1. Get SA Human Rights Commission involved!

Thousands of children are being removed from their loving parents and forcibly adopted under very suspicious circumstances by the secret family courts in the UK.

There is more evidence of very corrupt cases in the media every day and more and more people are becoming aware of the unfairness and detrimental effect the UK Social Services are having on loving and innocent families. Foreign families seem to be targeted.

Yesterday MP John Hemming appealed to parliament that this process needs to be revised and to use the Courtnage case as example of extreme corruption. The Slovak government has now become openly involved in helping their citizens in the UK, and we now appeal to the SA government to do the same to stop the forcible adoption of two young South African boys.

4. Support Democracy & Human Rights in Iran

To the Right Honourable Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd,

On June 12, 2009, millions of Iranians, many of whom have friends and family here in Australia, went to the polls to elect their next president. Unlike the 2005 presidential elections where 48% of the electorate voted in run-off elections to choose Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, many more voters were expected to and did turn-out to vote against his disastrous domestic and foreign policies.

However, even before a tally of the votes could be taken Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his supporters declared victory with 63% of the popular vote. With lightning speed his rival’s campaign headquarters were closed, many of their leaders were arrested and a heavy police and paramilitary presence was brought into the streets. Are these the actions of someone who has won a free and fair election?

Although the world does not yet realize it, on June 13th we witnessed an unprecedented coup d’état veiled in the guise of a popular election. If this coup is allowed to succeed and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC) are allowed to consolidate their power, not only will they pose a danger to the Iranian people, but will also become a much greater threat to the outside world.
The implications of this coup are far-reaching. Whereas before the hard-line elements in the IRGC were held in check by the Supreme Leader and the clergy, over the last four years they have come to assume a position of immense power in Iran.

This coup represents the consummation of their new position in the state, and has grave implications for the Iranian people, Australia and the Western world.

6. Mad as hell at financial companies who choose to benefit from the Great Bailout!

Are you mad as hell at financial companies who choose to benefit from the Great Bailout? Are you going to take this anymore?

These financial companies in and outside the U.S. will steal massive wealth from U.S. taxpayers to give to their foreign and U.S. investors, and to their foreign and U.S. management and employees.

Yelling together, we should be able to stop the ill-considered passage of the Great Bailout, and gain the opportunity to quickly implement a better solution.

Note: The "Great Bailout" refers to the Paulson/Bernanke/Bush (Paulnankebush) sponsored bailout proposal (including any tweaks made to it by Congress) that fundamentally transfers massive wealth from U.S. taxpayers to foreign and U.S. investors in, and foreign and U.S. management and employees of, financial companies in and outside the U.S. It does not refer to fundamentally different solutions, such as those discussed on http://AmericaIs.OurCreation.info .

7. Foreign Language Courses in Corning-Painted Post School District

For years, only two foreign languages have been obtainable at the Corning-Painted Post School District, while in other districts in New York, as many as four may be offered. This is much to the dissent of the student populace.

Because of this, many of the students, only being able to choose French and Spanish, never get the chance to take a language they want so they quickly lose interest in it all together and many drop out after taking the Proficiency Exam that is required by New York State.

If a student were offered a language they would like, instead of being required to pick between two they do not like at all, they are more likely to stay in the class and therefore would have a higher chance of staying in the class and would lead to better understand among the younger generation of the United States and the world.

8. Smokefree VFW

PLEASE: FOR VFW and LADIES AUXILLARY MEMBERS ONLY!

VFW facilities are a wonderful resource and important meeting place for our communities, returned and returning veterans, and families. These valuable gathering establishments would greatly benefit from a healthy, smoke-free environment.

Secondhand smoke has been found to cause disease and death by the United States Surgeon General and is a dangerous product for our families and veterans to breathe.

9. Replace Steve Buyer As Chair of House Veterans Affairs Committee

July 11, 2006

This petition is a response to the measures Steve Buyer R-IN has taken to reduce the benefits our veterans receive when they return home from foreign wars.

In January 2005, the Republican leadership forced out Rep. Christopher Smith, R-N.J., as the chairman of Verteran's Affairs in the US House of Representatives. He was a great ally for the issues close to veterans, but the leadership disliked how close we was to veterans groups, as well as his willingness to expand benefits in a time of war.

Rep. Steve Buyer R-I.N., was the replacement chosen for Rep. Smith, and he has been interminable in his efforts to cut the benefits of veterans. He has attempted to add enrollment fees for entire groups of veterans, increase prescription co-pays for medication, he has sought to redefine a service-connected disability as being only combat related, ect., ect., ect.

Last year (2005) Steve Buyer received a 0 rating on pro-veteran votes from Project Vote Smart. And this as the Chairman of the House Veterans Committee.

In short, Steve Buyer does not have the priorities of veterans at the top of his list. When waiting lists at VA facilities are ever-increasing and America is bringing home hundeds of thousands of new veterans of foreign wars, our country needs to be looking towards giving our veterans the best possible care, and not the least possible benefits.

10. Support Oil Drilling in ANWR

May 24, 2006

Energy, economy & national security go hand-in-hand. ANWR represents nation's best geologic prospects for major new onshore oil discoveries, and only the 1.5 million acre (8 percent) on the northern coast of ANWR is being considered for development.

