2. Placement of anti-bullying cirriculum in Putnam City Public Schools
Bullying is a form of victimization, or abuse, and it is wrong. Children should be able to attend school or take part in activities without fear of being harassed, assaulted, belittled, or excluded.
Studies show that 15%-25% of children are bullied at school with frequency. The children being bullied may have reduced self-esteem or depression, drop in school performance. Some emotional scars from bullying can be lifelong. Young people who bully are more likely to miss school or drop out. 60% of boys who were bullies in middle school had at least one criminal conviction by the age of 24.
Bullying creates a climate of fear and disrespect in schools and has a negative impact on student learning.
3. Stop the Transload Facility in Lockport, Illinois at Chevron Texaco
Facts:
Chevron (formerly Texaco) located at 301 West Second Street Lockport Illinois has been in remediation for years and is now ready for development.
Opus North was hired to develop this property .
The first parcel ready for occupation is in the south end of the property near 2nd Street and they are considering a Transload Facility that would involve additional train cars unloading things like plastic pellets, lumber and paper rolls and 170 diesel trucks entering the facility 5 days a week. (Approximately 100 on the weekend)

Congratulations to Shayne for having the highest new chart entry for Stand by Me
at No. 14.
We know that is an achievement, but we also know that Shayne will be disappointed, and so are we. He is an absolutely amazing singer but the songs do not get enough people excited enough to go out and buy the singles. It also means, disappointingly, that the millions of people who voted for him on X Factor are deserting him. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
On the X Factor, his best performance, (except for If You Not the One, which we all agree was amazing) were all up-tempo: Cry me a River, Take your Mama, the Darkness.
We remember him preparing for Cry me a River on Xtra Factor
and Ben on camera saying, "did anyone know that Shayne had those moves?" Everyone was excited by it
he could sing
he could dance.. He looked amazing
so WHAT HAS HAPPENED?
On the X Factor tour he wowed us with his performances, especially of Take Your Mama. He was the Shayne we had come to know and love from the X Factor: dynamic, sexy, hugely charismatic. But this isn't getting across now, WHY NOT?
Then No Promises got to No. 2, most likely on the back of his X Factor success and X Factor tour performance. Three months later, SBM, is released and virtually receives no airplay. The fact that it reached No. 14 with no airplay is absolutely amazing
evidence of Shayne's loyal fanbase.
The problem is not with Shayne- he's singing is awesome, but as Simon once said, you are filling a Ferrari with diesel! The songs have to be simply outstanding to expose him to a wider non X Factor audience, a fact that you have seemed to miss entirely.
You seem to think that Shayne's audience is only interested in ballads. Do you know who Shayne's audience is? Because we are not all adolescents, or female.
Look at the other music threads on this forum. Has anyone at Sony done that, to see what appeals to Shayne fans? Although Shayne's young fans are very important and have an important part to play in his success, his fanbase is much broader than that..and yet we all want something different!

Le président de la Commune rurale de Timoulilt, province d'Azilal, s'engage, de sa part, dans une guerre contre les enfants, les jeunes et la population, en les empêchant de jouir des services de la seule bibliothèque rurale, de la seule photocopieuse, des cours d'informatique et des cours de renforcement scolaires, après avoir couper l'électricité et adresser un ordre d'évacuation à l'Association Timoulilt pour le développement du local abritant ladite bibliothèque.
Pourtant les dispositions du partenariat régissant l'exploitation du local concerné, stipulant que l'ATD à le droit de l'exploiter durant toute la durée de son existence légale et que la commune contribue dans les charge de son entretien, de l'électricité et de l'eau.
Pour cela nous condamnons l'acte criminel du Président vis-à-vis de la population et nous adressons un appel urgent aux autorités locales, provinciales, régionales et centrales et touts esprits vifs d'intervenir pour assainir ladite situation.

في الوقت الذي يتمسك فيه المغرب ملكا وشعبا ، داخل الوطن وخارجه، بحبال التنمية البشرية في أفق إخراج أبناء وطننا من مخالب الفقر والجهل، أبى رئيس جماعة تيموليلت القروية بإقليم أزيلال، إلا أن يحرم المئات من الأطفال والشباب الشباب والمواطنين من خدمات المكتبة القروية الوحيدة في الجماعة والناسخة الوحيدة ودروس المعلوميات ودروس الدعم والتقوية بعد قطعه للتيار الكهربائي وتوجيه أمر بإفراغ المقر الذي يضم هذه المرافق لجمعية تيموليلت للتنمية، رغم أن مقتضيات الشراكة الموقعة بين الجماعة والجمعية بهذا الخصوص، تنص على استغلاله طيلة مدة الوجود القانوني للجمعية وأن الجماعة تساهم في مصاريف صيانته والماء والكهرباء.
وعليه، فإننا نستنكر التصرفات اللاحضارية للسيد الرئيس ونوجه نداء عاجلا للسلطات المحلية والإقليمية والجهوية والمركزية ولذوي الضمائر الحية، لأن تتدخل لوضع حد لهذه الجريمة الشنعاء التي اقترفها رئيس الجماعة ضد ساكنة جماعة تيموليلت.

