2. I, too, "am fearfully and wonderfully made"

At the close of the year 2006, there were 689 reported and confirmed cases of severe child abuse and neglect in York County, South Carolina. This includes only this one county, and doesn't account for the multitude of cases that likely went unreported.

Not a single one of these cases resulted in a prison sentence for the perpetrator greater than 11 years. More significant sentences have been granted for the abuse of animals, which is demonstrated by the attached documentation.

Child abuse and neglect is an epidemic in our country, and one that must be stopped. Most of us have heard the phrase "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" (Exodus 21:23-27). This idea represents exact retribution, insisting that the perpetrator should suffer exactly what the victim has suffered.

As we present this petition before the court and its people, we argue for exact retribution for all victims of child abuse. The effects of such abuse do not go away; they may be nummed, but follow an individual throughout the rest of their lives.

Thus, since the victim will suffer until their life ends, so should the offender. We insist that a fair sentence for such a crime should last for a lifetime as well.

3. German Civil Courts: Stop judging people Guilty without a Trial

A decision made by a German Civil Court , that I was guilty of a Complaint, and I was liable to pay damages plus legal costs.

The Court did not recognise the fact that I was not a German speaker.

That my reply was late, because I had little understanding of the German language, and that I did not know what the claim was made for.

I was judged guilty without even a Trial. I am not the ownly Foreign Resident in Germany, who has suffered being "punished" without a Trial.

This ignores Basic human rights, respected in most Countries around the World.

4. Abolish Gender Bias in Illinois Family Courts

July 17, 2006

Illinois Family Courts have established an alarming pattern of taking children away from stay-at-home mothers and awarding custody to fathers, who in many cases have a history of abuse and violence.

More than 250 profiles of cases are documented. The Family Court system has forgotten about the children and focused on money.

Local children are coming forward to expose the court-ordered damage these innocent victims endure.

6. REFORM of the DEPARTMENT of PROTECTIVE & FAMILY SERVICES

Petition for the Reform of the Department of Family and Protective Services.

This Petition has been drafted and put together for the Purpose of forcing those in Officials Positions to ADDRESS and Appropriately deal with the issues surrounding the ABUSE of Parents, Families, and their Children by the very Governmental Agency designed and originally established to protect children, help, aide, and serve Families in need.

TOO MANY innocent families have already been destroyed for the financial gains of this greedy self-suiting Governmental Agency and it is long past the time for this ABUSE to STOP.

After reading the Petition, we are confident that you will AGREE that these ARE very needed changes, whether or not you or your family has been personally affected by a case with CPS (Child Protective Services).

If there were no real need for these such changes, then this Petition would have never been prepared for "your" support.

Please proceed now to the Petition.

THANK YOU~!

7. Save The Ten commandments

The first amendment: " Congress shall make now laws prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Two court cases will be held before the supreme court to hear the ruling and to make a decision on the rules of publicly displaying the Ten Commandments.

The large Texas cases took form in 2002 when a homeless atheist man named Thomas Van Orden passed by the monument, which sits next to the American Flag, American Eagle, and other religious symbols subscribed by Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and charged it of being an unconstitutional establishment of religion. The federal district court rejected his argument, ruling the state's reasons for placing the monument were clearly secular. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit also upheld the decision in 2003, and Van Orden appealed the decision to the Supreme Court.

The out come of this case will inevitably change the way the Christian religion is held in this country. The ruling of making the ten commandments illegal to have in government buildings will trickle down to it being illegal to having them displayed anywhere in public. This will most likely lead to crosses being taken down off the sides of churches and the ultimate concealment of the whole Christian faith! This clearly violates the first amendment the courts are saying the ruling would be supporting.

Please help justice prevail in this court and help protect ALL religions in this great nation we reside in. Please take time to sign this petition and put forth an effort to keep the Ten Commandments in view of all onlookers.

8. Rights for Sex Abuse Survivors First!

I vote that the rights of survivors of child sexual abuse are not being put first and should be. It takes an enormous amount of personal fortitude to even open up and say "I have been abused". Thus, it should be no issue that when a survivor addresses the issue with the police or authority concerned that in all cases the survivor should be treated seriously, with respect and dignity and their concerns should be invesitigated without fail.

Survivors are put off by a system that does not care, causing a life of stress and a cost to the economy. Equally importantly, the pedophile is allowed to roam free to attack other children. We can prevent these situations, and should. If you agree, vote now.

9. Immunisation Funding for Pneumococcal Disease

Pneumococcal Meningitis is the most common form of bacterial meningitis in infants and the elderly. It is also the most severe. Even with modern treatment it has a 10% mortality rate and about 40%incidence of complications such as deafness, blindness, spasticity and learning difficulties. The Meningicoccal strain of meningitis has been included in the free immunisation list even though it has only had 18 reported cases in a year compared to 512 cases of Invasive Pneumococcal Disease.

