Golflands Reserve opposes Soccer proposal

Petition Background (Preamble):
The City of West Torrens Council is proposing to plunder Golflands Reserve (a community open space) and allow a soccer club to install a field, floodlights, shelters (all at rate payers' expense).
The club brings with it hundreds of cars restricting road access and clogging streets and noise resulting in resident complaints.
This club and introduction of a sporting field will ruin a peaceful and enjoyable place to live. The reserve is used by many hundreds of people everyday for casual exercise, dog walking, taking kids out to play and family barbeques.
There are 4 other sporting fields in the Council area that are under utilised and and in need of spending. Council has not considered these existing sporting fields but has rather decided to plunder one of the last open community spaces in Glenelg North.
We need to let council know we oppose this plan and they should conduct a proper assessment and due diligence on the club, their existing Camden Oval premises (and use) and other sporting field assets that are underutilised and could provide an appropriate area and shared infrastracture for club activities.
Put the turf, fences, floodlights and shelters in a sporting field ... not a community park/reserve

We, the undersigned, oppose the application by West Torrens Birkalla Soccer Club and City of West Torrens council to change Golflands Reserve and the current uses as a community park/reserve.
We oppose the proposal to install floodlights, turf/pitch, fencing, stands or shelters.
We oppose the club entering the reserve and restricting our quiet enjoyment of same.
We oppose councils proposal as they have failed to examine actual use of current oval and configuration of fields making best use of space/asset (Camden Oval) and council has failed to examine 4 other sporting fields owned/controlled by council and within council areas nearby that are underutilised and are already established and dedicated to sporting activities. These other sporting fields can benefit from infrastructure and spending and enhancement rather than plundering our community space at Golfands Reserve
