Save Omid Sharifi Dana from Executions

YOUR Excellency Ban Ki-Moon,

Following the presidential elections of June 2009 and ensuing peaceful protests from Iranians challenging the result, the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is engaged in the systematic suppression of all forms of dissent. From street beatings to torture, rape, disappearance, to formal executions - the Iranian regime has violated even its own laws. In two cases the appeal court has converted the sentences from imprisonment to Execution by hanging.

Iran is party to a number of United Nations Treaties, all of which acknowledge the right to life of every human being. We believe that Iran should be pressured to uphold the international human rights standards to which it has acceded
The list of prisoners is endlesss list might change day by day as some of may be hanged (often with no notice being given to their families) and some new names might be added. We try to give you one name of that list

همان طور که مستحضر هستید در پی اعلام نتایج دهمین دوره انتخابات ریاست در ایران و آغاز اعتراضات مردمی، قوای حاکم به صورت گسترده و سیستماتیک دست به سرکوب هر صدای مخالف و دگراندیشی زده است؛ از سرکوب تظاهرکنندگان در خیابان ها گرفته تا شکنجه، تجاوز، نا پدید شدن و اعدام . در این بین حکومت جمهوری اسلامی ایران حتی قوانین خودش را نیز نادیده گرفته و در مواردی دادگاه تجدید نظر احکام حبس را به اعدام تبدیل نموده است.

از آنجایی که ایران یکی از اعضای سازمان ملل و امضاکننده بسیاری از بیانیه هایی می باشد که در آنها حق حیات هر فرد به رسمیت شناخته شد ما امضا کنندگان این متن باور داریم با افزایش فشارهای بین المللی می توان دولت جمهوری اسلامی ایران را مجبور کرد تا به تعهداتش در ضمینه مسائل حقوق بشر عمل کند.
در این برهه از زمان بسیاری از عزیزان ما در راهرو مرگ در حال لحظه شماری برای فرا رسیدن لخظه اعدامشان هستند. یکی از این عزیزان امید شریفی داناست که به جرم عشق به وطن به اعدام محکوم شد

A la suite des élections présidentielles de Juin 2009 et les protestations contre les résultats officiels qui ont suivies, le gouvernement de la République Islamique est engagé dans la suppression systématique de toute sorte de dissidence. Des charges violentes dans la rue à la torture, viole, disparition, à l’exécution formelle, le régime islamique a violé même ses propres lois. Dans deux cas la Cours d’Appel a converti des peines d’emprisonnement en exécution par pendaison.

Iran est partie prenante d’un nombre de traits des Nations Unis qui reconnaissent le droit à la vie de tout être humain. Nous pensons que l’Iran doit être mis sous pression afin de soutenir le standard international des droits de l’homme auquel il a accédé.