The Pneumococcal immunisation (Prevenar) may also lead to a decrease in instances of non-invasive Pneumococcal Disease such as Otitis Media (Common ear infection) and pneumonia.

10. Stop Media Violence

An epidemiological study was conducted by the American Medical Association to finalize whether the media is indeed responsible for societal violence. Research compared the happenings of surrounding nations with television, to that of nations without. All observed areas were both demographically and ethnically identical, having the television alone as a variable. The findings were astounding. Every examined region, in which media had been introduced, had a drastic upswing in the rate of violence with children. Within fifteen years the murder rate had doubled. The span of time can be explained simply in that it was the duration needed for the exposed three to five year olds to reach the 'prime crime age'. One example supporting these findings occurred in a small Canadian town in the year of 1973. At this time the town had just been introduced to media influence. Shortly after, there was an incredible 160 percent increase in aggression among the first and second graders of the area. Yet another example is the outstanding increase in the imprisonment rate, which has quadrupled since 1975, a year in which media violence had become more prevelant.

Presently, in the United States, there are about two million teens who have possession of a deadly weapon, approximately 135,000 carry them to school. Many believe this is due to overexposure to violence in the media. On average, media viewers encounter an act of serious violence such as: rape, kidnapping, murder, or assault once every four minutes. The problem we face is the possibility of when viewing these horrendous acts consistently, youth will be more inclined to mimic these actions publicly. One such example is the infamous movie, Natural Born Killers (a Warner Brother production) that has been found to be responsible for more than a dozen murder cases, such as the following. In the year of 1994, a fourteen-year-old boy, who was accused of decapitating his younger sister, claimed he only had wished to be like the Natural Born Killers. Yet another teen, who had become obsessed with the movie, shaved his head and wore tinted green granny glasses (like Mickey the main character) before murdering his stepmother and half-sister. The American Medical Association has concluded that since television was founded in the 1950's, the media has been a casual factor behind 10,000 homicides, 70,000 rapes, and 700,000 assaults annually. There is no excuse for this individually or nationally, and it must be brought to an end.

As Americans of this proud nation we cannot ignore these issues with a complacent attitude. Rather, we must make it a priority to renew national morality by petitioning the industry itself.

11. Ban the Selling of Pet Shop Puppies

We are most concerned at the increase of puppies and dogs being sold throughout Petshops in New Zealand. The numbers are increasing dramatically and some Breeders in NZ appear to be breeding for the Pet Shop Market and puppies being sold for huge amounts of money.

Not enough information is being given out re the Breeds of dogs, the sizes they grow to, the care they need, a suitable environment or contact with people in the same Breeds.

Many of these dogs once grown are being dumped into Rescue organisations or left to wander the streets until impounded. There are many horror stories and we are becoming aware of more.

We are also concerned about health issues with the puppies, after hearing of many cases with puppies being sold with fatal viruses or congenital diseases, usually unbeknown to the purchaser.

A Pet shop is not a suitable environment to sell a puppy from. There is not enough people contact, no training can be given and one of our worst concerns is what happens to the puppies who are not sold after 3 months of age?

We feel there are enough unwanted puppies and dogs in New Zealand, without Pet Shops adding to the problem by encouraging backyard breeders and puppy farmers to mate their bitch with the dog down the road, to produce some puppies to sell to the local petshop. These puppies are then sold on with no background checks on the new owners, no property inspections and no investigation into the suitability of the new owner for the breed.

We find it hard to understand why any dog breeder would place their puppies into Petshops to onsell and the only reason has to be monetary....

MAF has guidelines on the Selling of Companion Animals but we are aware that these are not being adhered to in alot of cases and are very hard for MAF and the SPCA to police.

This petition gives you a chance to express your feelings on the subject of puppies/dogs being sold through Petshops.

12. Save our Beloved pet reptiles! Education before annihilation!

Over the past 20-30 years reptile keeping has been very favored to select groups of people. These hobbiests would get a special feeling and bond with these fascinating creatures. Safe and clean housing was practised and everything was fine until the past 5 years when the pet trade caught on to the idea and reptile keeping and breeding became extremly popular. With the sudden demand for these extremly popular animals safe handling and clean housing was lost not for all but for some new to the hobby.

Now a new challenge has arised the HSUS is determine to eliminate the entire hobby of reptile keeping. Making up excusses finding week points anything to win but we fight back with education. With more people understanding how to take care of these acient animals then the hobby can be saved for future generations. There have been very view cases of salmonella over the years herptrologist who know everything about reptiles and study them can prodly say there is a very low risk of salmonella the HSUS just needs an excuss so please don't give it to them read befor you buy and act responisbly.

