1. Curacao TRANSPARENCY group - Stop Corruption in Curacao 
There are many defenseless people in Curacao society, and also good people who have invested their money, and their lives in Curacao, who became victims of a wicked administrative system controlled by a few so called powerful enriched bureaucrats who have created a financial corrupted network: family, friends, acquaints etc. spiritual slaves, over the past six decades to control Curacao's impoverished society for their sole egoistic material purposes.
2. Friday should be dress like Jack Sparrow day
Most people who have seen the delightful Captain Jack Sparrow can appreciate the hotness of him.
To start the weekend off in a pleasing way to the eye I propose that Friday should be a day of Jack Sparrows!
All men, and women if they choose to, should be required to dress up like Mr Sparrow.
Those men who don't should be put in stocks and have rotten fruit and veg thrown at them.
3. Review Charlotteville Beachfront Development
There have been plans submitted by Architects on orders from the Tobago House of Assembly to construct a huge concrete & glass structure right across our fishing village beachfront.
Many villagers believe that this will destroy our village charm & be to the detriment of our way of life.
There have been no precise consultations with villagers on these proposals & we have drawn up an alternative proposal more inkeeping with the environment & region.
4. Give Caribana Back to the Community
In 1967 a group of visionaries from the Caribbean community formed the Caribbean Cultural Committee(CCC) and created, organized and presented the internationally recognized festival CARIBANA™ in Toronto Canada.
This festival has developed into the largest street festival in North America injecting over $400 million into the local economy annually. In 2006 the City of Toronto withheld funding for the festival from the CCC and transferred the funding to the Toronto Mas Bands Association(TMBA) and appointed Joe Halstead as head of a Festival Management Committee(FMC) to oversee the governance and finances of the annual festival.
An agreement was made between the CCC, the TMBA and the FMC for the FMC to manage the festival for one year ending December 31st 2006 under the guise of Joe Mihevic. Since then the FMC nor the City has returned the funding of the festival to the creators and operators for 39 years the CCC now the CARIBANA™ Arts Group(CAG). Negotiations have been going on for over 3 years for an official licencing agreement with the FMC to manage the festival however they would not agree to the CAG's terms.
The FMC has chosen to call the CARIBANA™ festival by a different name and operate it without a licencing agreement after the CAG was forced to take the matter to Ontario Superior Court to protect its trademark and stop unauthorized use of the name CARIBANA™. Appeals have been made to Toronto City Councillors to address the issue yet there has been no response. This community event has been transferred to another organization and has put a halt to 43 years of cultural tradition that the CARIBANA™ festival brings to Toronto. Give Back CARIBANA™ to the Community, it's rightful owners. The CARIBANA™ festival is the cultural, social and economic medium that the Caribbean's in Canada created to express their cultural heritage and affect positive change within the Caribbean community.
Scotiabank became title sponsor of the festival in 2008 through the FMC and is aware of the history and significance of the CARIBANA™ Festival, as it was called Scotiabank CARIBANA™ from 2008-2010. The City of Toronto, the FMC and Scotiabank should have assisted the CARIBANA™ Arts Group in expanding the CARIBANA™ festival. What has happened now is that the parent body of the CARIBANA™ festival has been left out to dry after creating a festival that has injected over $20 billion in economic activity during it's existence to the City of Toronto, the Province of Ontario and the Country of Canada.
Give the CARIBANA™ festival back to it's rightful owners.

6. Jamaica needs Regeneration of the Garrison Communities
Kingston, Jamaica, has been overshadowed recently with a spade of violence caused from a number of political and social blunders. This has a devastating impact on the already torn economy. In fact, Jamaica has lost millions of dollars in the last few weeks as a result of the mayhem.
Jamaicans in the UK and all across the world are saddened by the turmoil. We all love Jamaica dearly and we would like to see a massive transformation in the politics and the social situation in Jamaica.
We are therefore appealing to the good nature of all Jamaicans and friends of Jamaica at home and abroad to intervene and give your support and raise your voices so that Jamaica will one day overcome this adversity and reclaim its rightful position as the PEARL OF THE CARIBBEAN.
7. Stop the use of Chemical Pesticides on Banana crops
Chemical pesticides have been used on banana crops for over half a century. The wide spread use of these pesticides in South American countries has produced numerous accounts of physical illness on the people who work on banana plantations as well as the people of the surrounding villages and towns.
The corporations who use these pesticides on a regular basis are ignoring many of these illness issues. The illnesses that are inflicted on the workers and their families cause undue financial and physical harm, and do not allow them to keep their jobs, which are essential to providing for their families.

