Protect Darebin's Koori Art Mural

Background (Preamble):
The Koori Mural situated on the land of the Aboriginies Advancement League is in serious decay and needs conserving immediately. This mural is an important cultural icon of our community and needs to be protected. The Darebin Council has allocated $10,000 to conduct a conservation report.
It is imperative that the work to restore this cultural icon is carried out immediately. The cost of restoration needs to be absorbed by Council no matter of the ownership of the mural. The Aborigines Advancement League does not have the means or mission to fund this type of project.
It is imperative that the conservation is not held up in a financial tug of war and that the work is commenced before the mural's condition deteriorates beyond repair.

We, the undersigned, call on Darebin City Council to take responsibility for the conservation of the Koori Mural situated on St Georges Road, at the Aborigines Advancement League.
