Petition Background (Preamble):
Telstra are proposing to build a 28.8 Metre telecommunications tower to be situated at 102 Esplanade, Aldinga Beach in a residential zone.
This tower will be as close as 5-10 metres to neighbouring homes and will have significant visual impact for residents and tourists. This area hosts the Tour Down Under and draws tourism to the southern suburbs from across the world.
A development like this belongs in an industrial area.

Petition:
The petition of The residents of the City of Onkaparinga, draws attention of the Council to our opposition of the planned development of a Telstra tower at 102 Esplanade, Aldinga Beach, SA, 5173 as proposed in development number 145/554/2012, due to it's close proximity to homes and it's significant visual impact in an area that relies on it's natural beauty to gain tourism from across the world.
The petitioners therefore request that the Council reject the application, as proposed by Telstra, to erect a telecommunications tower at 102 Esplanade, Aldinga Beach, 5173.