9. Freedom for All Cuban Political Prisoners
We would like to bring to your attention the state of human rights in Cuba. On March 18, 2003, a crackdown occurred where many peaceful human rights activists—like Oscar Elias Biscet—were arrested. Many remain imprisoned today.
Following the death of Orlando Zapata Tamayo, an imprisoned Cuban and human rights advocate who was on hunger strike from December 3, 2009-February 24, 2010 demanding his most basic human rights, many have assumed a hunger strike requesting the same basic human rights for political prisoners as Orlando Zapata Tamayo. Some activists, like Guillermo Fariñas and Felix Bonne Carcasses, have even expressed their willingness to die for the cause of freedom and human rights, as did Orlando Zapata Tamayo.
We strongly urge you to demand the release of all individuals who have been arrested and convicted on the basis of their peaceful political activities and their efforts to promote and protect basic human rights in Cuba. In addition, we urge you to demand the prompt medical care of all political prisoners who are suffering from serious medical conditions.
While all Cuban human rights defenders remain in detention, we urge you to ensure that they no longer be subjected to further torture and abuse. According to the international human rights law, all persons held in detention must be treated with humanity and dignity and that they must not be subjected to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment (UN Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners and the UN Body of Principles for the Protection of all Persons Under Any Form of Detention or Imprisonment). According to the 1998 UN Declaration on Human Rights Defenders, which Cuba actively participated in drafting and passing, all persons have the right to effective access to participation in the government of their country and in the conduct of public affairs. The Declaration also provides that everyone has the right "freely to publish, impart or disseminate to others views, information and knowledge on all human rights and fundamental freedoms."
We call on the Cuban government to recognize the important work of Cuban human rights defenders, cease the persecution of these valiant men and women, and liberate those detained.
10. Release Orlando Zapata Tamayo
I would like to bring to your attention the case of Orlando Zapata Tamayo, an imprisoned Cuban and human rights advocate. On a hunger strike since December 3, 2009, for purely requesting some of his most basic human rights, it appears Zapata Tamayo is on the brink of death, and we are requesting he receive the best medical attention possible immediately.
I am deeply concerned by recent reports of the substandard conditions of medical attention that Zapata Tamayo has received, as well as the conditions of his detention. He was reportedly deprived of water for 16 days by prison officials.
I strongly urge you to order the release of Orlando Zapata Tamayo and all other individuals who have been arrested and convicted on the basis of their peaceful political activities and their efforts to promote and protect basic human rights in Cuba.
According to the 1998 UN Declaration on Human Rights Defenders, which Cuba actively participated in drafting and passing, all persons have the right to effective access to participation in the government of their country and in the conduct of public affairs. The Declaration also provides that everyone has the right "freely to publish, impart or disseminate to others views, information and knowledge on all human rights and fundamental freedoms." The important work of Cuban human rights defenders should be recognized by the government and they should be supported rather than persecuted.

The Cuban government should ensure the application of the UN Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners and the UN Body of Principles for the Protection of all Persons Under Any Form of Detention or Imprisonment, which further elaborate the basic standards to be achieved in ensuring respect for the rights of detainees.
I will continue to monitor these cases closely and appreciate your immediate attention to this important matter.
11. Reduce Noise Pollution from Gascon Villas Bar on Satar Street, Aranguez
Presently, the music played by the bar operated by Gascon Villas, especially on weekends, can be heard 100 feet or more from that location. It is believed that the varying volume level of music throughout the evening until wee hours of the morning, is a ploy to attract the passing vehicles on the road rather than for only the enjoyment of the bar's patrons.
The amount of noise emanating from the bar has interfered with the "quiet enjoyment" of our homes and is especially disturbing to the many elderly and young children resident at Satar Street.
12. Appeal to the Haitian Government

Absolute Promotions, headed by Neil Beepat just held a very well attended drag racing event in St. Lucia at the old Beanfield airstrip, better known as "The Base" in Vieux Fort.
The event was an unparalleled success and and this could be the beginning of St. Lucia becoming the hub for drag racing events in the Caribbean due to our facilities and central location.
Without another event held early in the year, interest will wane and the likelihood of another event of this magnitude being hosted will be slim.

