The Clarence City Council is currently reviewing a range of issues and proposing some changes to the way in which dogs are managed in the municipality.

One of the proposals is to make Bellerive Beach a 'dog-free zone' - i.e. banning dogs completely from the beach at all times (see www.ccc.tas.gov.au for details).

This petition has been prepared to register OPPOSITION to the proposal and to allow continued use of the beach by dogs and their owners, as per current arrangements.

We, the friends and fans of Duane "Dog, the Bounty Hunter", Leland & Tim Chapman, call for the US and Mexican Governments to drop all warrants and charges against these men who do so much (& have done SO much) to improve our society and rid the streets of criminals.

Dog, Leland & Tim Chapman captured a VERY DANGEROUS ESCAPED RAPIST (who was also DRUGGING AND TORTURING his INNOCENT VICTIMS) that was on the RUN, something that NEITHER the US OR Mexican Officials could do. If it weren't for them, this MONSTER would (more than likely) still be out their DRUGGING, RAPING & TORTURING INNOCENT women TO THIS DAY.

All because of Andrew Luster a BRUTAL SERIAL RAPIST who DRUGGED INNOCENT WOMEN in the U.S. with GHB & then VIOLENTLY ATTACKED THEM WHILE VIDEO TAPING the ASSULTS. It's because of him that these INNOCENT MEN are going through this, THEY AREN'T CRIMINALS. This MONSTER has 86 counts of rape against him. E-I-G-H-T-Y S-I-X, I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE he was still walking the streets period.

The MINUTE Dog, Leland & Tim got him & they cuffed Andrew Luster A-L-L of his INNOCENT VICTIMS GOT THEIR JUSTICE, and I'm sure now A-L-L of the INNOCENT Women who were his VICTIMS are N-O-W able to SLEEP BETTER AT NIGHT, and it was all because if Dog, Leland & Tim. ALL Dog, Leland & Tim were doing was making sure this MONSTER NEVER RAPED AGAIN by putting him where he BELONGS, BEHIND BARS.

This is N-O-T the Message that we should be sending A-N-Y-B-O-D-Y. That you can flea to Mexico and hide from your Crimes their and then that ANYBODY who comes their to bring you back to America will be CHARGED & THROWN IN PRISON. THATS NOT RIGHT!! THEN EVERY CRIMINAL IS GONNA GO HIDE OUT THEIR. I think these POOR Men (& Their Families) have SUFFERED ENOUGH, for what...CATCHING A CEREAL RAPIST?? WHAT'S THIS WORLD COMING TO?? What if Andrew Luster RAPED YOUR MOTHER, DAUGHTER, SISTER, FRIEND ETC.. This CREEP HAD to be STOPPED & DOG, LELAND & TIM were the ONLY ones who could do it, but they SHOULDN'T be punished for it.

These Bounty Hunters are being treated like CRIMINALS (WHEN THEY ARE N-O-T), when THEY ARE the ones who got a VERY DANGEROUS CRIMINAL OFF THE STREETS & gave S-O M-A-N-Y INNOCENT women their JUSTICE that they TRULY DESERVED, and probably in some form their lives back. They put themselves on the line when we couldn't. And now, they may get extradited back to Mexico?

What they did is considered a small misdemeanor in Mexico anyway so why are they being treated like this? Why are we not protecting these Heroes of our country? I am not the only one that is feeling like this. Anyone with sense and heart can see that they did the right thing! Where is the crime in that??

Thousands of us are boycotting travel to Mexico and will not sleep until Duane 'Dog' Chapman, Tim and Leland are saved. So many people, with morals and good in their heart know that this is not right. I and thousands of others want to believe that the country we live in protect their heroes but we as Americans are really starting to question our government.

How many Cops, Judges and soldiers can say that they have brought over 6,000 people to justice? I still want to have faith that you will do the right thing and not let a hero and protector of our country be extradited.

You represent us, the people. We are crying out and begging. Please do not ignore us, we will not back down.

Dog, Leland & Tim Chapman, are the good guys who help our society everyday. In the words of Duane "Dog" Chapman [he/they] "Find 'Em And Fix 'Em." [The Criminals] He's the one who does that. He finds them & then he fixes them, and if he's not the one doing it, you KNOW the Cops aren't gonna do it. And he LOVES what he does, they ALL do. WE NEED THEM. We REQUEST and DEMAND their FREEDOM. I and my partner have recently spent 6 months in Amsterdam, Holland .

Whilst over there we had the fortune to find the most perfect Jack Russell. Knowing that we had to come back to the UK in 6months time we fully researched how bring him back would work.

