FirstGroup proposes changes & cuts to the route of the Services No 6 & 7 bus route in Bath.
From 23rd May, the No. 6 bus would only serve FAIRFIELD PARK & the No. 7 bus would only serve LARKHALL.
There would be NO DIRECT LINK between LARKHALL & LONDON RD and CLAREMONT & FAIRFIELD PARK (including the Doctors Surgeries), CAMDEN ROAD & LANSDOWN ROAD.
Also the frequency of each service would be CUT from every 20mins to every 30mins.
These changes to the routes would result in :-
a) a fracture in the close link that has developed between the two halves of the community of Fairfield Park & Larkhall.
b) Residents of Fairfield Park & Camden would not be able to use the bus to reach Larkhall or the London Road directly and transport shopping home up the very steep hill.
c) Residents of Larkhall would not be able to use the bus to attend Fairfield Park Health Centre situated at the top of a very steep hill and equally residents of Fairfield Park would not be able use the bus to attend Grosvenor Surgery at the bottom of the hill.
When we are trying to encourage more people to use public transport, these changes would also be likely to increase car use by residents of the community, which is detrimental to the environment and contradicts the aims of B&NES Core Strategy for reducing carbon emissions.
West Kingsdown has had a very popular bus service scrapped by the conservative party in 2002 leaving those elderly and disabled expected to pay out full fare on other means of transport, even though they have half fare passes and free passes.
Without the popular service the elderly and disabled are expected to travel a minimum of 6 miles for a pulbic service. The Conservatives are the problem here as they all use cars and they say everyone can walk 6 miles. They just sit on their backsides all day and do nothing
4. Getting a School Bus to Schmidt Development
This petition is to get Stier Bus Service to have a bus stop on South Street and Oakwood Drive.
5. Complete Weekend Service for Northeast Atlanta
This Petition is an effort to show GRTA/MARTA that there is a great interest and need for bus service for Routes 91 and 126 on both Saturday and Sunday. This would provide passengers a way to connect with the Rail system which normally operates seven (7) days per week.
This added service will greatly benefit all consumers who do not have access to a personal vehicle for commuting to work or elsewhere.
We aim to keep the park ride service available from Tollgate carpark. As closure of this bus service would be a great inconveince to many people who use the service.
