124. Foxbox - change back to Foxkids
Foxbox is boring and has by far the most terrible tv shows. Except for ultimate mucsle. I used to like that channel. With its old roster of shows including digimon and the original name Foxkids. I used to like before they changed it. But we can unite to change it back. Ill need all your help! Also for the website to be back to original with all those cool games.
125. Koopa Kids in More Nintendo Games!
There are a lot of people out there who would like to see the Koopa Kids appear in another game. I would also like to see them appear in another game. Therefore, I have decided to start a petition to get them back into the games.
Here's how this will work: Everyone who supports this cause (hopefully you) should sign this petition by writing something along the lines of wanting to see the Koopa Kids in another game, and reasons if you have any. If you want to add other things, such as what order you want to face the Koopas in, or how you want them to attack, that is up to you. When I get enough entries, I will send an Email or other such notification to Nintendo, and hope for the best. As an example, here is what I will send in:
To Whom This May Concern:
I've realized that the Koopa Kids are often neglected in video games, and a lot of the fans are unhappy about this, so I've started a petition for the fans to sign, to try to get them into more Mario games. If you would take the time to read the following entries, and respond, we would all be very grateful.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
126. Save Yahoo Game Rooms (Osiris) from Outside Leaguers
We the undersigned are all of the opinion that private, for-profit leagues are ruining the fun of Yahoo! Games. These leagues include www.myleague.com , www.casesladder.com, and www.laddermonkey.net among others.
127. We want Deus Ex 2 with multiplayer cooperative
Deus Ex was one of the greatest games for PC but It had not multiplayer cooperative. We think that this game mode is the best for most games, specially the games with great history like Deus Ex 2. Developers say that if the people demand it they will add multiplayer cooperative, so, please, let's be heard!!
128. Have neopets give out free items for more games (like have a mystery pick game) and give out more np
I am very poor (in the game) and stink at the games. I dont have any good items. My friends dont have good items either. please sign this!
129. carmageddon 4
The carmageddon series of games is the best racing killing games ever made. Make a 4th!
130. Add co-op multiplay to DOOM 3
Before people fought each other in 3D PC games, players worked together over LANs and the internet in games like DOOM and DOOM II.
DOOM was one of the most amazing game experiences ever. Working together in such an intense environment as DOOM 3 would be, without a doubt, be one of the most intense internet experiences ever.
Games like Serious Sam have shown that co-op multiplay does not need to be difficult to implement. With this in mind, the PC gaming community asks id Software to please not release DOOM 3 without a co-operative play option.
Warmest regards,
your biggest fans
131. Have Microsoft make a Video Game Handheld
When the Microsfot X-Box came out in 2001, it was a top seller. More than PS2, and more than Gamecube. It had one of the most popular games, Halo, and it had it's own Hard Disk.
After Nintendo sold big, they decided to make a system called Game Boy. It sold even more than Nintendo. Yes, you all of heard of Game Boy Advance. Well, it has great graphics, and it is portable.
Wouldn't it be nice if Microsoft made a handheld game system? Wouldn't it sell big? It could have great graphics, even better than GBA, and it could have games like, Halo, and Project Gotham Racing, and games like that!It would be the best selling game system of the year! Think about it.
132. Don't Blame Video Games for Everything
People keep blaming video games for the cause of several things including the school shootings. I know several people who play violent videogames and they never get violent or take what they have played and put it into real life. I've played many videogames and i never thought of going a shooting a whole bunch of people. Why do people blame videogames? It's because they have nothing else to blame it on. Can't blame the internet because everyone uses it. People such as those senators or other officials that blame video games are completely wrong. Another way someone would blame video games for violence in children and teens is because they see that many games contain blood, shooting, ripping limbs off of people, and sniping people's heads off, and they don't want to see they're children playing these games. Well if parents don't want they're children playing these games, then why do they buy them? If parents want to stop violence, don't buy their child the violent games. Even though several violent games have sold alot (Grand Theft Auto 3), I think that video games aren't the problem, it's the parents and their lack of thought. How could a parent NOT see the big label saying rated "M" for mature?