Urgent appeal and denunciation
At a time when Morocco, its king and people home and abroad, has strongly embarked on the path of human development in an effort to eradicate poverty and ignorance; the Mayor (President) of the Village of Timoulilt (province of Azilal) has chosen a path in the opposite direction. By cutting off electricity and ordering the evacuation of the only library that houses an assortment of reading materials (in French, Arabic and English), computer courses, the only photo copier available and tutorial services, he has deprived the children and the youth of the village of reading and developing their skills. All this despite the existence of a signed agreement of partnership between the Village council and the Association of Timoulilt for Development which oversees these activities.
We, therefore, condemn this criminal act by the Council's president and urge the government authorities and the public opinion to intervene urgently and correct this grave error.

7. Develop Patch for Older Games
I've created this petition to try to get Microsoft to create a patch to allow older (Windows 95/98) programs workable.
As almost all computer owners are aware, there are many games, as well as other applications, that were made before Windows XP was released, and will not work with Windows XP.
Countless dollars have gone into buying computer games, with the idea that you will always have the game to play. As time went on, Windows 95 turned to 98, and that evolved into ME. My first computer was a Windows 95, which I upgraded to 98, and all of my games worked. I soon bought a new computer with Windows ME on it, and many of my games still worked just fine. Then came Windows XP.
Upgrading to XP is pretty unavoidable, as all new programs are mainly manufactured for XP use. With upgrading to XP, you are losing the ability to play older computer games. I presonally have over 150 games that I am unable to play now. I probably spent an average of $10-$20 each on them, so that is alot of now wasted money.
I am now hesitant to buy any games for my new computer because they may not work in the next version of Windows.
Please, sign this petition to help me in my struggle to get Microsoft to develop a way to play older games on the computer.

8. STOP CORONA RESIDENTIAL ZONING CHANGES
THE CITY OF CORONA PLANNING COMMITTEE IS PROPOSING TO DEVELOP WAREHOUSES IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. THEY ARE PLANNING TO DEVELOP WHERE OUR HOMES CURRENTLY STAND. THIS PLAN WILL FORCE US TO LEAVE OUR HOMES WHERE SOME OF US ARE THIRD GENERATION RESIDENTS. MANY OF US ARE FAMILY AND LIFE LONG FRIENDS AND FEEL SAFE AND SECURE WITH OUR SURROUNDINGS.
9. Equality Among the Genders: A Sophmore Lady Basketball Team
Upon the end of a female freshman basketball's season only a select few make it to the next level--Junior Varsity. However that is not the case for the male freshman basketball players. They have a whole team designated for them: the sophomore team. While the boys have the priveledge of a sophmore team, girls have no such thing. Lady basketball players who may be a little late blooming have no chance. They have no opportunity to fine-tune their skills before the varsity level. A lady sophmore team would in turn help the lady basketball program because it would give them more time to develop and expose the girls to the high school competition level. Opponents in our district would not be hard to find because Plano ISD school have sophmore teams for their boys as well as their girls. Equality among the genders is there ..shouldn't it be here too?
10. Corruption free Government Offices
Instead of taking step to develop our country I want the government to take
the first step of creating corruption free Government Offices. Our Country has all strength to develop on its own, only the government authorities are not allowing development.
I also understand Government is formed by people, but I feel it is easier to take action on government employees who take bribes than taking action on 100 crore population.
11. Medal of Honor Online Anti-Cheat
We as consumers and part of the international online "Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault(TM)" gaming community, express our intention of boycotting the PC CDROM title "Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead(TM)" published by Electronic Arts.
Since the initial release of Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault(TM), a thriving
community of players has developed. This community has now grown to include
thousands of online gamers who regularly join multiplayer servers via the in game browser, GameSpy Arcade or any other 3rd party software.
Despite this, the Publisher/Developers of Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault(TM)
have declined to include an Anti-Cheat for this game, which is riddled with
many 3rd party cheats and hacks such as aimbots, weapons no recoil, see
through wallhacks, no fog, no bushes and trees, and many others...
Punkbuster (http://www.evenbalance.com), a developer of anti-cheat software
is willing to develop an anti-cheat system, but only can do so if EA is
interested in PunkBuster.
We understand the Expansion pack (which includes multiplayer maps) doesn't
include any official form of online anti-cheat, the reason for expressing
our intention to boycott this title.
12. Ottawa Indoor Training Facility
The City of Ottawa has completed a Feasibility Study for a Multipurpose Sport Development and Training Facility.
The City's Health, Recreation and Social Services Committee will consider this report and accept public input at their meeting at 9:30 AM on February 7, 2002.
The purpose of this petition is to express support for this study and to encourage the City to proceed with the processes required to develop an indoor training facility.
