Canadian's have historically supported the role of the monarchy by a slim margin. Recent events in Canada had the GG making a political decision to maintain the current minority government against the desire of the parliamentary majority.
This flies in the face of responsible government and surely sets the stage for a petition of this nature.

We, the undersigned, call on her majesty, the queen of England to consider the abolishing of the Governor General's role in the governance of Canada.
We ask her majesty for this consideration in response to the ceasing of responsible government during recent events in which the Canadian House of Commons was prorogued by the Governor General in order to maintain the ruling political party's power.
