All scientist' and biologist' cannot correctly deny the fact that a baby is a living being at conception.

A baby is fully formed at 12 weeks, that's well before the end of the first trimester. So if a baby is conceived and alive at conception, then when tell me, is it still ok at 11 weeks?, 10 weeks? Does there come a time when it is not a living human being after conception? It may not be fully formed at that age, but it is still alive.

Q: At what point does it become wrong to intentionally destroy a developing human being?

A: Conception?

B: Implantation?

C: Heart beat?

D: Brain waves?

E: Capacity of pain?

F: Viability?

G: Birth?

In 2003 66% of Australian's thought abortion should be legal in the first trimester.

10% thought it should be legal in the third trimester.

Why the discrepancy?

Because a third trimester abortion kills a baby and a first trimester kills a bunch of cells.

A 9 week old foetus sucks its thumb and turns somersaults.

They may not look like a baby yet, but they look exactly as a human being should look 21 days after conception.

In the hours of conception every aspect of the genetic inheritance for a new individual will be determined once and for all.

So begins the first day of the first nine months of life.

At any stage of pregnancy, abortion kills a rapidly developing, genetically distinct, human being.

The definition of "human being" is of fundamental importance to the governing of Canadian society and the functioning of the Canadian judicial system. The definition present in the Canadian Criminal Code (under section 223(1)) is potentially outdated, and should be revised in light of more recent medical evidence.

The purpose of Motion 312 is to update this definition, and then petition Parliament to make all necessary legal changes in light of revision, if there are any.

Canadian residents of any age may sign.

Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982):
Section (1) "...guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society."

If the unborn are persons, abortion reform is a "reasonable limit" to guarantee "rights and freedoms" of all human beings.

Section (7) "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice."

If the unborn are persons, they must be granted "the right to life", and abortion reform would be necessary to reach such "fundamental justice".

The Canadian Human Rights Act (1985):
Section (2) "...that all individuals should have an opportunity equal with other individuals to make for themselves the lives that they are able and wish to have and to have their needs accommodated, consistent with their duties and obligations as members of society, without being hindered in or prevented from doing so by discriminatory principles...."

If the unborn are human beings, they must be granted "opportunity equal with others to make for themselves...lives". Abortion reform would not be part of "discriminatory principles" against women, but part of ensuring equality in opportunity to live.

If the unborn are persons, then Parliament has the moral duty to give the unborn the right to life. Parliament must, then, also grant pregnant women more federal support, by any just means, so that the child(ren) may be born, and that she does not suffer financially or otherwise.

House Bill No.5711 will do the following:

-Criminalize all abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, without exceptions for rape victims, the health of the woman or in cases where there is a severe fetal anomaly

-It would require health centers that provide abortions to have surgery rooms, even when they don't provide surgical abortions.

The One Child Policy in China allows families to have only one child, with few exceptions, in an effort to control the population. For example, if a mother who already has a child gets pregnant and the government somehow becomes aware, the women will be whisked away for a forced abortion and likely sterilization.

On Monday, a picture became circulated of a helpless infant dieing in water in a red bucket in a HOSPITAL in China. After the Chinese Birth Control Office injected poison into the pregnant woman to make her deliver the baby dead, it actually came out alive and started to cry.

The people responsible ripped the baby from its mother and threw it in a bucket, with water in it, to die. This is not going away and harm will come upon our world for this kind of atrocity continuing. Motion M-312 will be considered by Parliament at the end of April 2012 and voted on in late spring or early fall. The motion poses a real danger to abortion rights, to the rights of all pregnant women, and to women’s equality rights in general. It is motivated solely by anti-abortion ideology. The intent is to bestow legal personhood on fetuses in order to re-criminalize abortion.

