Target: Mayor of London and TfL
Background (Preamble):
Residents of North Camberwell and North Peckham have been provided with one bus route going through Southampton Way which runs between New Cross Gate and City Hall.

The bus is always full during rush hour - one is often not able to get on the first bus that arrives. The service has improved of late as more buses have been put onto the route at rush hour, however they are still often full.

The population in the area has increased with the new developments that have been built in the last 5/6 years, increasing the capacity on the buses and residents needs for additional routes - not just between New Cross Gate and City Hall.

Re-introducing the Cross-River Tram would also ease the current congestion problems being experienced in the area.

In addition, increasing the sites with Barclays Cycles in the surrounding area would assist with easing the congestion.
Petition:
We the undersigned call upon the Mayor of London and TfL to improve public transport along the Southampton Way area in Camberwell, in the London Borough of Southwark, including the frequency and reliability of the present 343 bus service and to increase the number of destinations available, both going North into Central London and South going to Camberwell Green and Kings College Hospital.

The public transport needs of North Camberwell and North Peckham are not being met and we call on our elected representatives in Southwark and in City Hall to lobby the Mayor and TfL on our behalf.
