Petition Background (Preamble):
The National Australia Bank recently announced its plans to close more than 100 of its branches, which will result in over 1000 staff being sacked. In the same breath they announced that they would be implementing charges for electronic banking and increasing their charges for over the counter transactions.
There is no need for the bank to do these things. Last year the bank posted a "profit" of over One Billion dollars. Isn't that enough? When will their greed stop? Banks need to remember that they have a responsibility to the public as well as shareholders.

Petition:
We the undersigned petition that the Nation Australia Bank Board not let the bank close any of the 100 branches and that the bank not increase its fees for electronic and over the counter banking.
