We Value Cedarvale.
Dear Dr. Spence:
We, the undersigned, believe that Cedarvale Community School has been an outstanding asset to the Toronto District School Board for the past sixty years and should be kept open so that it may continue to provide our community's children with an exceptional education for many years to come.
The school is being considered for closure as part of an Accommodation Review. We believe that Cedarvale, as an IB Candidate school, with EQAO scores amongst the top 95 schools in Ontario for the past five years, and as one of the country's Top Schools as chosen by Today's Parent Magazine, is a magnet school for the board and a model for what TDSB schools are able to achieve.
While we recognize the importance of the ARC process, we ask that you consider the contribution to the urban landscape that such an outstanding school provides and preserve Cedarvale Community School for future generations.
We are the Cedarvale parents, neighbours, alumni, local business owners, second and third generation Cedarvale students and the community-at-large, and we do not support the closure of a school that has consistently provided an environment of educational excellence and experience. Cedarvale is, and will always be, a jewel in the crown of the TDSB family of schools and the heart of this community.
