Target: www.justice.ie http://www.abfi.ie/
Region: Ireland
Background (Preamble):
This petition is to gather all the people of Ireland to give support to removal of the ban on the sale of Alcohol on Good Friday.

The prohibition on Alcohol solely does not benefit Ireland or the citizens of Ireland.

1. Economic: effects Business, causing a loss of earnings during the start of the Tourist Trade, on a prime trading day.

2. Tourism: Gives a negative impression of Ireland to Tourists.

3. Social: imposes a religious law over civil liberty, with no social benefit or basis for the prohibition.

4. Isolation: causes non-religious and religious citizens to feel oppressed and like an outsider.

5. Totalitarian: not allowing Adults to have a voice by choosing whether to abstain or not for themselves.
Petition:
We call on behalf of employment within the drinks industry and for the people of Ireland, Religious or non-religious, to remove the prohibition on Alcohol on the day known as Good Friday.
