No OC transpo strike

Target: OC transpo union drivers
Region: Canada
Background (Preamble):
A walkout of OC Transpo drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance workers could happen as early as Dec. 10, 2008, as the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 279 voted 98 per cent in favor of going on strike.
The Union's problem is with "wages and working conditions, including the number of sick days workers are allowed and how they are scheduled. While the rest of us has be scared for our jobs due to the recession, the already VERY high paid bus drivers wants more, which in turn would mean higher fares for the rest of us.
Public transport should be an essential service.

Petition:
We the undersigned believe that public transport should be considered an essential service, and OC transpo drivers should not be allowed to strike.
