Background (Preamble):
Homes and businesses in Maida Hill / Maida Vale were flooded yet again in July 09 - the most recent of several floods. We believe this is due to inadequate drainage, and sewer capacity that can't handle even short bursts of heavy rain. It cannot be allowed to happen again.
THE PETITION IS PART OF THE MAIDA FLOOD ACTION CAMPAIGN. THIS APPROACH HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL BEFORE; The Kensal Green area flooded in 2007 has had action taken by Thames Water to address the problem.
Even if your property wasn’t flooded this time, if you live in the area, it’s at risk in the future. Please support our efforts to prevent future flooding by adding your signature.
