There is a groundswell of support on forums like cruises.co.uk and cruisecritic.com against Cruise Lines applying a Gratuity charge that can add a fee of hundreds of dollars to the price of a vacation.
The goal of this petition is to make all cruise lines cease this practice and include staff wages in the advertised vacation charge.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, are no longer prepared to subsidise staff wages on cruise ships through the automatic 'gratuity' system.
We therefore pledge to remove all non-compulsory gratuities levied to our on-board accounts in the expectation that you will make up the loss of income by increasing your prices.
We will of course continue to reward individual service as and when we choose.