The pet’s scheme run by DEFRA explained what he would need.

We then complied with the rules - micro chipped, de flea and wormed. He was also vaccinated against rabies whilst over in Amsterdam which, has one of the lowest cases of Rabies in Europe, in the world! It was in fact one of the first countries to be added to the DEFRA pet passport scheme.

Upon calling the quarantine facility to arrange the stay of our dog we where informed that it didn't matter that he had already spent two months prior to touch down in the United Kingdom with the rabies vaccination in his system. The vaccination he had is the same as he would have in the United Kingdom . But he still had to have a vaccination once he got to the quarantine facilities in the UK .

We would like to know why this is as we have tried and failed to get any answer other than the rhetoric of ‘it’s the law’ as to why our dog has to now have the rabies vaccination in his system for eight months, not six (which has already been proven to be far longer than it takes for the rabies to show itself once vaccination has occurred). Please refer to the DEFRA website for the studies regarding this.

The simple fact that once he’s in quarantine he does not receive a blood test that it is just down to the kennel operatives to notice any difference in his behavioral pattern means that this prolonged stay in quarantine cannot be justified. As clever as he is, he’s still only a canine and he is completely unable to hide any of the signs of rabies, if he would of contracted it before going into quarantine he would still be showing signs of it now.

None of it makes any sense. Indeed the large numbers of civil servants we have spoken to regarding this have agreed that it makes no sense.

Why should we have to continue the heart ache of being separated from him?

If Britain is country of animal lovers, how can its government elected by us the people continue to enforce quarantine laws which have no scientific, national security or health benefit to any of us, yourself included?

Marion City Council approved plans for the redevelopment of Hazelmere Reserve in February 2007. Fencing off an area at the northern end thus reducing the area available by 20m.

Now without any consultation Marion is in the process of fencing off a much larger area nearly 40m will be taken for non dog use. Increasing the size from under 1800 sqm to over 3200 sqm. Also denying access to the carpark and the main gates.

At The Mayhew Animal Home we are not against some form of parking controls as we have suffered the same difficulties as the local residents when trying to park our Animal Ambulances close to The Home, however we believe that we are being treated unfairly by the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham by the introduction of Controlled Parking in the area, for the following reasons:

1. The Council is classing The Mayhew as a business and charging us business rates for parking permits. We are quite clearly not a business, but a charity: A not-for-profit organisation that provides numerous services for the local community and London as a whole.

2. We are being allowed 2 permits, but on a daily basis use four vehicles: Three Animal Ambulances and one general purpose vehicle. Two permits alone will cost The Mayhew £1760.00 per year.

3. The Council have brought in a height restriction for vehicles of 2.28m. Our main Animal Ambulance, funded by supporters money and launched April last year, is ten centimetres taller than this and is being refused a permit altogether.

In China dogs and cats are suffering all in the name of fur. It is estimated that 2 million cats and dogs are slaughtered each year to supply the world with fur trims, scarves, coats and even steering-wheel covers.

Not only are many animals transported in a barbaric manner and skinned whilst fully conscious, the products that end up on our high streets are often mislabelled or not labelled at all. Consequently, consumers continue to buy products assuming that they are made from fake fur. Furthermore, they have no idea that even if it was real fur that it could be sourced from cat or dog. We are sure shoppers would be appalled if they knew what they were actually spending their money on.

What is also shocking is that this is not illegal. In the UK there is as yet no ban on the import of cat and dog fur. Politicians first want proof. Getting the proof is highly expensive, costing on average £1000 to test the DNA of one garment. MEP Struan Stevenson, a long time campaigner to end the cat and dog fur trade, actually found a ‘cat in the basket’ ornament which was made from dog fur, but unfortunately during testing the toy was considered to small to act as substantial evidence.

It is terribly upsetting to realise that dog and cat lovers all over the world may unknowingly be wearing items of clothing made from the skins of dogs and cats. Help us raise awareness of this issue and ensure that this suffering is stopped.

Rottweilers are possibly going to be added to the dangerous dog list, due to recent 'circumstances' following situations between rottweilers and humans.

Currently being advertised in national newspapers, we believe that this is due to bad training and other causes not due to the breed as such, and therefore I think this is cruel for the thousands of well behaved over soppy rottweilers that already exist and the many more yet to exist.

I feel the dogs as a breed are being victamised, when i was 5 not doing anything wrong I got viciously attacked by a westie/scottie not sure which it was white thats all I remember and it scarred my face for life!