There has been a Black presence in Britain since Roman times. Seventeenth Century London was home to more than 10,000 Black residents. However it was the 492 Caribbean men and women and those that followed from other parts of the Commonwealth such as Africa, India and Pakistan that played such a significant role in creating modern Britain. However, it has to be recognised that the seeds of modern migration started with 10,000 Caribbean service men and women who volunteered during World War II.
One of the key contributions of the Windrush Generation is making Britain more open and reflective based on the shared acknowledgment of social injustice and the values of hard work, tolerance and respect. The long history and campaigns for racial equality from the 1950s to the 1970s was the British equivalent of the American civil rights movement. Race relations and subsequent human rights legislation on gender, disability, age, religion and belief, and sexual orientation have made Britain more humane and socially aware.
This was reinforced by cultural dialogue on musical taste, food, life style and fashion, and the relationships by which Black, White, Asian and other communities created the multicultural nature, ethos and lifestyle which are now an accepted part of mainstream thinking and society.
This generation of people born between 1910-1930 will have passed away which means that the next Windrush celebrations in 2018 will be an empty and hollow affair. We will regret this as a nation for not taking individual and collective responsibility in systematically documenting their history as part of a legacy for the young people of all races and nationality regarding our contribution to Britain and beyond.

De aprobarse dicho proyecto, causaría un grave daño a la población de tortugas baula que allí se reproduce. Reduciría aún más su ya de por si insuficiente área de amortiguamiento además de desencadenar el desmantelamiento del sistema de parques nacionales de Costa Rica.

I wish to express my deep preoccupation in regards to the law project 17383 “Rectificación de Límites del Parque Nacional Marino Las Baulas y creación del Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Las Baulas de Propiedad Mixta”.
If approved, this law would cause a great damage on leatherback turtle populations which reproduce there. It would reduce the already insufficient protected surrounding area, on top of dismantling Costa Rica's national park system.
17. Stop Labour's unfair Caribbean passenger tax
The Labour government plan to tax Caribbean passengers at a higher rate than those travelling to the West Coast of the United States, which is further away from the UK.
We want the flight taxes based on the distance they travel and the carbon dioxide levels they emit. This would be fairer on UK residents with family in the Caribbean and better for the environment, too.
18. Land Reform and Justice for All in the Bahamas

