Background (Preamble):
Septic systems can cause terrible problems in a neighborhood when they do not function properly. In the Whispering Hills Subdivision located just off Hwy 55, the ground consists of red clay mud. The houses were built on this type of ground making it difficult for septic systems to function properly.
Some of the problems that may occur with these malfunctions are: run off from lateral lines not draining properly, backed up septic lines, and other drainage problems. The residents of Whispering Hills subdivision are concerned about the appearance, along with health concerns that go along with the malfunctions of septic systems on some property in this neighborhood.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the mayor, Brenda Allen, to request grant funds for the cost of extending the city sewer lines out to the Whispering Hills subdivision so that the residents are able to connect to this line, or use funds already present for the extension project.
