1. Unblock The Nerdfighter Ning In The UAE
The Nerdfighter Ning is a place where Nerdfighters meet other Nerdfighters, make friends, share thoughts, ideas, pictures, and so much more.
There is no reason as to why the Nerdfighter Ning should be blocked, and I call on you Nerdfighters to help decrease worldsuck, and increase awesome by getting the ning back in the UAE.
2. Ban animal pornography and shocking footage
As you may or may not know, shocking material is all over the internet. This varies from animal pornography to serious mutilation to human beings.
Child pornography is banned on the internet, but it's ridiculous that media showing animal pornography is still allowed and exists on the internet in large amounts.
This has to stop.
3. Unblock Websites on School Computers
Lately, many of the sites at our schools have been blocked. While the school board claims that this is because of teachers abusing sites such as Facebook during school hours, there were no grounds for blocking other sites such as Grooveshark, Miniclip, etc.
4. No to Deerfield Walking Trail
This is a petition against the proposed walking trail that is to be located to the rear of the homes that are located in the 5900 residential block of Deerfield.
5. Preserve the Far West Village/Rezone the C6-1 District
The Far West Village is one of New York's most historic neighborhoods, which community groups and preservationists have fought for years to preserve and protect from over development.
However, there is a six block section of the Far West Village which still contains an anomalous and outdated zoning designation that encourages out-of-scale development, and strongly encourages hotel, dormitory, or office development in a predominantly residential but mixed-use neighborhood.
While this area is now part of the Greenwich Village Historic District, only a change to the zoning can ensure that any new development here truly respects the scale and character of the neighborhood.
6. STOP DRUG USERS AND DRUG PUSHERS ON THE BLOCK
DUE TO THE RECENT DRUGS AND CRIMES IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD (ROOSEVELT PL.) OUR PROPERTY VALUES HAVE GONE AWAY. HOMES MISTAKEN FOR METH LABS, (COOKING DRUGS AND SELLING IT). HOMES BEEN KICKED IN BY THE ST. LOUIS POLICE DEPARTMENT, CAUSING GREAT DAMAGES AND MONEY SPENT ON NEW REPAIRS; WHILE LIVING ON A FIX INCOME.
DUE TO THE DAMAGE PROPERTY. THERE'S NO MONEY TO MAKE REPAIRS. OUR NEIGHBORHOOD IS LABORED AS HIGH RISK, CAUSING MANY HOME OWNERS INSURANCE TO DROP THEM. THE GOVERNMENT/CITY DID NOT PUT ANY MONEY IN THE COMMUNITY. HOME OWNERS ARE BEEN FORCE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS, ARE WE LOSS ARE HOMES. SOME HOMEOWNERS LIVED HERE FOR 40 YEARS ARE MORE. ITS NOT BECAUSE WE DO NOT WANT BETTER OR LOVE ARE HOME, SOME WHERE, SOMEONE GAVE UP HOPE FOR THE COMMUNITY. THIS COMMUNITY IS NOT DEAD !! WE NEED TO FIGHT BACK, RISE UP AND TAKE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD BACK PUT LIFE BACK ON THE BLOCK. WE HAVE NEW BUSINESS ARISING, DAY CARE CENTERS, OUR ELDERLY PARENTS, WHO HAVE NO WHERE TO GO, CHILDREN WALK AND PLAYING IN THE YARDS. ETC..
RISE UP AND SUPPORT OUR NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZATION TO KEEP CRIME AND DRUGS OUT ---- FIGHTING BACK TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR YOUR CHILDREN FOR TOMORROW. A SAYING ----A MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE!!!
7. Fair Sentencing for Crack Offenses
In an annual report sent to Congress Monday, the US Sentencing Commission announced it had amended federal sentencing guidelines to lower the sentences imposed on people convicted of federal crack cocaine offenses.
Unless Congress takes affirmative action to block the move, it will go into effect on November 1. The report also urged Congress to address the 100:1 sentencing disparity between crack and powder cocaine sentences.
Under the controversial crack laws, people convicted of distribution offenses involving five grams of the drug face five-year mandatory minimum prison sentences, while it takes 500 grams of powder cocaine to trigger the same penalty. Similarly, someone convicted of distributing more than 50 grams of crack faces a 10-year mandatory minimum sentence, while it would take five kilograms of powder cocaine to get the 10 years.
Under section 161 of the Criminal Code of Canada, it is a crime to distribute child pornography. “Any person who imports, distributes, sells or possesses, for the purpose of distribution or sale, any child pornography is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years”.
This is the law of the land. However, internet service providers such as Rogers, Bell Canada, Telus, Shaw and others distribute tens of thousands of pages of child pornography every day.
