Implementation of Mental Health Ordinance in Pakistan

We, the undersigned, call on the Federal Mental Health Authority to:

1. Convene for a formal meeting at the earliest

2. Ensure representation of mental health service providers in the Authority in addtion to psychiatrists (psychologists, social workers, therapists, community based mental health workers etc)

3. Form the rules and regulations that make the Ordinance enforceable

4. Formulate specific goals and timelines as to what the Authority will achieve during its tenure

5. Take specific steps to create awareness about the Ordinance among doctors, lawyers, judiciary, consumers of the mental health care system as well as the masses.
