Background (Preamble):
According to the state of Florida's Board of Education for magnet school programs, Active Duty Military has a high priority for admission to certain schools throughout the county, where as Retire Military has no priority for admission.
Someone who spends 20 plus years defending this great county should have the same priority as someone how is now currently in the military.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the Florida Legislation to amend Florida Statute 1003.05 (requires that dependent children of active duty military personnel be given first preference for admission to special academic programs including charter schools, magnet schools, and certain other special academic programs) to include retired Military dependent students who apply by the deadline should also receive first priority for their first choice school in the magnet lottery.
