Petition Background (Preamble):
Arax Cafe had been in the same location for the past 11 years. It is a family owned cafe and the only Armenian restaurant in the area, serving homemade food and pastries.
It as a landmark in the Arlington community and has been positively written up in the Washington Post food section : http://www.washingtonpost.com/gog/restaurants/arax-cafe,1121632.html
The landlord is closing the shop, does not want a restaurant there. The Landlord want to end an era. Arax cafe is a meeting place for people who sit outside and talk to one another. It's a place to come to have healthy food prepared in front of you, and sit in a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy eating it.
It's a place to grab a cup of coffee and catch up with old friends. A place where everyone calls you by your first name and is happy to see you. The Landlord want to end all this, close the doors forever.
