1. Give Martin Freeman ALL THE AWARDS
Reichenbach Fall. No other words are needed.
2. Get Robbie Savage off the BBC
Since retiring from football in May 2011 Robbie Savage has found his way onto several radio and television programmes on the BBC.
Robbie Savage is a airwave and screen pollutant, his unique brand of football punditry adds nothing of intelligence to the shows in which he has participated. He has shown himself to be an ignorant, small-minded, rude, arrogant, offensive and downright unamusing in his work as a 'pundit'.
I have had enough of his presence on our airwaves and screens, and have been forced into action as a result. I would prefer the BBC to spend our money hiring an inanimate object or small furry mammal that would provide an equivalent footballing insight without being so very offensive, this would also save the tax payer a significant amount of cash.
3. Merlin and Arthur - It Gets Better
According to a 2011 report; lesbian, gay and bisexual youth are four times more likely to commit suicide than their heterosexual counterparts.
A 2009 report, quoted by the Trevor Project, lists suicide as the third leading cause of youth deaths in the age group 15-24.
Further, it has been recognised in the BBC’s consultation report of September 2010 (Portrayal and Inclusion of Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual People on the BBC) that on the subject of the number of programs including lgbt storylines: “The vast majority of respondents thought that there is insufficient portrayal of lesbian, gay and bisexual people across the BBC with 70% of respondents holding this view.”
Given that the BBC television production Merlin is watched by millions across the UK, and indeed the world, and recognising that the characters of Arthur Pendragon and Merlin (in particular) are especially appreciated in the lgbt community; we call upon the writers and producers of Merlin to produce an It Gets Better Today video with the aforementioned characters to help combat the epidemic of lgbt suicide and the primary cause thereof; homophobic bullying.
4. David Starkey does not represent London
Petition calling on Boris Johnson to withdraw his invitation to The Mayor's Thames Festival.
We the undersigned call on the Mayor of London to withdraw the invitation to David Starkey to speak as part of the Mayor's Thames Festival.
In a discussion about the riots this summer on BBC Newsnight, David Starkey used race-based terminology to explain the riots, claiming '"What has happened is that the substantial section of the chavs that you wrote about have become black. The whites have become black. A particular sort of violent, destructive, nihilistic gangster culture has become the fashion,"'. He also claimed Jamaican Patois has ''been intruded in England...so many of us have this sense of literally a foreign country''. Comments encouraging the idea that black people and black culture lie at the root of the issues leading to the riots can only whip up racism and prejudice.
The Newsnight discussion then turned to the Mark Duggan protest. When Newsnight presenter Emily Maitlis, responded to Starkey saying that both white and black youth were involved in the riots, he contended that "it started as a black protest about the killing of a black man". When Owen Jones, another guest on the show, pointed out this was a peaceful protest about the shooting of Mark Duggan, and could not be held responsible for the riots, Starkey replied "it very quickly ceased to be peaceful". Quite apart from their race-bias, these comments are hurtful to the family of Mark Duggan, and also ignore the fact that the family strongly condemned violence of the riots.
The true spirit of London is not reflected in comments like these, but in the clean-up operations when people came together from all communities to repair the damage.
It is offensive and insensitive to give David Starkey a platform at the Mayor's Thames festival. Starkey's comments triggered thousands of complaints and have caused deep offence.
5. Multiculturalism is big enough to survive David Starkey
The BBC has been criticised for airing David Starkey's views about the impact of certain negative aspects of Jamaican culture on British Society.
Multiculturalism must be robustly and maturely criticised if it is to continue to evolve as a social model. The BBC supports Multicultural Britain by continuing to providing a forum for this robust criticism and for any ensuing debate that may arise from it.
6. PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM BBC WORLD HAVE YOUR SAY
On Monday 8th August 2011, during the height of major civil unrest, BBC World Have Your Say on the BBC World Service broadcast a phone-in debate on the England riots entitled "Is there a problem with young black men?".
The programme made a clear link between the England riots and the idea that the cause was due to a problem with young black men in general. It invited calls and comments from around the world to respond.
There is no editorial justification for the topic and the majority of comments on the World Have Your Say Facebook site reflect the dismay and shock that this subject has been deemed worthy of a respected international broadcaster.

