1. Stop Marmong Point development and Save our Birds and Bushland 
Petition to stop the proposed development of the retirement village and road and save our birds and bushland.
Due to the wide, rare, and diverse variety of bird and other native animal life that depend on the pond and surrounding bushland for food and shelter in the proposed area of development for the retirement village and road in Marmong Point, development application number : DA/2233/2010, also due to the impact on the environment of this fragile eco-system and the reduction of the nature corridor and habitat by the removal of trees, we are strongly opposed to this development.
2. Preservation of Bushland at Edith Cowan University
Edith Cowan University management have no plans to maintain the majority of bushland areas on the university grounds. It is likely that these areas will be flattened for future development.
Why is this important?
- ECU campuses are known for their iconic Australian bushland surroundings.
- There are currently no intentions to preserve extensive areas of existing bushland at ECU Joondalup campus.
- Urbanisation is a major contributing factor toward climate change, clearing native bushland areas will promote an environmentally irresponsible image for ECU in this respect.
- The bushland areas support a range of native wildlife.
- The surrounding bushland at ECU provide a positive and relaxing learning environment for students.
- These areas are valued by the community outside of ECU.

3. Save A Tree
The issue is that we are losing trees at a very fast pace. Without trees we can expect more runoffs of topsoil, the temperature of the earth to change, extinction of animals that rely on tree’s to live, and irregularities in the balance of carbon dioxide and oxygen.
Some might think that this won't affect us, but it can/will create a reaction on the earth that will affect other resources in the area. By saving the trees we are creating a better future for ourselves and our future children.
4. Allow Cristinella to attend The Church of Rock at Charlie Murdoch's
CRISTINELLA has been "banned" from attending The Church of Rock at Charlie Murdoch's Dueling Piano Bar on 3 occasions. The reasons for being "banned" have not fully been explained, and are irrational, considering that CRISTINELLA has positively promoted CHARLIE MURDOCH'S DUELING PIANO BAR for the past year.
JOEY GRANATI once revealed to CRISTINELLA that he planned on using the younger generation to generate publicity for himself as an entertainer. CRISTINELLA admires and reveres JOEY GRANATI, yet is cruelly punished for being CRISTINELLA.

5. Don't put 20,000 Bolivians out of work!
Petition to the Bush Administration, Congress, and Incoming U.S. President
Nearly two decades ago, under President Bush's father, the U.S. began the Andean Trade Preference Act (ATPDEA). That program offers Bolivia and a handful of other Latin American nations reduced U.S. tariffs, allowing them to develop new industries and jobs exporting products such as textiles, jewelry, and hand-carved furniture.
In September, as part of the Bush administration's feud with Bolivian President Evo Morales, President Bush announced that he will use his executive authority to axe Bolivia out of those trade preferences.
The actual victims of President Bush’s move, however, won't be President Morales, but women and men who eke out modest livings as weavers, jewelry-makers and carpenters, creating products for U.S. markets. The U.S. Congress knows that, and just two weeks ago approved a six-month extension for Bolivia. But as recently as October 16 in Washington, President Bush repeated his intent to sidestep Congress and use his powers to cut Bolivian workers out of the program.
The Democracy Center, based in Cochabamba, Bolivia, has begun this petition to give people an opportunity to speak out against President Bush's plan. On October 31 we will present the petition, including the names of all who sign it, as part of our formal comments to the Bush administration, as allowed under U.S. law.

6. George Bush should be revoked as president
President Bush has done very little to help this counrty. He is doing nothing about the climbing gas prices, the mortgage crisis, or the real issues.
I for one think Bush should be fired for his sloppy work.
7. Name Solutions for F.Y.R.O.M. (former Yugoslav Republic - with Cap. Skopje)
Herein a short list of historic facts in support of a distinct official name, other than that of the region of Macedonia of Northern Greece, that will replace the UN official term F.Y.R.O.M. / the former Yugoslav republic with capital the city of Skopje.
· FYROM is a state with a fabricated conscious / identity crafted during the Cold War Era by Joseph Marshal Tito to prevent the unification of the region known as FYROM with Bulgaria (same ethno- linguistic makeup) - at the same time annex Historic Macedonia of Northern Greece.
·The citizens of FYROM, for the most part, are ethnic Slavs (last names end in –ski ) and ethnic Albanians.
· According to the official state census during the Ottoman Era, the primary ethnic groups in the geographic region of Macedonia were: Greek, Bulgarian, and Turkish. History does not record the existence of an identifiable Macedonian ethnic group.
· The region of Macedonia in Northern Greece is over 90% of Historic Macedonia, which is in fact the region that all the major archeological findings have been found. Thus, the region of FYROM is a fringe geographic region to the core Macedonian mainland.
· The region of FYROM covers what was at the time of antiquity part of Paeonia and part of Dardania and was located north of Macedonia.

The Earth is already locked in to a 1.8 degrees global rise in temperature above pre-industrial times. Above a two degree rise, we are guaranteed far more calamitous weather events already evidenced by fires, flooding, wind, melting, Tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes.
These events are resulting in widespread damage and the death of many people as well as entire species.

The War in Iraq has been going strong for 5 years now, As of September 2007 over 27,506 Military Men and Women have been Injured in Iraq and Over 3728 have Died on the Battlefield...and Counting.
There are thousands of National Guardsmen and Women in Iraq who are trained to deal with fires much like the ones in California.
We need too get out of Iraq and deal with more important issues:

-The Darfur Conflict
Nobody else should die in that desert.