133. Better Television coverage on Video Games related issues
This is a copy of the letter which will be sent along with this petition in our campain for better Television coverage of games:
I would just like to ask one question. Why isn't there any main stream video games programming.
Gaming now brings in more money than both Film and Music world wide yet no one has scene fit to publish a decent gaming program with industry insiders that actually no what there talking about. Some satellite channels have tried and failed on more than one occasion to bring forward such a program and yeah. A slightly witty script may please some casual gamers but it wont cut with actual games fans who want; Real games fans to honestly review good games across all formats games, talk about important gaming news and bring forwards Industry Officials to debate up and coming titles.
Now is the perfect time to start such a program. The "Console War" has just kicked up a gear with all major players (Microsoft, Sony + Nintendo) crashing down prices and releasing all there best soft ware for the Christmas rush.
Will it be popular? As I said, Gaming already brings in more money than films and Music. Nintendo favourite Super Mario is now officially more widely recognised than Mickey Mouse and Buggs Bunny. Games are now being taken seriously by institutions like the BAFTA's and there seems to be no stopping the industries rise. Why the sudden popularity burst?, Gaming has over the years transformed form a relatively small and not widely renowned industry to a Multi Billion Dollar main stream entertainment source for quite a few reasons. The main one being:
Technology advances, Since the big break into 3D around mid 1990's games have gone from strength to strength. Todays standards shown in most major releases are vastly approaching the levels of detail we can accomplish in films with some major movie studio's setting up there own gaming divisions. Most noticeable has been Lucas Arts. The legendary company set up by George Lucas creator of Star Wars and Indiee Anna Jones.
So whats up for the future? Well as with most things these days it a race for online glory. But a mere Internet site?, I think not instead how about a full online net work for playing games against people from every side of the globe. A chance for Tom nice boy And Harry to test there footy skills against there counter parts form Germany. Perhaps to go online with a friend and work together with a group of strangers from around the world in a team effort to save the world. This possibilities are endless and they are actually happening as we speak. Microsoft's Xbox live is just getting up and running, Sonys Internet systems are in operation and Nintendo's online networking is pencilled in for next year.
So as you can see it's an exciting time for the games industry and a main stream television slot would thump home the values of Gaming to every person across Britain. Many still don't really no the power of games and how they've evolved since there college days of playing Snes, Mega Drive and arcade system classics.
Were not asking for a multi million pound TV extravaganza, We just want a TV slot at a reasonable time detailing up and coming games, news and industry chat.
134. Eliminate Censorship in NASCAR Video Games
Too long has there existed a double standard in video games. Video game manufactures are permitted to represent gratuitous murder in their games as well as a large degree of sexually suggestive elements. In order for them to do this, they simply need to put a "T" (Teen) or "M" (Mature) label on the packaging of the game. However, the following law exists in the California legislature:
California Penal Code 308.5:
(a) No person or business shall sell, lease, rent, or provide, or offer to sell, lease, rent, or otherwise offer to the public or to public establishments in this state, any video game intended for either private use or for use in a public establishment and intended primarily for use by any person under the age of 18 years, which contains, in its design and in the on-screen presentation of the video game, any paid commercial advertisement of alcoholic beverage or tobacco product containers or other forms of consumer packaging, particular brand names, trademarks, or copyrighted slogans of alcoholic beverages or tobacco products.
(b) As used in this section, "video game" means any electronic amusement device that utilizes a computer, microprocessor, or similar electronic circuitry and its own cathode ray tube, or is designed to be used with a television set or a monitor, that interacts with the user of the device.
(c) A violation of this section is a misdemeanor.
As reasonable as this law may seem at a glance to some parties, it creates a very unreasonable restriction on games which are produced within the abilities of the NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) license. During every NASCAR broadcast, viewers bear witness to a variety of alcohol and tobacco related advertising in the form of Rusty Wallace's Miller Lite car, Dale Earnhardt Junior's Budweiser car, and most apparent, the name of the two main circuits of NASCAR, the Winston Cup (cigarette company) and the Busch Grand National (beer company). It would only seem logical that a video game that is licensed under NASCAR would be permitted to portray NASCAR in as realistic a manner as technology would allow. However, California Penal Code 308.5 forbids this.