However, personhood is a socially and legally constructed concept, and it is bestowed upon birth for very practical and obvious reasons. The courts have stated that the intimate connection between a woman and her fetus cannot be considered in isolation, and that giving rights to fetuses would impose a duty of care on a pregnant woman that would result in extensive and unacceptable intrusions into her bodily integrity, privacy, and autonomy. To grant personhood to the fetus is to necessarily remove personhood from the woman. Historical and medical evidence clearly shows the negative and often catastrophic results when the state interferes and imposes restrictions on the reproductive rights of women in the interests of “protecting” fetuses. In the U.S., hundreds of women have been prosecuted because of so-called “fetal homicide” laws and thousands more have been subjected to punitive and counterproductive child welfare interventions that treat what women do or experience during pregnancy as evidence of child neglect or abuse.

In reality, the best way to protect fetuses is to ensure that pregnant women have full rights, and to provide them with the supports and resources they need for a good pregnancy outcome – which may sometimes include having an abortion.

Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell charged with murdering 7 infants with scissors

A doctor who ran a "house of horrors" abortion clinic has been charged in the deaths of one woman and seven babies who prosecutors say were born alive then killed with scissors.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell, who treated mostly poor and immigrant women, was arrested Wednesday along with nine employees from his West Philadelphia Women's Medical Society - among them a high school student who performed medial treatments with no license.

Gosnell, 69, raked in millions over 30 years performing illegal and late-term abortions, prosecutors said.

Officials described his squalid clinic like something out of a horror movie

"There were bags and bottles holding aborted fetuses were scattered throughout the building," said Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams. "There were jars, lining shelves, with severed feet that he kept for no medical purpose."

Gosnell has been named in at least 10 malpractice suits, but Williams said state regulators ignored complaints about his clinic and that the office hadn't been inspected since 1993.

Patients endured barbaric procedures at the hands of the twisted doctor, officials charged.

Gosnell "induced labor, forced the live birth of viable babies in the sixth, seventh, eighth month of pregnancy and then killed those babies by cutting into the back of the neck with scissors and severing their spinal cord," Williams said.

With 4.3 million abortions performed in New York City in the past 40 years, New York is the "Abortion Capital of America," with approximately 250 abortion providers in the market, according to NARAL, NY.

These numbers indicate there has been consistent, wide availability of abortion services for New York’s women, while access to abortion alternative centers has been far more limited, with only 23 locations (and some of these part-time) operating in all of New York City: a ten to one ratio.

The NYC City Council's Bill #371A was passed overwhelmingly by a 39-9-1 vote on March 2nd, 2011, and signed into Local law 17-2011 by the Mayor on March 16th, 2011. It creates onerous, one-sided, unconstitutional speech regulations, with whopping, cruel and unusually harsh penalties for those centers it describes as "Pregnancy Services Centers."

The newly revised Local Law 17-2011, different than the original Bill #371 offered in October, 2010, narrows the scope of the life centers that are covered by the law.

To be covered, a center location must fit two or more criteria such as offering pregnancy tests, plus maintaining or operating medical equipment (ultrasounds), operating inside of a medical office or a clinic, having technicians present at any time, etc.

All NYC pregnancy centers have provided free options counseling, referrals and some form of material support, but only EMC FrontLine has offered free ultrasound and prenatal care, which no abortion facility in New York City provides.

The law passed on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011 by a 39-9 vote law APPEARS, at this time, to apply only to the oldest and largest group of centers, EMC FrontLine. It might cover one other group which shares space with a Foot clinic.

On July 14th, 2011, EMC will be ordered to post onerous disclaimers on their doors, waiting room walls, and advertisements, and to make oral disclosures to all potential clients on the phone, internet, and in person that they do not perform abortions or provide referrals, distribute FDA-approved contraceptives or provide referrals, provide or refer for Emergency contraception, or "morning after pills" and recommend seeing a physician, elsewhere, if none are available on-site immediately, at each of their locations, where there is even an appearance of medical services provided (as described above.)

The draconian penalties for repeated violations of the above, include being shut down for five days after three violations, stiff fines of up to $2,500, and JAIL FOR UP TO SIX MONTHS for those who do not comply with the shut-down order, in addition to being subject to private lawsuits, which could include potential punitive damage claims.

