Petition Background (Preamble):
We, the tow traffic that work and transit bulk cargos through the Colorado Locks in Matagorda Texas, respectfully request several changes to safety concerns due to tow traffic, pleasure crafts, jet skis, sailing and fishing vessels of all sizes that transit the Colorado River, ICW Intersection or Colorado Locks.
Due to the size of our vessels, tow, wind, current, width of locks and room to operate safetly, we, need more early warnings in place.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the USCG and the Army Corp of Engineers to implement more safety control of pleasure crafts, jet skis, sailing and fishing vessels transiting the Colorado Locks.
Early warning sirens, loud speakers at the gates, signs with lights to the north, south, east, west and bypass, warning of tow traffic about to enter the Colorado Locks.
Also we want a better inspection of traffic by the Lock Masters.