The BBC's own editorial guidelines state:
"5.4.38. We aim to reflect fully and fairly all of the United Kingdom's people and cultures in our services. Content may reflect the prejudice and disadvantage which exist in societies worldwide but we should not perpetuate it. In some instances, references to disability, age, sexual orientation, faith, race, etc. may be relevant to portrayal. However, we should avoid careless or offensive stereotypical assumptions and people should only be described in such terms when editorially justified."
7. Public Apology needed from David Starkey and the BBC
David Starkey and the BBC should be made to give a public apology for the unacceptable comments made on the BBC's Newsnight.
Unacceptable comments made:
''The whites have become black''
"This language which is wholly false, which is this Jamaican patois that’s been intruded in England, and this is why so many of us have this sense of literally a foreign country."
"Listen to David Lammy, an archetypical successful black man, if you turned the screen off so you were listening to him on radio you’d think he was white."

8. Increase Transparency in the Family Courts
The Government opened family courts up to greater media scrutiny, in response to criticism that the current set up is overly secretive in April 2009. This was approved by Parliament. Journalists are able to attend family court hearings in county courts and the High Court from 27 April 2009.
"The provisions in the Children, Schools and Families Act have been universally condemned and should be abolished, the Justice Select Committee says. Instead, ministers should redraft proposals to increase transparency in the family courts, putting the views of children centre stage."
The subject of newspaper reporting of cases heard in the high court namely to do with private and public law. The Children Act 2004 para 251. Section 62(1) amends section 97 of the Children Act 1989 to make clear that the publication of material from family proceedings which is intended, or likely, to identify any child as being involved in such proceedings (or the address or school of such a child) is only prohibited in relation to publication of information to the public or any section of the public. In effect, this means that passing on information identifying, or likely to identify, a child (his school or his address) as being involved in court proceedings to an individual.
The Court of Appeal has decided that the prohibition from identifying children which section 97 of the Children Act 1989 provides only applies whilst the proceedings relating to the child in question are in progress. Once the proceedings have concluded, the protection given by the Act comes to an end, the entitlement to anonymity thereafter being dependent upon an exercise in balancing the Convention rights of those involved. http://www.judiciary.gov.uk/media/media-releases/2006/news-release-1806
Although statistics are published about cases that pass through the courts, these in their nature cannot answer claims that abuses of the system are not identified and that there are effectively no quality controls.
I am a mother of one. I have had my trials and tribulations being a parent, just as all parents have. Supporting my child in a positive direction; encouraging little one to do well in school and understand the diversities of others. My child and I are the victims of racial harassment promoted by the family court system and rubber stamped by our country. My family case is to do racial harassment by our country. Everyone has a unique story to tell. This is my own. http://wp.me/pXLdg-iY
My Daughter has one kidney, which was damaged when she was born. Her medical records reveal that it was I who nurtured her to recovery. The Doctor sang my praises. Trauma promotes ill health in later life. Furthermore I had eight miscarriages, before little one was born. I was beaten up by the police so they could take her and the one social worker who was in attendance stood there and watched, as my daughter looked on from the middle of the room as we fought rolling around on my settee. There were a number of police officers present.
UK FAMILY COURT JUDGES VIOLATE AND DENY HUMAN RIGHTS OF CHILDREN - There is a clear need to increase transparency in the family courts, putting the views of children centre stage. Once a child is proven to be 'Gillick' competent the child must be allowed to attend Court to give their views to a Judge. Guardians ad litem should not in any circumstance give evidence on behalf of a child that will decide the fate of the child. The Court have a duty to prevent hearsay evidence. It is imperative that Parliament quash the power of Guardians ad litem decision to admit the hearsay of a child as evidence in Private and Public family law matters. The more serious the allegation, the greater the importance of ensuring that the accused parent(s) is afforded fair and proper procedural safeguards in civil and criminal matters. There is no public interest in a wrong result. This must include 'Private and Public' Law cases.
That it is fair to admit the hearsay evidence of a child and a Judge's decision to admit it is irrational and constituted a breach of the claimant's Article 6(1) right to a fair hearing and cannot stand.
Qualitative methods produce information only on the particular cases studied, and any more general conclusions are only hypotheses. Quantitative methods can be used to verify, which of such hypotheses are true. This is what this petition is about.
Family Justice: What We Can Do To Protect Our Children http://wp.me/pXLdg-dE
Tonight's the Night - hosted by John Barrowman - is an entertainment variety show on BBC1 which makes people dreams come true. Its a brilliant series where good people can have there dream performance come true. It could be ANYTHING - even zip wiring grannies. How many shows can do that?