The Canadian Government ha decided that these corporations are above the law, and have given them complete immunity from prosecution.
The result is the abuse of hundreds of thousands of children and this must stop.
9. Speed Bump Protection Petition
In recent years there have been no children hit by cars although with all of the sppeding young dricvers, it is perhaps only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt.
10. Open Block House Drive Petition
Dear BHC Residents,
As many of you know, Block House Creek needs another entrance/exit to our neighborhood. Currently, there is a petition online to open Scottsdale Drive as a solution and we are adding Block House Drive as the solution.
On May 27th, the Blockhouse Creek MUD Board approved a resolution to be sent to the City of Cedar Park and Williamson County offices, to open Block House Drive to 183-A, as another exit/entrance as they would keep it a private road for BHC residents (unfortunately, this isn't enough and it is why we have this online petition for the residents of BHC to voice their desires).
We believe, Block House Drive South is the most logical solution, because it does not compromise the safety of BHC children and/or disturb the peace of our neighborhood. It is why most of us purchased a home in BHC. Scottsdale is probably the quickest solution but unfortunately it compromises what many of us believe in (indirectly or directly). Scottsdale opens up to driveways, neighborhood children and potential disaster. We understand that Block House Drive may take some time to open up but it is the best solution for EVERYONE in the neighborhood. There are no houses that face the road, only fences and the safety of BHC children is not compromised and the peace in the neighborhood is sustained. It's the perfect solution.
We are asking you to join fellow BHC neighbors by signing this online petition.
**NOTE** IT IS IMPORTANT AFTER YOU SIGN THE PETITION TO PLEASE LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD TO THE CTRMA ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS ISSUE: EMAIL: INFO@CTRMA.ORG THEY WANT YOUR EMAILS ABOUT THIS. ALSO, MAKE A CALL TO CYNTHIA LONGS OFFICE AT 260-4280 - YOUR CALL WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. ***********
The main points for opening the road are:
Traffic congestion in front of the elementary school, traffic backups on Creek Run, Blockhouse Dr. to New Hope. Our children walking to school need to be safe!
Emergency vehicles do not have a clear route to the back part of the neighborhood. In case of an emergency they need a quicker route to us!!
Quicker access to the new Hospital/Medical Center being built.
In case of an emergency evacuation, residents should have more exits than we currently do.
The city of Cedar Park has a proposed fire and EMS station at the corner of New Hope and 183-A.
When the commuter train begins, the RR Track will be extremely busy. Traffic will become backed up on BHC and New Hope during rush hour.
Environmental concerns because of the extra mileage we have to drive to get to our destinations.
The routes we do have to travel take us by school zones, and thru other neighborhoods.
There is no evidence that crime increases because of more access to neighborhoods.
Easier access for the new shopping centers, potential buyers will not move here if they realize how difficult it is to get to the shopping/hospitals.
There are not enough exits/entrances for our 2200 residents!!
11. Keep Scottsdale Closed Petition
Join us to say “NO” to opening Scottsdale!
On Wednesday, April 25th, the BHC MUD Board voted against opening up Scottsdale Road to Hwy. 183-A by sending a resolution to the City of Cedar Park and Williamson County offices, stating to vacate their right-away to the MUD. Since this time, a small number of Block House Creek residents decided to re-open the issue and ask BHC residents to sign a petition to open Scottsdale.
Our opinion to this is that we to want another alternative road opened within Block House Creek, but not for the safety of our children and the peace of our neighborhood. We believe, in time, Block House Creek Road makes the most sense to open up rather than Scottsdale. There are no houses that face the road, only fences.
We are asking you to join fellow neighbors that will be directly affected by the opening of Scottsdale Rd. to access 183A and say "NO" by signing this online petition.
Harm that will potentially come with opening Scottsdale:
1. Serious injury or a death of a child or pedestrians
walking or riding their bikes along Scottsdale.
2. High speed drivers exiting 183A onto Scottsdale from 60+ MPH onto a 25 MPH zone.
3. Accidents with residents cars when they’re backing out of their driveways onto Scottsdale.
4. Accidents with residents who are trying to get their mail from the mailboxes built on Scottsdale.
5. Accidents involving school children who are getting on/off of school buses at 2 corners on Scottsdale.
6. Two homes on Scottsdale potentially losing their home and/or yard, which will put those families in a financial bind.
7. Increase in traffic from non-residents cutting through Block House Creek to get to Horizon Park, Ridgewood and also to get to their homes that are across 183, by using our main exit.
