In the wake of the three main political parties' commitment to provide voters with the power to sack their MP, the petitioners call upon Castle Point Borough Council to amend its constitution and permit the local electorate similar powers to sack their elected councillor.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, being of voting age and among the 67,284 registered voters of the Castle Point parliamentary constituency, call upon Castle Point Borough Council, as a priority, to amend its constitution with the purpose of permitting local voters the right to sack their elected councillor (in a similar manner as proposed by the three main political parties' commitment to allow constituents the power to sack their elected MPs).