A genuine feel good TV show and what Saturdays were made for. And to see people dreams come true is the best thing ever.
10. Formula 1 on SBS
Channel Ten and its sports off-shoot, ONEHD, have improved Australia's coverage of Formula One substantially over the last few years. However, the excellent coverage provided by the host broadcaster BBC TV cannot and will not be matched for Australian viewers while a commercial provider has the Australian broadcast rights.
SBS or ABC would provide an excellent solution to the poor state of Formula 1 television broadcast rights in Australia. Australian Formula 1 fans have suffered long enough, and it is time the world's most watched form of motorsport had a suitable home on Australian Free-to-air television.
11. More Classic Doctor Who repeats on the BBC!
Over two evenings last week, BBC Four repeated the 1976 Fourth Doctor story, The Hand of Fear. This was arranged in tribute to the late Elisabeth Sladen, as it was her final regular appearance, and it was excellent to see Classic Doctor Who back on the BBC, even though it was to mark such a very sad passing.
Repeat showings of these wonderful stories are very rare these days, but they needn't be. BBC Four is perfectly suited to showing these episodes, and if this happened on a regular basis then many fans, even the casual fans, would be very happy indeed!
What if BBC Four regularly repeated the older episodes? I'm sure I'm not the only fan of the show who would jump at the opportunity to see these stories.
12. Release surviving episodes of "Animal, Vegetable, Mineral?" on DVD!
"Animal, Vegetable, Mineral?" was a popular quiz show which ran from 1952 until 1959, in which eminent scientists would try to guess the origin of specimens from museum and university collections.
It was one of the BBC's first major panel games.
David Attenborough was the programmes chief producer, he was also responsible for selecting the items to be shown to the panel. It was his second television 'credit'.
Four complete episodes exist in the BBC archives.
We would like the BBC to release the four surviving episodes (as well as any surviving clips) on DVD, so that they can continue to educate and entertain.
13. Release David Attenborough's Zoo Quest on DVD!
Zoo Quest was a series of nature documentaries broadcast on BBC television between 1954 and 1963. It was the first major programme to feature David Attenborough.
The series was the most popular wildlife programme of its time in Britain, and established Attenborough's career as a nature documentary presenter.
With the exception of the original 1954 series, (which survives as edited compilations repeated the following year) all episodes of Zoo Quest exist in the BBC Archives.
We want the BBC to release all of the Zoo Quest series on DVD, so that they can continue to educate and entertain.
For more info about Zoo Quest visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoo_Quest
14. BBC to air Torchwood Miracle Day the same time as Starz
The Starz network have give an air date for the new series of Torchwood Miracle Day. The BBC have not.
This petition is to highlight how important it is that both US and UK fans will see Torchwood at the same time and there will not be a delay of more then a day for UK fans.
15. SLS: Super League Show for England & Wales
Currently the BBC only broadcast 'The Super League Show' in afternoon and evening slots across Northern England regions (North East & Cumbria, North West, Yorks & Lincs, Yorkshire). Whilst viewers in the Midlands, Southern England and Wales can only see it in the very early hours of the morning (usually between 12:00am and 4:00am).
We would like the programme to be broadcast in it's usual afternoon/evening schedule across the whole of England and Wales from 2012.
This is desired because there are now a large number of Rugby League fans living outside of the four Northern England regions mentioned above, as well as two professional clubs that currently play in the Super League competition. We believe that currently the BBC is not making the programme accessible to a broad audience and attempting to widen it's appeal*.
* Part of the BBC One remit.
16. Crisis in Arts and Culture Funding
On 13th March 2011 a letter signed by 46 Equity members appeared in the Observer newspaper:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/stage/2011/mar/13/theatre-funding-cuts-actors
The letter speaks out about local and Government cuts to the arts and culture.

17. Get rid of the awful show, "My Family"
This petition is to get the BBC to wipe every episode of the awful, unfunny, plagiarising and overlong running comedy series My Family.
18. Adoptees, The Forgotten Ones
We will present all World Leaders with the signatures plus the stories of adoptees to make them give every adoptee the right to know their heritage. Can you imagine looking in the mirror and not knowing who looks back at you or developing a serious illness and wondering if you had known your family history, it could have been treated earlier?
Can you imagine living your whole life asking who you are and being too scared to ask in case you offend someone? Help adoptees have the same human rights as any other human being - knowledge of their heritage.
Let's stop World Leaders brushing all this under the carpet and force them to change legislation that will help give adoptees back the lives they were born with.
