Obama Stop Monster Zenawi Invitation
Petition Background (Preamble):
The regime is working day and night to systematically dismantle the country. The misery of the majority of Ethiopian people is beyond description. People have already started to burn themselves and commit suicides here and there which are signs of utter desperation.
We are observing countless atrocities being committed by the regime such as forced displacement of citizen based only on their ethnic identity (which by the way is a crime against humanity); the cultural iconic national treasures such as monasteries being destroyed in the name of investment; the dignity of religious institutions is being defiled by the arrogant intrusion of the government in the affairs of these sacred institutions; and our sisters are being sold as salves in Arab countries. The resources of the country are being looted by the few shameless officials and their cronies that ganged around them. Life has completely become unbearable to millions of Ethiopians who struggle to eat at least once in a day.
Generally, the misery of Ethiopian people is beyond any words to describe and there is no limit and bounds to what this regime is doing to destroy the country.
Time has come for all Ethiopians who truly love their country to seriously realise the grave consequence of the current situation and act in a decisive manner to save our country. Now is the time for all democratic forces to set aside their differences and get together to fight their common enemy which is the enemy of the people.
We plead to you in the name of millions who are suffering back home!
Sign up the petition before may 9, 2012 so that we can deliver it to the White House and State Department.