The Darfur conflict is an ongoing armed conflict in the Darfur region of western Sudan, mainly between the Janjaweed, a militia group recruited from the tribes of the Abbala Rizeigat (Bedouin Arabs), and the non-Baggara people (mostly land-tilling tribes) of the region.
The Sudanese government, while publicly denying that it supports the Janjaweed, has provided money and assistance and has participated in joint attacks with the group, systematically targeting the Fur, Zaghawa, and Massaleit ethnic groups in Darfur. The conflict began in July 2003. Unlike in the Second Sudanese Civil War, which was fought between the primarily Muslim north and Christian and Animist south, in Darfur most of the residents are Muslim, as are the Janjaweed.
After fighting worsened in July and August 2006, on August 31, 2006, the United Nations Security Council approved Resolution 1706 which called for a new 17,300-troop UN peacekeeping force to supplant or supplement a poorly funded, ill-equipped 7,000-troop African Union Mission in Sudan peacekeeping force. Sudan strongly objected to the resolution and said that it would see the UN forces in the region as foreign invaders. The next day, the Sudanese military launched a major offensive in the region. Estimated number of deaths in the conflict vary widely. According to Sudan's government, 9,000 people have been killed; most NGOs use 200,000 to over 400,000, a figure from the Coalition for International Justice that has since been cited by the United Nations. As many as 2.5 million are thought to have been displaced as of October 2006.[3] (See Counting deaths section, below) The mass media once described the conflict as both "ethnic cleansing" and "genocide," and now do so without hesitation. The some in the United States government has described it as genocide, although the United Nations has declined to do so.
In March 2007 the U.N. mission accused Sudan's government of orchestrating and taking part in "gross violations" in Darfur and called for urgent international action to protect civilians there. Not much action has taken place.
17. Stop the President from sending more troops to Iraq
On the night of January 10, 2007 the President of the United States addressed to the Nation his new plan to send over 20,000 more troops to Iraq.
An AP-Ipsos poll was taken after the President's address to the Nation and it was shown that 71% opposed sending over more troops to Iraq.

Same sex marriages should be allowed. What gives the government the rite to tell people to how they can and can not married? Our country is being run in a Christian life style.

29. Defy the "most damaging project in the Amazon Basin"

Just below the point where the Andes first begin to rise out of the Amazon Forest, the Urubamba River enters one of the most isolated places on earth.
This still un-exploited and largely un-charted region of Amazonia is partially protected by Manu National Park on its edge; past the far border of the national park and at the center of the forest is the Nahua-Kugapakori Indian Reservation. This land was granted by the Peruvian government to the thousands of indigenous people of that area.
Due to the inaccessability of the region, some of these people are still largely or even totally unaware of the outside world, that they are living on an Indian reservation, or that the country of Peru even exists. Also, due to the inaccessibility, stability, and natural-history of this area, the lower Urubamba river country has been proclaimed by numerous studies as the most biologically diverse on earth -- home to numerous ecosystem levels from lowland to cloud forests, rare black caimans, trees that -- according to legend -- walk on their roots, and the headwaters of the Amazon.
In the words of one study, the lower Urubamba is ¨the last place on earth¨ where anybody should be drilling for fossil fuels. Yet, inexplicably, in this heart of hearts of the Amazon Rainforest, the massive Camisea Gas Mega-Project is about to step in.
This project´s major corporate beneficiaries are White House connected Hunt Oil and Cheney subsidiary Halliburton Co.; both of these companies have terrifying, blundering environmental track records.
Their plan is to build platforms, roads and two pipelines from a huge concession in the middle of the forest and through the rugged Vilcabamba mountains, parts of which may have been untouched by human feet until explorers arrived in the 1960´s. 75 percent of Camisea platforms will likely be built in the Nahua-Kugapakori Reserve; this will not only disrupt the centuries-old ways of life of three or more nomadic tribes -- it also has historically meant, and is currently meaning, death for these people.
Though environmental impact reports have not been satisfactorily completed, construction in the lower Urubamba area is already well underway, with little or no supervision. Massive erosion is ensuing.
Environmental disruption has caused fish and wildlife to die off or disappear. This is not only a ripple of biological and ecological tragedy, it means isolated societies inside and outside of the reservation are now facing, possibly for the first time, that pre-imminent feature of our society - preventable chronic malnutrition.
At the same time, Camisea operatives are, for reasons of project productivity, actively and forcibly contacting uncontacted and voluntarily isolated tribes, in violation of the United Nations ILO Convention 169. This is ostensibly to sidestep the skirmishes which usually ensue in projects such as their´s, but the local peoples vulnerability is being actively -- and probably purposefully -- ignored.
However I, and we the undersigned, refuse to ignore the plight of these people and their land.
We are,
1) bearing in mind both the global and continent-wide environmental impact of pipe-line rupture, erosion, cultural degredation, and road building in the Urubamba.
2) bearing in mind that the Nahua tribe, first contacted in the 1980's during gas exploration in the region, lost nearly fifty-percent of its members to influenza and whooping cough epidemics in the few years following, and that now, as contact once again escalates in the latest stage of the project, stable, isolated or recently contacted tribes are once again being moved in upon by imported gastro-intestinal and respiratory diseases -- to which these Amazonian Indians still have no resistence.
We refuse to allow this project to continue -- it is not to late to stop it if we don´t give up!
30. America, Celebrate The Vote!
"Hey, how come we don't get Election Day off?" I'm sure this idea has been talked about frequently in barber shops, coffee shops, bars, college campuses and living rooms around the country. It's not a new idea. Most recently some friends of this petition's author agreed that they'd sign a petition pleading for the creation of a new federal holiday on election day, if one was put before them. So here it is guys. We get Columbus Day off, we celebrate our independence from Britain; so why not celebrate the vote?!?
P.S. Voting on Sunday is an unacceptable alternative because it conflicts with some widely held religious beliefs but not with others.
