Petition Background (Preamble):
The historical reference to the Indians occupying reserve land along the Grand River in Ontario as being "Six Nations" is no longer an accurate appellation.
It is therefore necessary for the name to officially be changed.

Petition:
We the undersigned do recognize and believe that the group of Indians heretofore referred to as the "Six Nations," having for many years demonstrated a fundamental attitude of disloyalty and a collective social and cultural burden to the Government and People of Canada, call on our Government to officially divest the Indians situated in the so-called "Six Nations of the Grand River" the distinction of being "nations" and find a more suitable designation.