The bill’s primary authors and co-sponsors, Councilwomen Jessica Lappin, and Speaker Christine Quinn have repeatedly made slanderous allegations that EMC Pregnancy Centers engaged in false and misleading advertising despite their advertising headline : “Free Abortion Alternatives," and copy points: free ultrasounds, free pregnancy tests, and free confidential options counseling, placed periodically on NY City subways and buses.

At the only public hearing on this bill, November 16, 2010, hypocritically, Planned Parenthood of NYC's president accused EMC of locating across the street and in the same building as two of their sites, and specifically in minority areas. Their abortion mills were opened long before EMC's alternative-to-abortion centers arrived near them.

According to New York Vital Statistics data, in the ten-year period (1999-2008), of the 922,272 abortions performed, 726,845 (79%) were Black and Hispanic babies.

In 2009, NYC saw an overall 41% abortion rate, and New York City Blacks in 2009 had 1,500 abortions for every 1,000 live births, representing a race in decline; rounded up percentage wise, this represents a 60% abortion rate.

These numbers point to a profound need for greater outreach to women of color, and expansion of alternatives- to-abortion services.

Without these centers and availability of free ultrasound services, easy to obtain pre-natal care and honest and compassionate assistance, there is only one option that women see and have: abortion. Without these centers, women have no true “choice.”

In a compassionate city such as New York, life-affirming pregnancy options and assistance, and professionally administered ultrasounds, ought to be celebrated and not legislated into oblivion!

I ask that justice be done for unborn children that are being aborted in the city of Akron, Ohio. Abortion is murder. This is evidenced by ultra sound images that show a living child in the womb.

We are killing off our next generation but it does not end there. We also will not have the generations that would have come from these babies had they not been murdered. We will never know how these babies would have turned out or what accomplishments they could have made.
The very act of abortion leaves many women with serious depression problems for the rest of their lives.

It also sometimes has physical consequences. Medical research has connected breast cancer as a side of effect of abortion that sometimes occurs and so also is permanent sterility.

The main reason for the widespread female foeticide and the continuing prevalence of female infanticide in parts of India was the dowry system, which although long prohibited by law, continues to play a significant role in Indian society. Dowries and wedding expenses regularly run to more than a million rupees ($35,000) in a country where the average civil servant earns about 100,000 rupees ($3,500) a year.

Added to this the low status of women in rural India, where they perform the menial tasks of the family such as carrying water and firewood and seeing to feeding the animals, and it is clear where the roots of the discrimination spring.

As the host country of the G8 Summit on June 25/26, 2010 in Huntsville Ontario, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his governing Conservative Party of Canada have chosen to champion an initiative to improve maternal and child health in developing countries.

However, this admirable initiative has become deeply mired in the Conservatives’ anti-choice ideology. The government announced on April 26 that they will not fund safe abortion services “under any circumstances” in developing countries. Although they were forced to back down from their earlier position that family planning and contraception would also be excluded from the initiative, there is still no firm commitment to fund family planning – only a vague promise to “consider” it, and to “not close doors against any options, including contraception.”

Please sign the following petition to call upon Parliament to include funding for safe abortion and family planning/contraception in Canada’s G8 maternal/child health initiative.

All our TV outlets have refused to play the video due to it “making light of rape, religion and abortion”. This is the audio as well as visual.

it isn’t a simple issue, obviously. but the fundamentals seem clear to me.

i sat down one day in or around 2002 and wrote a tongue-in-cheek, ironic up-tempo pop song.
a song about a girl who got drunk, was date raped, and had an abortion.
she sings about these things lightly and joyfully and says that she doesn’t care that these things have happened to her because oasis, (her favorite band) has sent her an autographed photo in the mail. and to make things even better (!!), her bitchy friend melissa, who told the whole school about the abortion, is really jealous.

....if you cannot sense the irony in this song, you’re about two intelligence points above a kumquat."
