Wood Island Lighthouse The USCG Rescue Of Tammy Burnham
This petition was published by Maurene Kennedy on Mar 02, 2010
We, the undersigned, call on the USCG to reinvestigate the rescue of Tammy Burnham at Wood Island Lighthouse, Maine, November 29, 1960.
We demand that the first hand, expert eye witness testimony of John F. Kennedy and Kenneth Realue be recorded for the official record and history of the rescue. We ask that the testimony of the family of Raymond Bill, and the family of John F. Kennedy be recorded for the official record and history of the rescue.
We seek a public apology from all of the individuals and organizations that have been involved in the marketing of a fabricated story of the rescue. We seek a public apology from John McKernan, former Governor of Maine, and all of the US Congressional members who supported the incomplete and inaccurate 1992 USCG Investigation performed by Lt. Kenneth Furtney, and the medals and citations for bravery that were subsequently awarded as a result of that investigation.
