Dear Fremantle

We, the undersigned, call on you to accept the BBC's offer to continue showing Neighbours.

Students, parents, workers, we all love Neighbours and part of the reason is because it is on the BBC. The 20th anniversary was fantastic as the BBC showed old clips from the beginning, went to Australia to interview casts past and present and showed the appeal of Neighbours.

We realise that ITV are offering £80,000 per episode which is more than the BBC are offering, but with viewing figures of around 7 million, the BBC are doing a great job.

ITV may offer you more pounds but it will be at the cost of viewers. You will not get 7 million viewers if the show goes to ITV. You will be lucky to get 3 million.

Neighbours is a part of our lives.

We laugh and cry when it is on.

We sing along to the theme music, and we remember the stories.

Please do not take this away from us.