This is actually a second double standard: A minor can view said controversial sponsorships (in addition to numerous others) in any given NASCAR race (one quarter of which are broadcast on a national non-cable network, NBC), however to represent the same in a video game in an effort to exude realism in what has been deemed a family-safe sport is forbidden. There should be no argument it is safe to conclude that if one plays a NASCAR video game, there is a very good chance that one has watched at least one NASCAR race on television. If the viewer/player was going to be influenced by alcohol or cigarette advertisements had they been in the game, is it not also safe to say that that person would have already been influenced by watching the race on television? In addition to this, the responsibility for keeping cigarettes and alcohol out of the hands of minors lies primarily on the vendors of these products. Secondary to the vendors, it is the responsibility of the parents or guardians of the minors to educate them on the dangers of alcohol and tobacco. If both of these "lines of defense" fail, all of the censorship in the world won't strip children of the ability to become consumers of these otherwise legal health threats.
135. Bring Back 'The Crystal Maze'!
In 1990, the United Kingdom was introduced to Channel 4's newest game show- 'The Crystal Maze'! The show was hosted by Richard O'Brien, who lead a team of six contestants, fronted by a team captain and a vice captain, around the maze. Richard O'Brien left the show after series four, however, making way for Ed Tudor-Pole.
The Crystal Maze tested the initiative of the team's six contestants, in 15 puzzling games, where the objective was to beat the clock and escape with a time crystal. The time crystals were worth 5 seconds of time in the Crystal Dome, where your goal was to collect as many gold tokens as you possibly could in the time achieved by the team through collecting 'Time Crystals', but any silver tokens collected were deducted from the total of gold, making it harder for the team to reach their goal of 100 gold tokens, to gain their much-deserved prize!
The Crystal Maze was sectioned off into four zones: 'Medieval', 'Aztec', 'Futuristic' and 'Industrial' (which later changed to 'Ocean' towards the end of Richard O'Brien's time as a Crystal Maze presenter). The team members took it in turns, decided by the team captain, to tackle the tasks set before them in the games, hopefully gaining possession of that all-important time crystal. If they failed to complete their task and escape in their allocated amount of time, however, they would be locked in, only to be released by a sacrificed crystal, otherwise they would be locked in for the entirety of the show. The team had a choice of four types of game to tackle: 'Skill', 'Physical', 'Mental' and 'Mystery'.
It was up to the team captain to choose the team member who was best suited to this task. The team's outfits were each a different colour, later having a 'Time Crystal' printed on the backs.
The Crystal Maze had its residents, other than the host. In Medieval, and probably the most famous of all, was 'Mumsy', who was Richard O'Brien's Mother. She was a fortune teller, who was the main part of a Mystery game, where she would ask the chosen contestant three questions, which required a lot of thought and figuring out.
One correct answer would win them the 'Time Crystal', which rose from a crystal ball. Richard's Aunt Sabrina, who was consequently played by the same actress, replaced the character of Mumsy in the third series. The Futuristic zone had its own character- the computer, which asked the team a question when they arrived.
How can such a successful show be buried in the TV archives?
136. Baby Paint Brush price too high at Neopets
We think that the baby paint brush price is way too high and needs to be lowered. It is not fair to most of us that only the rich are aloud to get one and not everyone else. Maybe some people aren't good at games and you should lower it so its fair for the others. Please sign thanks.
137. Grand Theft Auto players say Give PS2 a GTA boost!
The Grand Theft Auto series has been one of the most successful series to date with the latest release of GTA3. The upcoming title, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City may be another excellent release that adds to the classic saga. However, anyone who has played any of the Grand Theft Auto games can tell you the two things that are missing: Liscensed Vehicle and weapon names, and multiplayer capabilites. It is not too late to request that Rockstar and their partners make these changes to the upcoming title before its debut. Rockstar is one of the most successful companies that make games today, with most of their releases being topsellers(ex. Grand Theft Auto 3, Max Payne, Midnight Club.) And yet, they have only decided to have liscensed vehicle names in the approaching title "The Getaway." (This was posted in the Game Informer Magazine. This is not mere hearsay.) All people who have played GTA3 at one time or another had a friend who wanted to play, and the person did not want to give up the controller. This is why I request that you sign this petition and quite possibly help Playstation 2 Internet make an earlier debut.