In recent years, numerous land disputes have come before our Courts. Some have been going on for years without resolution. Many innocent unsuspecting Bahamians have been defrauded of their properties because of unscrupulous actions by greedy landsharks. Many of these victims purchased their properties through local banks, whose approved lawyer (from the bank's list of approved lawyers) informed both the victim and the bank that after completing a proper title search, the title was good and marketable. The banks then advanced money for the property and the purchaser made monthly payments to the bank until the loan was paid off.
The property owner later discovers that someone else or some company is claiming to be the owner of the property and a long process of litigation begins. The victim now faces the stress and financial burden of litigation and becomes fearful of losing their home or property. CITIZENS FOR JUSTICE is an organization that advocates for victims' rights and justice for all.
This PETITION is to encourage government intervention and action on behalf of the many land and homeowners throughout the Bahamas, who have been afffected including property owners in Pinewood Gardens, Nassau Village and Sir Lynden Pindling Estates. The establishment of a land register along with the the enactment of the relevant legislation, will benefit thousands of Bahamians crying out for JUSTICE.
It has been proven that a proper system of land registration promotes prosperity in developing countries, causing ALL landowners to be granted secure property rights. Other benefits are that the landowner will have investment collateral, sustainable land use and income opportunities. The system presently in use has greatly disadvantaged the poor. Proper land reform and the establishment of a land register in the Bahamas will prevent landowners from becoming victims of fraud and land disputes since each title will be guaranteed by the state. Land transfer will become quite simple and there will be no need for repetitive title investigation.
Land known as GENERATION property will be regularized and rightful and deserving family members will be granted good and marketable in fee simple estate by the Courts.
CITIZENS FOR JUSTICE is calling on Bahamians all over the Bahamas to sign the PETITION. Most countries in the Caribbean and around the world have a land register for the protection of their citizens. Ireland, a nation of 4.2 million persons, has one of the most advanced land registers in Europe. Currently 95% of all land mass in Ireland is registered and over 85% of all legal titles are registered with their Property Registration Authority, which was established in 2006. Their register is scheduled to be completed in 2010. Funding for setting up land registration can be obtained from the World Bank and the Inter-American Bank among other agencies.
Concerned Bahamians are urged to SIGN THE PETITION. We will all benefit including future generations.
19. Saint Lucia - Save the Pitons !
The Pitons of St Lucia was nominated by UNESCO World Heritage Site in June 2004. Since then, they are in danger and not protected against constructions and "developments".
20. Institute Grandparents' Day Worldwide
For years grandparents sacrificed their time and raise grandchildren but their contribution to society is not well recognised.
For those who were never raised by parents but by grandparents we would love to have a day celebrated in honour of our grandparents.
21. No Property Tax Increase in Trinidad & Tobago
In her 2010 budget presentation, the Finance Minister the Honorable Karen Nunez Tesheira proposed a review in the chargeable rate of property tax on every private and commercial property in Trinidad & Tobago. The budget has since been passed.
With all the hardships already faced by citizens within Trinidad & Tobago, many citizens are now faced with the reality that that they cannot afford this increase. This increase is deemed to be ill conceived, callous and of no real benefit to the population at large.
After all the taxes that we already pay, we the population get little returns in terms of social services, infrastructure and public utilities.
This tax increase is just another way of depending on the citizens to fund big projects that do not benefit the population at large!
While we expect the Government to seek ways to raise revenue, seeking to punish property owners for having dreams of one day owning their own property surely is not the way!
22. Do Not allow Late Releases/Remixes for 2010 HAITI CARNIVAL
As some of you might recalled the 2009 carnival was held on February 22-24, 2009 in Haiti, and it was probably by far one of the worse carnival moments in decades due to the fact that many of the bands were waiting to the last moment to release/remix their carnival tracks.
If one can goes a few years back during the 90’s through 00’s era majority of the population (especially the kids) used to at least remember a partial of the carnival song and also enjoyed what they were listening.
Now this day is another story, people do not even have time to enjoy the song before the big 3 days because of the late release and multiple remix.
23. We have a dream: Cuba Libre
I understand the pain of the Cubans in exile. But, it is time to turn the tide because 50 years is enough! Even though we have technology that connects us with a click we are separated. The failed government of Cuba thinks it is still fooling the world but reality exposes that communism can not function for society. The thinking of the passing generation worked in the 1960s to trick the population but it won't work now.
This petition is one of many baby steps because I believe we need to get our foot in the door. All this talking about the concert in Cuba and all the different opinions is just the recipe I have been praying for. What we should do is ask God to break down the invisible wall of darkness that separates millions of families for 50 years!
Break the chains that are rooted in pride. We must put pride aside. The beautiful Cuban people have suffered enough. Lets get over to Cuba to restore, rebuild, and love. This action of love and mercy will bless millions and extend to healing the nation of the United States and the world. For Truth sets the captive free! The power of love is the greatest, it rides on a vessel of faith because of the One who made us.
I have envisioned the day will come. Like a caterpillar morphs into a butterfly, so is the freedom of Cuba. Lets light a candle of love with our heart and prayers. These things equal peace which is what we all want therefore the power of choice is in our hands so please sign this petition and join me in agreement for a free nation of Cuba.
I want to add to my petition the information from my trip to Cuba after 50 years. Cuba was in the 50s the 3rd most advanced Latin American country and now it is a third world country, this I witnessed with my own eyes. It is urgent that we labor for their freedom before we are all silenced.