We want sealed adoption files opened, lost information found in all countries and our heritage returned to us.
We want to stop being punished for something that was totally out of our control when we were babies. We accept no more guilt and ask that we be given open access to our documents and free DNA testing when it is asked for.
We want all these issues dealt with, but we need YOUR help. Please sign our petition so our plight can be brought to the attention of our World Leaders
The BBC announced they were cutting their online budget by 25% and thus announcing that the 606 sports forums would close.
The forums has around 15,000 active users but also provides a haven for online discussion of sports from all over the world.
20. Ben Brown APOLOGIZE to Jody McIntyre!
The BBC interviewed Jody McIntyre (disabled man) on Air about what happened to him in the recent student protests. Jody McIntyre was thrown off his wheelchair and dragged across the road. Video footage on youtube shows this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXNJ3MZ-AUo .
The Interview was very one sided and Ben Brown (the BBC journalist) as it looks tries to ask Jody Stupid questions about what happened trying to make Jody McIntyre look a fool. One of the questions that was asked to Jody McIntyre a number of times was if he was wheeling towards the police. Jody does well to keep calm and comeback with good objections. Well done Jody McIntyre we are right behind you!
21. Pension off The Archers Now!
The Archers is a soap opera, broadcast on the British Broadcasting Corporation's main spoken-word channel, Radio 4. At 60 years old it is the world's longest running radio soap opera in any format. In show business terms, it is geriatric.
It started in 1950, with collaborative input from the Ministry of Agriculture; The Archers was conceived as a means of disseminating information to farmers and smallholders to help increase productivity in the post-World War II years of rationing and food shortages, a worthy and successful aim - at the time.
The over-importance that the BBC now places on The Archers is indicated by the fact that on 11 May 2010, after an indecisive General Election, with the possibility of a hung Parliament and during urgent negotiations between parties trying to form a coalition government, the BBC cancelled two of the most popular earlier evening shows but, at approximately 19:02 The Archers was broadcast as scheduled.
22. Hey Moffat! Get your Shertson! Make BBC Sherlock gay!
By signing this petition, you are agreeing that Shertson should come together in the new series of BBC's "Sherlock".
Shertson~ Noun: Gay pairing of Watson and Sherlock Holmes
There is evidence already, that Sherlock at least is gay. Genuinely gay, not just when one is wearing slash goggles.
"Girlfriend? No, not really my area."
"So, do you have a boyfriend then? Which is fine by the way."
Wryly amused: "I know it's fine!" and many more... after all, we get all sorts round here.
They are obviously close and this relationship could be very believably written into the storyline.
In addition: GAY RIGHTS! I demand that gay people be represented with priority, to a less esoteric audience than say, that of "Queer as folk".
I think it would be a wise move for the BBC: daring, controversial, and so they would gain more viewers.
The BBC has already tested these controversial waters with their "Eastenders" storyline, which follows the romance between Christian Clarke and his Muslim love Syed Masood, after that recieving such high praise and very little complaint, introducing some stronger homosexual themes into Sherlock is by no stretch of the imagination: infeasible, or unacceptable in such a widely watched show.
It would be a massive step forward culturally, and a massive win for gay rights.
So come on everyone! Sign now and get your Shertson!
23. Against the BBC not letting the Eastenders/Holby City cast do stops
I'm against the BBC not letting the cast of Eastenders/Holby City stop to meet and greet fans.
24. Bring back the old BBC news website design
HELP US SPREAD THE WORD!
Forward this petition to your friends, on twitter, on facebook as well as the BBC news blogs comments.
---------------------------------
The BBC News online website (http://news.bbc.co.uk) recently underwent a complete re-design, the results of which we believe were detrimental to the overall user experience and quality of the website.
Over 3,500 comments have been posted in response to the editor, the overwhelming majority of which are negative and detail specific reasons why the old design was better and should be retained.
Nevertheless, the editor arrogantly insists that "reverting to the old design is not something we're considering", blatantly ignoring to even acknowledge valid requests and comments by thousands of license fee payers, who in effect have paid for a failed re-design.
We have set up this petition in order to pressure the BBC into acknowledging the issue and considering options other than trying to fix a design that has failed in so many ways. We would rather see money spent wisely on making minor improvements to the previous design, a design that worked so well for the majority of its users.
We are not against change - change is welcome, but it should be meaningful, well thought out and not breaking up things that already work perfectly!