138. Grand Theft Auto should be Online
The grand theft auto series has been one of the most popular sagas to date. It has been an excellent experience. However, with the new title, GTA Vice City, I was informed it would not be online. That is what everyone is begging for. So we come here to request that rockstar either make the game online or create a GTA online.
If Rockstar decided to do this, it would help PS2 internet make an earlier debut. That would surely make the console the ALPHA system. That is all PS2 needs is a game like this, with the pleasures of multiplayer capabilities
139. Destroy Games Fusion Gold pack
Game-Fusion has stolen models and skins by people in the CS modeling community, and now they are selling these in their Gold packs. These were made to be free, and this is stealing from the producers of the real models. Sign Below if you wish to stop the illigitiamte selling of our work.
140. Smowmakers for Sugarloaf Provincial Park
We have been asking for snowmaking at Sugaorloaf provincial Park for quite a few years. In February 2003 we will be hosting the Canada Winter Games 2003 and one of the events to be held is Freestyle Skiing. They are upgrading the hills but without snowmaking, there will be no event. We not only want snowmaking for the games, we want a lasting legacy fromn the games. With snowmaking capabilities we could hold national events that will bring in desperatly needed revenue to our region.
I am create'n this Petition regarding Lycos Games. Playsite is taking down lycos.playsite.com without asking the people who love to go there and visit it every day.
142. Declare February 24th a National Holiday in Canada
On February 24th, 2002, the Canadian Men's Hockey team ended a 50 year period by beating the United States of American to capture the gold medal at the XIX Winter Games in Salt Lake City. This came within three days of a similar win by the Women's hockey team, who won their first gold medal in the sport.
We, the undersigned, believe that this occasion should be commemorated by a national statutory holiday known as "Hockey Day".
143. Bring Reaper Back
My Description, Lycos Games and Go2Net Banned a good fellow from their chat site and refuse to give him, or his friends the reason why. We believe there is no reason that they are just abusing their power...
144. End the Toronto Maple Leaf's Monopoly
For all who are disgusted with the CBC progam Hockey Night in Canada, and the endless playing of only the Toronto Maple Leaf games.
There has been a faithful following of the game "Sports Car GT" published by Electronic Arts & designed by ISI (likely the best racing sim designers when it comes to physics) for over 3 years now.
People all over the world are still discovering (and purchasing) this great game for the first time as is evident by posts on related forums. These forums are buzzing on a daily basis with talk and praise of this game 3 years after it's release. This should give anyone an idea just how this game was so ahead of it's time in physics and innovative coding.
PC Gamer magazine said it was "almost broadcast quality" in their review of SCGT. We agree!
The entire SCGT community has been faithfully waiting for an SCGT2 to be put together by Electronic Arts for quite some time. We feel a company like Electronic Arts who has been in the forefront of racing arcade/sim games has an equal obligation to its sim racing fans that it has shown towards its arcade racing fans in its NFS series.
Other racing series sims which may have somewhat of a larger following than GT racing, although much appreciated, have been (in our opinion) so overly produced and reproduced for so many consecutive years that they have become almost monotonous... until "Sports Car GT" came along.
We would hope that EA Sports can see that although this series may not produce the volume of sales that other series may produce, is a still very much a contribution to the whole. Many people who prefer true racing sims, will almost certainly have more than one sim game. But if those racing sim games all represent the same series differing only in the series year, sooner or later people will stop buying just to get a new car paintjob because some drivers in the year changed teams. Ok, and maybe some minor physics/modeling engine enhancements.
In our opinion, ISI (Image Space Inc.) not only captured the sensation of the GT Racing series, but also created a physics/modeling engine way beyond it's years in performance, stability, and visual game play.
We would hope that EA Sports could realize the submersion factor that ISI has managed to bring to SCGT and the interest of EA's customers in having a sim that reproduces the GT series well (as SCGT does), and requests ISI to create a follow up to this great game and give it's faithful followers and newcomers to GT Racing an SCGT2.
146. Metal Slug for DC damn it!
Dreamcast gamers would love to see Metal Slug appear on their platform so I feel obliged to get this petition going.