24. Better traffic control during hours of operation of the Wesleyan Academy School
Motorists have been observed in violation of a posted sign that tells motorists what hours traffic is to follow an alternate route in conjunction with the hours of operation of the Wesleyan Academy School.
On several occasions parents have taken it upon themselves to direct the traffic and also to direct these motorists to follow the posted signage.
25. Support the Haitian Children & Families Initiative
UNICEF estimates that 490,000 children are orphans in Haiti. This translates to 6% of Haiti's total population.
In 2004, at the height of intercountry adoptions into the U.S., over 350 children were served through intercountry adoption. Thousands more including local Haitian communities were served by family preservation and other permanency services.
However, over the past three years the processing of adoptions in Haiti has slowed to a crawl. Abandoned children now endure 2 or more years of debilitating effects on their health, development and emotional well-being while awaiting the completion of their adoption.
The delays imposed over the past three years are largely the result of the Haitian government's implementation of an inadequate child welfare and protection law. This law provides insufficient child protections and does not reflect the realities of current Haitian society. While enforcement of current laws are generally seen a positive, this particular law is significantly dated and does not serve the best interest of children in need of a permanent family.
The obvious solution to the crisis is the passage and implementation of a new adoption and child protection law. Such a law has been drafted, introduced into the Haitian National Assembly and supported by the Joint Council on International Children's Services, the U.S. government, the French government and UNICEF.
26. Support the Initiatives Against Violence Toward Women and Children
In light of the recent rise in crime, especially towards women and children, we as a united front need to make known the urgent need for our government to take Substantial and Efficient steps to curb these heinous crimes.
27. Denounce Death Threats Against Juanes
Freedom of expression is an inalienable right for all individuals in all countries, at all times especially in matters of civic and political expression.
There is a public debate underway concerning a concert to be held in Cuba on September 20, 2009 organized by the Colombian musician Juanes as the latest in a series of concerts around the world with the theme peace without borders.
Although the concert is described as apolitical and directed at the Cuban people there are concerns that it will be politicized by the Cuban dictatorship.
Both Juanes and his critics have a right to exercise their freedom of expression.
Nevertheless, individuals have crossed that line and demonstrated their contempt for fundamental human rights. Two clear examples first on August 14th on 35th Ave. and SW 8th Street where a black shirt representing Juanes was doused with a flammable liquid and set on fire by a demonstrator who stated to the press: “This is what we are going to do with him burn him for being a communist, a traitor, a terrorist, and for licking Fidel Castro’s boots.” Secondly, A day later on Twitter Juanes received the following message: "I hate what you are saying but you will die for defending your right to say it."
These are not examples of free speech but verbal assaults: the threat to carry out physical harm against an individual. This is intolerable in a free society.
This is the kind of language used by Cuban government agents to intimidate members of the opposition in Cuba and reflects a country that today has 21 imprisoned journalists recognized by the Committee to Protect Journalists and 58 activists recognized by Amnesty International as prisoners of conscience rotting in prisons; where a man cries out in front of a camera that he is hungry and is sentenced to two years in prison. These are the kind of threats that are all too common in Cuba.
They are unacceptable in a free society.
28. Stop the Elbow Cay Club and Marina Development
This petition was circulated in and around Elbow Cay to allow Citizens, permanent residents, second Home owners and friends, to voice their opposition to the Elbow Cay Club and Marina development that is before Hope Town Council for “Approval in Principle”.
The Petitioning period has ended for the 20 August Council meeting. We were able to submit 454 signatures. We are keeping this petition going so others can also have a voice. Please sign the petition if you are opposed to this development as presented to Council.

29. Remove the corrupt PPP regime
Since 2002, Guyana under the PPP dictatorship has been reduced to a narco economy and on the verge of becoming a failed state. The PPP/C regime has plunged Guyana into the abyss with the imposition of VAT, ruthless phantom death squads, pervasive poverty and public lawlessness.
Several ministers have been linked to well known drug lords, public corruption abounds and maybe engendered by the burning down of at least 5 ministry buildings.
Many Afro-Guyanese men have been wrongfully arrested and tortured and in the case of David Leander (Biscuit) poisoned in jailed.
30. Stop Human Rights Violations in Guyana
The Guyana Government (PPP) headed by Bharrat Jagdeo and Security forces have failed to protect and serve its citizens fairly and within the laws of the United Nations Human Rights Act.
* Unsolved murders of 500 black men and women.
* Mysterious deaths in custody.
* Implicated into drugs trade/trafficking with a known international cartel.
* Gagging freedom of speech.
* Torturing of citizens.
* A Police Commissioner (Henry Greene) whose visa was revoked by the US for benefiting from the drugs trade.