EDUCATE THE PUBLIC DON'T TAKE AWAY OUR HOBBY. education first before ahnnilation! REPTILES ARE MISUNDERSTOOD LETS WORK TOGTHER TO EDUCATE PEOPLE AND SHOW THEM THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT HOW DOCILE AND WONDERFUL THESE ANIMALS CAN BE!

13. Save our beloved pets: Reptile education first!

For many years reptiles have been kept as the ideal pet. They are hardy in captivity, get few diseases and calm right down in captivity. For 20 or more years people have kept there beloved pets. Within the last 4-5 years reptile keeping has rocketed to the top and as more and more people go to buy these amazing creatures irresponsibility has set in and the hsus has siezed the chance trying to ban our beloved pets which we have kept over these years so peacefully.

The answer is not banning these wonderful creatures. With education and conservation we can enjoy these animals in our homes and in the wild. We should promote better keeping practises for these animals and there are many programs for keeping the populations intact in the wild. Salmonella is very low in reptiles. With clean, safe housing reptiles and humans will be safe from such diseases.

So please do not ruin the chance for our future generations to keep these creatures. Lets work togther to make a more educated world not one without reptiles.

15. Moratorium on Death Sentences in the US

For those who do not know, a Moratorium is:
"a legally authorized period of delay in the performance of a legal obligation or the
payment of a debt b : a waiting period set by an authority"
I am sending this petition to the Govenor of Texas, in a plea for him to grant a Moratorium on current death sentences to be carried out. I am not asking for an opinion or vote on pro/anti death penalty. I am not attempting to abolish the death penalty. I am fighting for the rights of a fair trial and due process. It has been proven in 350 capital convictions over the past 20 years
that the convicted person had not committed the crime. Of these cases,25 people were executed before their innocence was discovered.
In cases where the person was guilty, or at least not proven innocent, most of these did not recieve adequate representation. On many cases the lawyer assigned to the case, had never tried a murder case, and/or an appeals case. In one trial, the defense attorney fell asleep during half of the trial! Fell asleep! And the Judge did nothing saying, that the law doesn't require an attorney to be awake during the trial!
Wrather you are for or against the Death Penalty doesn't apply. We are not fighting for the lives of criminals, we are fighting for fair trials, adequate representation, and a Criminal justice system that stands for the morals, ethics, and virtues, our country promises. Declaring the innocence or guilt is not our judgment, our judgment is to be sure that the person/people determining innocence or guilt, are doing so following all standards and proceedings as they are stated in our constitution and the laws that define what we in America stand for.
I am requesting a Moratorium-that all executions be postponed-untill the system is evalutated and an investigation of criminal proceedings is completed. The system is being investigated regardless, but in the meantime, people are being executed, some which may be proven innocent, probaly once it's too late to matter. Once the investigation is completed, those still found guilty and deserving, will have their execution date set and carried through. We are always open and able to carry through an execution, but once someone gets the needle, there is nothing we can do. We fight not for rights of murderers, we fight for the rights of a country founded on freedom and fairness.

16. Free The West Memphis 3 - Jailed without proper evidence

The Robin Hood Hills Murders
May 5th, 1993 was a Wednesday, and when the Weaver Elementary school bell rang, three 8 year old boys headed home to their nearby West Memphis, Arkansas neighborhood. Only a few hours later they would be reported missing and an informal search by their parents would be under way.

The next afternoon at 1:45 PM, a child's body was pulled from a creek in an area known as Robin Hood Hills. Eventually the bodies of the other two missing children were found nearby. All three of them were naked and they had been tied ankle to wrist with their own shoe laces. The children had been severely beaten, and one child, Christopher Byers, appears to have been the focus of the attack; he had been stabbed repeatedly in the groin area and castrated.

A triple homicide is extremely unusual, and particularly when the victims are children and unrelated to one another. So far, two documentary films have been made about this case, and interest in it shows no sign of fading. The facts surrounding the Robin Hood Hills murders, the events which they triggered, the aftermath, the trials, the verdicts and the hearings have been the focus of an ongoing research project for the past several years and we have reached many surprising conclusions.

Having had no previous experience with this type of murder, the West Memphis Police Department allowed potential evidence to be destroyed at the site where the bodies of Steve Branch, Christopher Byers and Michael Moore were located. Officers who were present made very little apparent effort to preserve or properly document the scene or to make accurate notes. Perhaps this was due to negligence or perhaps it was due to the fact that they were inadequately trained and inexperienced in handling such a crime and the events that naturally follow. Many unidentified people can be seen milling around the bodies in the brief crime scene video, and the Chief Investigator, Gary Gitchell can be seen smoking a cigarette well within the perimeter of the area.