I'm simply trying to say that any dog can bite/attack, but think all dogs should have to go to training from say 12 weeks for a minimum of 6 weeks, and ideally all owners should have to apply for some sort of ownership, by doing several checks (home checks-vet checks, checks after puppy training etc etc etc.) i then think this ownership should cost say £200 which could go to rescues and such like and yearly say £25-cheap enough people wont just dump them etc, plus there should be fines if you fail any criteria etc.

If they could put a rottweiler on soon gsd's dobermans etc would follow-and why? because of a handful of cases being sold to the papers all in 1 go making the breed look bad!

In 2003, Duane,Leland and Tim Chapman, “Dog the Bounty Hunter on A&E,” was hot on the trail of Andrew Luster, heir of the Max Factor cosmetics fortune and convicted of 86 counts of rape. When Luster got wind of Dog’s chase, he fled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to avoid capture.

Dog and his posse, however, did not give up the pursuit. On June 16th, 2003 Dog captured Luster and brought him to the U.S, where he was immediately jailed and later sentenced to 124 years in jail.

In Mexico, bounty hunting is a crime, After his arrest there Dog had a court date set in Mexico for July 15th, 2003 but failed to appear. Fast forward three years to 6:30 am, September 14th, 2006 and Dog and his posse are in the custody of U.S. Marshall’s, facing extradition to Mexico and eight years in prison for capturing a dangerous American rapist.

Concord & Cabarrus County is growing with more apartments, condos, townhomes and housing developments with little or no yard. We have several parks to take our dogs but they must remain on leash at all times.

Cabarrus CARES, in association with Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department, is researching the feasibility of building an off-leash dog park. Help us Make It Happen! We are in the process of creating a proposal requesting permission to build a 2 acre, double gated, 6' high fenced area for our dogs to socialize and play. This would also be a way to meet fellow dog lovers like ourselves.

We have several parks in Concord/Cabarrus County and many of them are used by dogs and their owners daily. However, there are some people who do not want to share their space with dogs who are illegally off leash, or, for that matter, with owners who do not pick up after their dogs.

Though leashed dogs and their conscientious owners are welcome in most of Concord's parks, we need a place for dogs to socialize off leash. In order to accomplish this goal with the maximum possible benefits for dogs, as well as for individuals who appreciate meeting others like themselves, we need your help and support. It is well know fact dogs can bark. It is a less know fact that barking in most cases can be controlled.

Barking dogs are considered a nuisance if it disturbs neighbours sufficiently. Councils refuse to enforce the laws on nuisance barking dogs to the point they are acting inconsistently with the laws themselves.

To have a nuisance barking dog situation resolved can be near impossible with some dog owners. The law must be used to protect victims from nuisance barking dogs.

If you watch Dog The Bounty Hunter, you know he is a Christian bounty hunter who does not believe in the use of weapons.

He instead uses mace and his voice- and also prayer- to capture fugitives and criminals.

Yet people are scheming to get his show canceled. Keep his show on the air and also communicate with other Dog fans.

All across Asia and China, dogs and cats are kept in horrible conditions and then killed in the most horrific and inhumane ways, just so they can be used for fur. But this fur is making its way into our country, yes the UK, in fact it may even well be in your home, without you knowing as it is never correctly labelled, and may even be labelled as fake fur.

We, the undersigned, petition the President of the United States George W. Bush, and the agencies of Food and Drug Administrations, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We the people disagree and protest the Food and Drug Administration ruling, (21 CFR Parts 16 and 1240 [Docket No. 2003N-0400] RIN 0910-ZA21). Also the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, (42 CFR Part 71).

We feel that these two agencies are using their power to halt the trade of exotic animals, foreign and domestic, for personal biased reasons. They are destroying the rights of all pet owners as well as the market for pet food, pet products as well as the pet trade it self.

Neither agency has publicly announced or invited professionals from these trades to help in establishing guidelines, restrictions, and or quarantine possibilities.

No one disputes the importance of protecting the American people from possible epidemics. Neither agency has thought of the consequences of destroying a viable trade to the American people.

With our world growing smaller each and every day, it is of the utmost importance that not only we learn to co-exist with all animals, but invite these animals into our lives to preserve their existence.

We the under signers believe the FDA and CDC can accomplish their task with restrictions, not complete termination of a trade.

Monkeypox is terrible, as is the Flu, and it can be prevented through restrictions and monitoring. We request that these rules not be allowed into the Register and these agencies seek professional assistance from the trade they are out to destroy. Also that they advertise in publications that pertain to the business in which they seek to regulate.
