Not Voting Conservative on May 2nd 2011

...that the most important issue of this campaign is the continuance of our parliamentary democracy. In other words, if the Prime Minister claims a mandate directly from the electorate and is no longer accountable to the House of Commons our democracy is imperilled.

...that while there are genuine concerns about a possible tax-and-spend agenda by any Liberal Government propped up by the NDP, these are not based on recent experience with a federal Liberal govt and nor do they negate the fact that our parliamentary democracy is unsafe with a Harper majority.

...that even by not voting we are comfortable with a possible Liberal Government since a Liberal Prime Minister that respects the will of Parliament means that conservatives can re-organize and advance our cause democratically. If a Harper majority reduces the House of Commons to irrelevancy than conservatives will have no possibility of gaining the democratic representation with which to do so.
