Background (Preamble):
FM 3005 provides access to and from the West End of Galveston. It must be accessible to allow emergency vehicle access and allow residents to prepare for, evacuate and recover from a hurricane.
Currently, the grade level is too low – flooding has been and will be an issues. To insure safety and security of residents it must be raised.

Galveston County Commissioner Kevin O'Brien worked to place $10 million aside from the potential project list of Round Two, Community Block Grant Development Funds to address raising the grade of FM 3005.
We support Commissioner O’Brien’s effort to raise the grade of FM 3005 and ask that Galveston County Commissioners Court also support this project.