25. BBC should Give UP Its Bias toward Israel
The Palestinian Return Centre (PRC) expresses its deep apprehension and anger over the BBC coverage regarding freedom Flotilla.
The Freedom Flotilla which is a mere humanitarian mission has been covered by a wide range of western media outlets in the last few days. The BBC started to speak about the Boats of the flotilla only in the last 2 days.
In most of its coverage BBC depended on Israeli sources whilst the Palestinian side has been ignored. PRC suggests that such coverage harm the image of BBC and could classify it as an alternative for some Israeli media outlets.
PRC and part of its day-to-day monitoring for BBC observed the following:
On one of its today’s article BBC gave a space for the Israeli side while it has ignored the Palestinian side. The official account of Israel though, Danny Ayalon, Israeli deputy foreign minister was presented, which stated that organizers’ intent was violent. The article mentioned that 'Guns and knives' were used by the civilian passengers.
The great exposure of Israeli account continued on the BBC breakfast and its running news casts.
Spokespersons and Israeli officials were given a chance to justify the Israeli attack. BBC reporters in Israel also contribute to this dilemma as they only speak out what they get from the official Israeli sources.
PRC call on BBC to stand neutral and give up its routine policies of quickly admitting and giving a space for the Israeli narrative.
BBC spokesperson, told PRC that, 'We are unable to respond as we have not been given the courtesy of detailed evidence of any accusation.'
However, PRC told the spokesperson of the above mentioned coverage and the time of the news casts.
26. Demand a Referendum on BBC Funding
The current system of BBC funding (TV Licence Fee) is unfairly burdensome on the poorest in the UK.
No other methods of funding have ever been explored by either the BBC or the UK government.
27. SACK Carol McGiffin from Loose Women
Chris Evans the Radio Two DJ who pulled in a RECORD 9.5 million listeners to his Radio 2 show...
His ex Carol McGiffin has just published a tell-tale autobiography called Oh Carol! in which she reveals their volatile relationship and - at the end - his cruel treatment of her.
The Loose Women presenter describes Chris as a "big ginger tsunami" and their marriage as a nightmare.
But she couldn't stay away from the ginger DJ as he was "like a Class A drug" and she was "well and truly addicted".
Speaking of their break-up, Carol claims she "was just glad to see the back of him. The whole episode didn't really deserve five minutes, let alone two years."
SHE says after sixteen years is a long time to stay bitter.
28. Allow Alex Salmond to participate in the leaders' debate
STOP THE GAG - Do whats right !
The BBC have decided that the First Minister Alex Salmond is not going to be allowed to take part in this years Leaders' debate.
It is a part of UK democracy to allow every elected leader of an officially elected political party to engage in all manner of debates.
Not to allow this is against everything we are supposed to stand for as a nation.
This petition is not affiliated to any party political, it is purely from the people demanding what is democratically right.
STOP THE GAG !!!! Sign Now
29. Tell the politicians Britain needs the BBC
Conservative arts spokesman Jeremy Hunt has threatened to freeze the licence fee for next year. The BBC faces vicious attacks from newspapers owned by its rivals.
We want to make clear that there are large numbers of us who use the BBC regularly and value it, and do not want it starved of funds.
30. Allow BBC iPlayer on Microsoft X-Box 360
While the Wii and PlayStation 3 both already offer U.K. gamers access to the BBC's iPlayer video streaming service, it looks like 360 gamers won't be awarded the same option anytime soon. Telegraph reports that discussions between Microsoft and the BBC have run into a "stumbling block" over Microsoft's insistence to only offer the iPlayer to Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
The problem for the BBC is that they cannot force U.K. residents to pay for access to BBC content, as it's incompatible with their public service remit.
"Microsoft only wants to offer its users access to platforms it can charge for as this is the model it is pursuing," said an anonymous source "close to the BBC" to Telegraph. "It wants to ensure that only those paying for Xbox Live Gold accounts can access its additional content services and even then there is usually a charge on top to get access to those. For example, to access the Sky Player on Xbox, you have to pay for a Gold subscription as well as a Sky subscription.
"This does not fit with the BBC's model and Microsoft will not budge at the moment," the source continued. "It is really frustrating for those involved on the BBC side who want to make sure iPlayer is rolled out on as many popular entertainment platforms as possible."
So the long and short of it is unless Microsoft agrees to allow iPlayer access to every 360 owner, a deal with the BBC won't be able to be reached.
