Background (Preamble):
East Lothian Councils recent Spending Choices paper shows how the council want to spend your money and where services will be cut back to meet spending targets.

At the bottom of page 10 you will find that they aim to get an annual income of £180,000 (?) by charging for access to ALL East Lothian beaches.
Last year a public consultation was carried out where the public overwhelmingly voted against the use of Coastal car park charges for East Lothians beaches and therefore the council had no option but to "not impliment this scheme".
In 2010 the Council are once again going to introduce this , but this time without full publicised public consultation. However, pressure from the clubs, organisations and public who use these beaches may stand us any chance of overturning this again.