Strangely, a juvenile probation officer was present when the horrible discovery was made and he indulged in speculation with a police officer about who might be responsible for such an unspeakable act. The probation officer had been following the activities of a local teenager named Damien Echols for years, and his first instinct what that the moody, dark haired teen was responsible. In fact, he and the police officer agreed that Damien was the only person they felt was "capable" of such a thing. Both men decided that the triple homicide had actually been a bizarre Satanic ritual sacrifice performed by a "cult" which they imagined Damien was the leader of.

17. A Time For Change

Disabled persons in Newfoundland & Labrador have come under recent attack via Health and Community Services, whereby long term established care has been tested and tried by appointed Community Health Boards which lack educated and experienced personnel in being able to make proper judgment calls in often life threatening medical situations.

These boards are without specific direction or education on the need of individual clients and situations have arisen where disabled individuals have been left helpless and alone to provide for themselves.

Assessments previously conducted on clients with programs and services in effect as a result of these assessments have in many cases been privy to the discretion of front line workers, whereby irrational decisions have been made, and negatively affecting client services. Clients with sever and life altering disabilities are now being placed in unfair predicaments and many are taking ill.

Hospitalization of various individuals with severe disability requires specifically trained and experienced individuals to care for the patient. In all cases if this is a requirement of clients under the umbrella of Health and Community Services, then funding is channeled to the client for the purpose of employing these client supports. If however a client is hospitalized for more than 72 hours he/she will lose both funding and supportive service of the employee. This often puts grave detriment on the patient as most hospital staff are generally trained and have no experience in disease specific disability.

Persons with such osteo disease are now at severe risk of injury. This has to change.

18. Ban the Sale of Reptiles as Pets

Reptiles should not be sold as pets. Keeping these animals exposes owners to salmonella infections and often results in the suffering and death of the reptile.

More and more people are buying reptiles as pets, causing both an increase in salmonella poisoning cases as well as a growing market for these wild animals, who frequently suffer and die due to incorrect handling and improper care.

Due to contact, both direct and indirect, with pet reptiles, 93,000 people in the United States are infected with salmonella each year, and thousands are hospitalized. Unfortunately children, ages 5 years and under, make up the majority of cases because of their developing immune systems. In fact, reptile-associated salmonellosis can be fatal. It is responsible for the death of 20 people each year and has caused several infant deaths in recent years.

Reptiles, such as turtles, lizards, and snakes, are non-domesticated animals, unlike other companion animals such as dogs and cats, requiring very special care. Frequently these animals are purchased and mistreated due to the new owner's unfamiliarity with a reptile's unique food and care requirements.

Reptiles sold as pets are both caught in the wild and raised in captive environments. While concerns with human health and animal welfare remain whether the animal is wild-caught or captive-bred, there is additional stress and suffering for the wild-caught animals who have to endure capture and transportation from their natural environments. Prohibiting the sale of reptiles as pets will help reduce occurrences of reptile-associated salmonellosis and allow the animals to live out their natural life-spans without the pain or distress brought about by the reptile trade.

History: Between 1970 and 1975 hatchling red-eared slider turtles were a popular pet for children in the US. During this time, 250,000 cases of reptile-associated salmonellosis in children and infants were reported to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In response to this, in 1975 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration enacted a ban on the sale of turtles with a shell of less than four inches in length. This led to a 77% decrease in the number of annual cases of reptile-associated salmonellosis reported to the CDC.

The number of pet reptiles in the U.S. is again increasing. According to the American Pet Product Manufacturers Association 2000 survey on pet ownership, 3.9 million American households have one or more pet reptiles. This is a shocking 44% increase since 1998. Reptile-associated salmonellosis cases have risen along with the current pet reptile trend.

It is clear that current public education efforts and media attention on this issue have been ineffective in preventing this illness since the number of annual reptile-associated salmonellosis cases reported to the CDC have nearly doubled since 1995. In a 1999 public advisory the CDC stated that reptile-associated salmonellosis poses a "substantial health threat to humans."

In addition, reptiles are subject to serious abuse and neglect in the reptile trade. In fact, it is estimated that 90% of reptiles caught in the wild die within their first year of captivity due to mistreatment and neglect suffered during their capture and transport. Many reptiles, both wild-caught and capitive-bred, also perish at the hands of reptile owners who are unprepared to meet the specialized care requirements of these animals.

The sale of reptiles as pets should be banned in order to protect the American public, and in particular children, from reptile-associated salmonellosis. This action will also eliminate the needless animal suffering and mortality brought about by the reptile trade.
