1. Whangarei Town Basin Children's Park

While supervising my two year old son, my four year old son went missing at the Whangarei Town Basin Children's Park.

I eventually found him playing with another child over the edge of the board walk playing amongst the rocks and mangroves of the Whangarei Harbor.

This could have easily ended tragically!

To prevent this from ever happening I would like the Whangarei District council to fully ring fence the park with childproof Safety fencing and gates.

2. West Kingsdown Bus Service

West Kingsdown has had a very popular bus service scrapped by the conservative party in 2002 leaving those elderly and disabled expected to pay out full fare on other means of transport, even though they have half fare passes and free passes.

Without the popular service the elderly and disabled are expected to travel a minimum of 6 miles for a pulbic service. The Conservatives are the problem here as they all use cars and they say everyone can walk 6 miles. They just sit on their backsides all day and do nothing

3. Stop The destruction of Lymington

June 20, 2006

In common with towns across the UK the Town of Lymington is suffering from a rash of overdevelopment.

In the name of supposedly "Saving the Green Belt" developers are being encouraged by the UK Government to build at ever higher densities in the centre of towns.

This process has now gathered enormous momentum and the town now has numerous building sites as developers knock down good family houses to build block of retirement flats and second homes.

Unless the local council the New Forest District Council starts standing up to the developers and starts saying NO then the town as we know it will be lost for ever.