The remaining 17.5 million acres (92 percent) of ANWR will remain permanently closed to any kind of development. If oil is discovered, less than 2,000 acres of the Coastal Plain would actually be affected - or less than half of one percent.

Please take a moment to help secure our nation's energy independence by signing our petition. When you are finished, visit us on our website, http://action.anwr.org/.

12. A petition to guarantee Supreme Court nominees will not use foreign sources in court rulings

Recently the United States Supreme Court has begun using international law and public opinion in declaring certain laws unconstitutional. It is not within the abilities of the Supreme Court to use such information to justify rulings, especially when there is not justification within the Constitution itself.

As there is a great possibility that many on the Supreme Court will be retiring within the presidency of George W. Bush, this petition would ask the President not to appoint any Supreme Court Justice that will not take an oath to not use foreign law or public opinion as a basis for their rulings.

13. Stop Execution Tenzin Delek Rimpoche scheduled 2nd Dec

Tenzin Delek Rinpoche is a highly revered monk in Tibet. In April 2002 Tenzin Delek Rinpoche and Lobsang Dhondup were arrested and charged with involvement in a series of explosions in Sichuan Province. They were held incommunicado until their December 2002 trial, where they were convicted of "conspiring to cause a series of explosions" and "incitement to separatism," and sentenced to death.

On January 26, 2003, the Sichuan Provincial Court rejected Tenzin Delek Rinpoche's appeal. Lobsang Dhondup was executed the same day. Tenzin Delek Rinpoche is currently being held in Tuandong Prison, Sichuan.

The circumstances surrounding this case indicate that the prosecution of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche is politically motivated. He built monasteries, schools and homes for the elderly in his community in eastern Tibet. His leadership outside the Communist Party made him a political target.

To date, the Chinese authorities have not produced any credible evidence of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche's involvement in the explosions, and the prosecutions have not met minimum standards of due process. On January 18, a smuggled tape made by Tenzin Delek Rinpoche asserted, "Whatever the authorities do and say, I am innocent."

We ask for your help to save Tenzin Delek Rinpoche from execution:

1. Send a message your Senators. Please contact your Senators and urge them to add their name to Senate Resolution 365, which calls for the release of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche. If you are not a US Citizen or are not represented by a US Senator, please consider sending an email to Li Zhaoxing (the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs) and ask him to release Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.

2. Send a message to your friends. Please contact your friends, let them know about this gross breach of justice, and urge them to take action to push for Tenzin Delek Rinpoche's release..

3. Support the International Campaign for Tibet and our efforts to free all Tibetan political prisoners.

Thank you

14. NO balkanisation / bantustanisation of Somalia

The Government of South Africa, through the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini- Zuma recently commissioned a Report to whether to recognize the northern region of Somalia (Somaliland) as sovereign state. In the Report, law advisers from the South African Department of Foreign Affairs support somalilands argument for independence. As the Report writes “It is undeniable that Somaliland does indeed qualify for statehood, and it is incumbent upon the international community to recognise it.”

The South African government lawyers agree that “any efforts to deny or delay would not only put the international community at the risk of ignoring the most stable region in the Horn [of Africa], it would impose untold hardship upon the people of Somaliland due to the denial of foreign assistance that recognition entails.”

The South African government law advisers pondering about the practicability of bestowing sovereignty to Somaliland wrote: “The interest of world peace and stability require that, where possible, the division or fragmentation of existing states should be managed peacefully and by negotiation. But where this is not possible, as is the case with Somalia, international law accepts that the interests of justice may prevail over the principle of territorial integrity,”

If the Minister heeds this advice it will lead to the creation of five (5) Somali Bantustan-like countries; Somaliland and Punt land to name just but two. The advice given to the South African government is contrary to the UN, Africa Union, Arab league, Non Allied Movement, of which South Africa is a member, categorically say “that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia is sacrosanct.”

Hence closing the floodgate of Bantustans in Somalia and its ripple effect in other African countries. If the Minister accept such advice, the move will undoubtedly undermine the South African propelled African Renaissances and the NEPAD initiative that many Africans see as the only hope for Africa and Africans.

We urgently urge the Minister and the ANC Government not to heed this advice which will reintroduce tribal based fragmentation, ala apartheid, of the region through the backdoor.

We the undersigned Somalis and other Africans plead with the Minister and the ANC Government to reject the Bantustanization of Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

18. Abolish Media Lies

The Mainstream Media are controlled by a handfull of VERY powerful people who often lie, distort the truth and leave out vital bits of information so that the wealthiest most powerful people in the world can persuade ordinary working people to do things that are only in the interests of the wealthy. The media should have a licensing system and if they are caught lying or leaving out important information they should lose that license. There should also be strict limits on Foreign Ownership of media operating in any country.

19. End Horse Slaughter

Hundreds of thousands of horses and foals have been slaughtered for food in Canada to be sold as 'gourmet meat' in foreign markets. Last year, more than 62,000 horses were slaughtered in Canada. Slaughtered horses are often companion animals, which were raised for various other purposes: work, racing, riding and as pets. When the value of the animal decreases, many are shipped to abattoirs where they will be slaughtered and sold as foreign cuisine. Horses are intelligent, emotional creatures, who suffer under the conditions of the route to the slaughterhouse. This is one of Canada's secret shames. Help put an end to this senseless horse slaughter.