8. Ruin the quality of life that we have living on and near Scottsdale.
9. The value of our homes (that are specifically on or right off of Scottsdale) will potentially go down because our driveways will be difficult to get in and out of, drive by traffic will be heavy, front yards will no longer be family friendly and our once peaceful area would be filled with traffic and back-ups.
10. Increase in crime rate and access for DWI drivers to drive right past our homes
Please help our families by signing our Petition AGAINST extending Scottsdale Drive onto HWY. 183A! Thank you!
If you would like to help us in the fight to keep our families safe and choose a better solution, please let your voice be heard by:
1. Call or email our County Commissioner Cynthia Long at 260-4280 or clong@wilco.org to let your feelings be known
2. Participate in the online survey on the BHC Owners Association at www.bhcoa.com
We sincerely thank you for your support in helping us maintain our quality of life and the safety of our families!
12. Remove health hazards from East Gardena Neighborhood
We have been trying to get a company, Angelus Block, the GARDENA PLANT, 252 E. Redondo Beach. Blvd.
Gardena, CA 90248, (310) 323-8841, FAX (310) 327-2291, to stop making noise 24 hours a day. They have refused to honor our request claiming they have permits that allow them to do as they please.
Our research shows that they are in violation, complaints have been made and we have yet to get a sustained resolution to the problem. Zoning Enforcement, Section I, County of Los Angeles Dept. of Regional Planning, 320 W. Temple St.,Los Angeles, CA 90012 has rendered the following,
"The Conditonal Use Permint (CUP) for the property 252 E. Redondo Beach Blvd. is current. Unfortunately, in reviewing the conditions placed on the business by the CUP, none of the conditions address your concerns. There are no conditions that limit the hours of operation.
Nonetheless, while the CUP gives Angelus Block the right to operate, it by no means gives them the right to operate through the night. If the current operation is in violation of other sections of the County Code, they should be enforced. If the property owner has stated that he has a permit that allows him to operate at night, then that is incorrect and because hours of operation is not part of the conditions placed on the property, it does not give them the right to operate at any hour if it violates the County Code, such as Title 13. Therefore steps can be taken to make Angelus Block comply with the other sections of the County Code."
The materials used to manufacture bricks, concrete, ete contains hazardous material which infiltrate the lungs and Angelus Block does not make any attempts to contain those materials.

14. Keep schedule at 4 periods for School District of Hillsborough County
The school district of Hillsborough county is changing all block sheduling to traditional.
This change neglects the students that have planned there next school year around block schedule. This change is going to mess up the GPA of the students.
15. No to Harvey road flat build
July 28, 2006
A block of 10 flats has been placed in a small area in Harver road. This block was unsafe to begin with as it was too close to the neighbouring house next door.
This became clear when the place caught fire and has now ruined the care home next door and all their possessions.
We, as residents of Harvey road, Pauncefote road and Colevile road, do not want these flats rebuilt under any circumstances.
The goal of this petition is to (plan A) convince the Walt Disney Company to remove the Jetix programming block from the Toon Disney channel's line-up, or (plan B) to convince them to launch an all new channel specifically for Toon Disney's older programming, classic Disney animated movies, and Mickey, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy shorts, ECT.
This channel would be similar to the successful "Boomerang" channel, which Cartoon Network launched in 2000.
In February 2004, Disney added a new action programming block called "Jetix"(which was already featured mornings on the ABC Family channel), which aside from "Gargoyles", featured absolutely no Disney cartoons. Instead, it airs these shows "A.T.O.M.", "Power Rangers" (which is not even animated), "The Tick", "Digimon", "Kong: the animated series", "Dragon Booster", "Daigunder", "Dungeons and Dragons", "Get Ed", "NASCAR Racers", "Oban Star Racers", "Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!", "Silverwing", "Yin Yang Yo", "Jackie Chan Adventures", and more.
At first it wasn't so bad, as the Jetix block was only a few hours long each day, but as time passed it kept expanding, first to five hours on weekdays and a bit longer on weekends. Now Jetix is practically eating Toon Disney alive, airing from 7:00pm - 8:00am (13 hrs) on weekdays and 4:00pm - 8:00am (16 hrs) on weekends. EDIT: They just recently removed Jetix from ABC Family and now Jetix has extended even further and now has a lengthly morning block as well :-(
Now I am not trying to say that the Jetix shows are bad, actually some of them are quite good, but the fact remains, they do not belong on the Toon Disney network.
It would be a good idea to launch a separate channel for Jetix oriented programming in the U.S. The United Kingdom has a channel specifically for Jetix programming, so why not do this for the U.S. as well?
