Target: City Council, State Police and Local Law Enforcement
Background (Preamble):
The speed limit is 25 miles an hour from NMMC till you leave Fort Kent. I have clocked 10 ton trucks going approximately 38-42 miles per hour.

This is a high pedestrian and children area. This is the normal speed not a few individual trucks or companies.

I am trying to prevent a tragedy before it occurs.
Petition:
We, the residents of Station Hill in Fort Kent, Maine, have grave concerns over the average speed on Route 1 from North Maine Medical Center to the corner of Market and Route 1.

The average speed is between 38-43 miles per hour. The posted speed limit is 25 miles per hour. The biggest concern is the tractor trailers and other large trucks. This is a high pedestrian and children area.

We ask the town council and town manager to have local and state police enforce the posted speed limit. Let the community of Fort Kent prevent a tragedy before it occurs.