If this cannot be done, we would like you to consider launching an all new channel specifically for Toon Disney's older programming, similar to the successful "Boomerang" channel which Cartoon Network launched in 2000. This new channel could also feature classic Mickey, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy shorts and Disney animated features such as "Dumbo", "Robin Hood", and "Alice in Wonderland" as well.
By doing this you can keep both the Jetix block and the newer Disney cartoons you have put on the network, such as "Kim Possible", "Brandy & Mr. Whiskers", "Dave the Barbarian", "The Proud Family", "Lilo and Stitch: the series", and "American Dragon: Jake Long", while still keeping fans of Toon Disney's older programming satisfied.
In November 2004, a very large amount of programming that the network was originally intended for was removed from the line-up and has not been seen since then. Some of these displaced shows included "Darkwing Duck", "Goof Troop", "DuckTales", "101 Dalmations: the series", "Pepper Ann", "Bonkers", "Teacher's Pet", "Quack Pack", "Mighty Ducks: the animated series", "Chip 'N' Dale Rescue Rangers", "The Weekenders", "Fillmore", "Lloyd in Space",, "TaleSpin" and "New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh".
We want these shows to be brought back to the channel along with "Jungle Cubs" and "Gummi Bears", which have not been seen on U.S. airwaves since 2001.
If you support this petition and its cause please help by signing the petition.

17. Street Closing in Buffalo for 4th July party
June 29, 2006
I would like to have the street closed on July 4th 2006 so that I could have a Birthday Party for my child.
I contacted City Hall and was informed that 70% of the neighbors would have to sign. I will take the responsability of cleaning after the party.
Your guests will still have access to the block for your Fourth of July activities.
I will be having blow-ups and other activities for the children on the block.
18. Dogs on 200 Block West 24th Street
We are establishing the safety of the 200 Block of West 24th Street in relation to dogs that reside on the block. There has been constant harassment and threats to pet owners on our block.
The SPCA tours our block numerous times a week in reaction to the constant complaints by a specific resident on the block and we would like to re-establish our credibility and respond to the unfounded claims.
19. Safety concerns for 13th Street, Santa Monica
July 12, 2005: Residents oppose the addition of a proposed two-story parking structure at a neighboring car dealership.
Residents request that Santa Monica City Council approve speed bumps on 13th Street due to execssive speed by mechanics and potential buyers speeding beyond the 30 mph limit.
20. Open First Class
First Class should be open to all Freshman during the hours 8 Am - 2 PM. The administration should only block out the certain individuals that spam.
21. To vacate the alley at sec 33, block 16 of the original platt of Ontario
The petition to be considered is to vacate an ally way at said location. The ally borders the property of Todd and Christine Ferguson, Jeff Mobley and Basil Wallace. The ally runs east and west through the center of said block. This ally is now and has been unusable due to a pole barn built on property that Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson recently purchased.
Closing this ally was never an issue because all owners knew that it was unusable. Now we all would like to improve and modify our property, now it is an issue that needs to be resolved.
In the 900 Block of Newport, between Monmuth Street and Saratoga Street residents are having constant trouble finding parking places in front of their homes due to new and existing businesses. I and other residents have had police called to mark our vehicles to be marked for parking in front of these businesses multiple times. The reason for parking in front of businesses is their customers take up our parking and it leaves us with grabbing any spot we can find.
We are petitioning for residential parking for that reason. In need of signs that are for residents only and parking passes for residents and visitors of residents.
23. Restoring Peace to the Neighborhood in Castle Street, Baltimore City
The 400 block of Castle Street in Baltimore City is in need assistance from the mayor's office to help restore peace to the neighborhood. Several residents have moved in and out of 417 N. Castle St. The residents have all been constant eyesores to the block. We the neighbors of the 400 block of Castle St. are tired of the nuisance and total lack of respect for privacy and structure.
We would like The Matches, an Oakland Ca band to play their old ska song, People On the Block at live performances.
25. Student petition to block proposed contract with PARTA and dissolve Campus Bus Service
Student petition to block proposed contract with PARTA and dissolve Campus Bus Service.
26. We Want Block Schedule for Lake Dallas High School
Lake Dallas High School teachers have voted to adopt a 7 period schedule for the students and the student body does not want to switch from the familiar block schedule.
27. Save Adult Swim on Cartoon Network
Upset by the recent news of Cartoon Network changing the Adult Swim times to a later time, I created this petition so that many other people can express their reactions towards this. Although another petition has been sent to Cartoon Network, I fear they would not care so this is to show them about how much users they might lose.
We have been running a 4x4 Block Schedule at Valley View for the past 3 years. The adminstration is now considering changing this to a 4x8 Block Schedule. We are trying to stop this change.
